Batman Beyond: The Complete Series will be released on BluRay on October 28th, 2019.

Before you get too excited after how awesome the restoration work on Batman: TAS was, there is a catch this time:

"Of the 52 original Batman Beyond episodes, 41 have been fully-remastered from either their original 35mm film source or the uncommon format "OCND," the original camera negative digital (a digital scan of original negative). Lines and resolution have been enhanced, and dust and dirt have been removed – however, cell dirt remains to not disturb the original picture. Included in the remastering was the removal of grain, resulting in enhanced colors. The remastering process does cause a slight aspect ratio change (approximately 3% loss of screen image).

Due to time-worn irreparable damage, the remaining 11 episodes were "Smart Rezzed" from standard definition Digibeta video. The process provides for significant enhanced resolution and improvement of the original source material in converting from standard to high definition, though it does sacrifice horizontal lines for clearer image and color representation. While still a marked improvement over the original video, viewers will notice a slight difference between the Remastered and the Up-Rezzed final footage. The 11 affected episodes are: "Eyewitness," "Final Cut," "The Last Resort," "Armory," "Sneak Peek," "The Eggbaby," "Zeta," "Plague," "April Moon," "Sentries of the Lost Cosmos" and "Speak No Evil." "

So yeah, it's disappointing that half of season 2 will be an upres due to WB not taking care of their film negatives properly, but I'm thrilled to see Batman Beyond get the BluRay restoration it really needed. Those DVDs looked terrible.

The fact that they skipped Superman and went straight to Batman Beyond makes me think that Superman either had more substantial restoration work needed...or they lost even more of the assets than they did of Batman Beyond.

Making it look like the Broadway play is dumb. This is a movie, make a movie. I think they should've just animated the whole thing. Maybe not realistic, CGI cats; I think full on cartoon animated animals (like Top Cat or Garfield) would be better.

I liked Watchmen for what it was and didn't think it needed to be expanded upon. But the trailer looks interesting, so I'll be checking it out.

Who would we want for the next villain? Assuming there are no Sony crossovers it won't be symbiote based.

Kraven seems to be a popular choice but I don't know if I'd like to see him as a main villain.

Maybe Chameleon? He'd probably potentially be a bit too similar to Mysterio.

Having thought a bit more about it, maybe Alistair Smythe would be an interesting way to go? Bringing in the Spider-Slayer. Maybe they could also bring Black Cat into it. Has Felicia been cast in the MCU yet?

I like the idea of Spiderman and Black Panther teaming up, and after a few close calls with Peter Parkers family almost being murdered he goes into hiding in Wakanda, and then Kraven hunts him down. Spiderman would totally work in a Jungle like survival environment. But of course could have a set pieces in New York because that is important for Spiderman.

Um.. you forget that Wakanda contains a city that looks like this:

but you also forget that Wakanda set up embassy's around the world. I'm sure NYC would have one.

I'm sure Kraven would be great though.
but both Coogler and Watts want to use Kraven for their next movies.... unfortunately, so does Sony.
On the off chance that Marvel can get Sony to give up Kraven.... who gets him first? I doubt Kraven would show up in both movies.... would he? Maybe a Spider-Man/Black Panther 2 parter crossover!?

But the next Spidey villain has to be someone that will join the Sinister Six.

I like the idea of Kraven being the villain. I think it fits with where the story is going. There's one version of scorpion that also fits (iirc, was made specifically to fight Spider-Man), but since he was in the post credits for HC already, I'm not sure they'd go in that direction.

I would like to see them pull one of the bigger villains like Doctor Octopus or Green Goblin into the MCU.

I brought it up because you made it sound like Wakanda was nothing but jungle, but they have large sprawling cityscapes too, for that skyscraper web swinging action.

Isn't it amazing how much money you can make when you have practically a monopoly on the entertainment market and can easily dictate to theaters how many screens and showings they will have of your films?
