DS Launch Titiles

Anyone know which games will be launch titles?

I'm pretty sure Super mario 64x4 will be.

Any thoughts?

We will know soon enough about launch titles.  I don't know if we will know all played launch games, but we will get an idea.

Here help me make a list.

Games to Expect at Launch
Wario Ware (Should be a pretty easy game to port)
Super Mario 64*4 (We must launch with a Mario Game this will be it.)
Super Mario Kart (Should probably be in unlikely for launch, but I have my fingerscrossed)
Madden 2005 (Seems the most likely EA Sports game.)
Urbz: Sims in the City
Spiderman 2
Ultimate Brain Games (Very easy games to port)
Ultimate Card Games (very easy games to port)

Games Not to Expect at Launch
New 2D Mario Game
Super Smash Bros. DS
F-Zero
Metroid First Hunt
Sonic DS
Animal Forest DS (Could be done for launch, but highly doubt it.  Pontential Dec or March release.)
Zelda DS (Not a chance, something special is being done with this.)

Any chance we can take your "Games not expected at launch" list and switch it with the "Games expected at launch" list?  Please!?

These lists really need a good RPG added to them.  Please tell me Camelot (Golden Sun, Golden Sun 2, Mario Golf) is secretly working on something amazing for DS.  Please!?

ooo...screw Squenix, i want  Camelot to make the next REAL Super Mario RPG (not paper mario, a real sequal)

Nintendo really needs about 15+ good quality launch titles in order to prove that this system has a good backing and that it isn't another Virtual Boy.

but those are just my thoughts.

Man I hope Spak-Spang's expected launch list isn't real.  That's a LAME lineup.  There's nothing new or exciting in it.  I certainly wouldn't buy a DS at launch to play those games.

I'm sure it will better than that.  Nintendo's got to be offering more than glorified ports/remakes.

I'm very excited about seeing the launch lineup but at the same time very worried.  Naturally it's exciting to see some official games but I'm worried it won't be that great.  I found the E3 showing to be very meh.

Ok, this game IS NOT A PORT...To claim that it's also not something new is hilarious low...

Ian Sane:

I didn't make the list to be cool...or be everything I wanted.

I tried to make a realistic list.

To be truthful, I don't think that is all that will be available at launch.  I want help with the list.

What games do you think Nintendo will have ready?  All I can go by was what was shown at E3.  Most of those were demos.  So what few actual games were shown is all I know for sure.

Though here is a few things I would add:

EXPECTED LAUNCH TITLES

Castlevania (Konami has been pretty good at turning out the 2D Vania games.  We already have like 3 for the GBA, and one of those was out at launch.)

Capcom Title:  We will see something from Capcom, I just don't know what.  Probably not a Megaman game, or Viewtiful Joe...so as to what it would be I dunno.

BILL:  What I meant was: designing those mini games to work with your DS, which most likely uses a very similar programming language as the GBA.  You can redesign most of those games and create new mini games to react to the touch screen fairly easy.

Just like Ultimate Games, those aren't going to be ports, but they are going to be old games that have been done on the GBA before.  It will be very easy to optimise code for the DS and release those games.

That is all I meant...sorry for the confusion.

Super Mario 64x4 is 3d...Mario Kart is 3d...EA's titles are 3d...Spiderman 2 is 3d...What are you talking about?

(Nintendogs is looking like a launch title as well)

(And my "hilariously low" comment was pointed at Ian, not Spang, to clear up any confusion)

Ok.  Sorry Bill.  I just wanted to be understood that I was just implying how easy it would be to make the games.

Ok.

So after some recent news we can add some to my list...that I will repost in here.

Pac N Pix (Japanese Website already up.)
Mr. Diller DS (Japanese Website already up.
Castlevania (Konami has done very good at developing these games at a timely manner.  We know one is in production, and when the GBA released we had a new Castlevania.)
NINTENDOGS (Seems like a good game for Nintendo to use to try and collect female gamers, which they seem to be marketing for.)

Games Not to Expect at Launch
New 2D Mario Game
Super Smash Bros. DS
F-Zero
Metroid First Hunt
Sonic DS
Animal Forest DS (Could be done for launch, but highly doubt it. Pontential Dec or March release.)
Zelda DS (Not a chance, something special is being done with this.)

Question.  We know Capcom is working on some games, there was a list of what they were...I don't remember what games were listed...if you remember what game from that list do you expect to be the Capcom launch game, because I believe there will be one.

Capcom is working on three so-far-revealed titles right now, with MegaMan Battle Network and VJ being two of them...I don't recall the third...I also doubt either of these titles will be a launch title...

"But I was talking about the part of your post where you said 'There's nothing new or exciting in it.'"

Well that still is pretty much true.  Sure it's a new WarioWare game but is it fresh enough to buy a new system for?  I don't think it is which is why I found that lineup to be dull.  It lacks a game that I would feel I would be really missing out on if I didn't have.

I'm getting a DS regardless of the launch titles. Picto Chat is worth it for me. I'm probably gonna buy 4-6 launch games, depending on the prices.

Lets hope the games average around $30 usd or 40 cdn. The cheaper they are the more I'll buy.

I have a gut feeling mario kart won't be a launch game, i dunno. I might be wrong tho.

I think Nintendogs will likely be in the set of launch titles (in Japan at least) simply because that game was apparently the one that Utada Hikaru was playing in the second Nintendo DS "Touch!" commercial.

(I also think that Nintendogs might be included on the hardware, like Picto-Chat, for this same reason.)

I doubt, Nintendogs will be built in, theres no need for nintendo to do that. Most people would use pictochat, and the MPH demo out of the box.

More than one game built in would be overkill.  Pictochat will garner more use than a tamogachi game.  They're probobly using that game in the commercials for more mainstream appeal.  Besides, its cute and will sell to people like who like cute.

I also don't think it would be wise to launch it with a cutesy game, even though I'kll be getting it. If they want to take away some of the market share that psp will get getting from older gamers, its best to stick to generic games/programs that appeal to all ages.
