THe ending wasn't as good at Marathon Infinity and I fell asleep before John did.

Very thoughtful and it evoked many questions about the game's deeper meaning and place in the industry.

Wonderful review.

How are the enemies? Are there still only 4 kinds?

I don't even think there are that many anymore because Resistance: Fall of Man took them all.

Considering the Elites are now on the Humans' side, there are probably less now... ='D

I just co-opped it, if you go to heroic or legendary right away it's like an easy zillion accomplishment points or so for everything you do by the end.

master chief dies

But he doesn't die.  He is actually floating in space in a chrongenic sleep waiting for death...or to be awakened by his computer love interest when she needs him.  That love relationship is really creepy to me.

So obviously, Halo 3 is the end of this trilogy.

But the next Xbox system will have Halo: Future Wars or something stupid where the plot is simple.  The Earth has sustained a long period of peace that our military has disarmed to bare essentials.  But a great new alien power comes to make war with us, and quickly destroys our planet.  One last hope remains in the myth (legend) that a warrior from the old Halo wars is still alive abandoned in the wreckage...and they search to find this great hero...named Master Chief...and he will save the world.

Yeah, it is horrible, but you know that will be the basic plot.

I got kinda irritated by the bump mapping in Halo 3. It's great when left subtle, but they used it way too much. Look at Hood's face, he looks like a damn zombie.

Halo takes place in the 2500s...They didn't start charging until the the end of the millennium... =3

So yeah people are saying that the end of Halo 3 really easily links to the start of Marathon.

If you'd played the single-player campaign in French, you'd have rated it higher.

Halo is 10X better when the spoken Language is frnech. At least.

...Except the Mark IV security guard you're supposed to be shouldn't be Master Chief.

Unless they're going to pull a George Lucas by editing MC into Marathon, in which case I'll be pissed.

Halo Wars is a console RTS that's supposed to take place before the Halo trilogy starts. Unfortunately, it'll disappoint.

- You actually have to think to play a RTS. The unwashed masses don't like that.
- If dual-shock was bad for FPS games, it completely destroys an RTS. In a computer FPS, you use the mouse to aim and four+a few keyboard keys to move and strafe, as well as jump and change weapons...and that's about it for the fundamentals. In an RTS, you use to mouse to point, drag-click, scroll, double click, queue up waypoints, and you use at least 15 or more hotkeys to play the game properly.

If they release(d) it for PC, though, I'd be all over it.

Halo Wars will be horrible on PC.  It'll have been so dumbed down for console that it simply won't be fun once you can actually play the thing the way it should be played.  Sad, I know.

You guys shouldn't bash Halo, it is a franchise that is on par with Nintendo franchises.

I should totally bash Halo.  You know why?  Because Penny Arcade said so.  So there!  =P

But really, my bashing has more to do with the idiots around Halo, not the game itself.  While I do think the changes made are on par with an expansion and not a new game, I think the way people react to the game is just ridiculous.  I also think that if the franchise is on par with Nintendo franchises, it's ridiculous that most Nintendo franchises, aside from perhaps Pokemon, don't get this kind of fanfare when a new release in the main branch is created.  Yup.

I just realized something:

Pokemon Franchise=Halo Franchise. Both feel like glorified expansion packs to the previous game!

Alright, I can agree with that.

I don't go crazy over Pokemon, either, though I do play it.

I think we should put a Halo thread up in friend codes!
