TalkBack / Re: Fire Emblem: Awakening Coming to North America

I feel like they're going to save Fire Emblem for when there's absolutely nothing else in the pipeline, like Xenoblade.

This is really the single most exciting bit of gaming news I've heard in years.

You guys are a bunch of whiners. It's online and everything! Kudos to Nintendo for finally caving in to consumer demand and incorporating features I have been eagerly anticipating from the beginning.

Ha. Ha ha.

I approve of this stage.

This game just keeps getting better. I love seeing my favorite characters return.

I've been playing it every day since I got it. Mario who?

Look at this:

Fire Emblem, Zack & Wiki, Orange Box (!), Sam & Max season 1, Super Mario Galaxy... all bought in the past week. Even if I could comfortably afford them all... when am I going to find time to play them all? To say nothing of the oppressive VC channels that greet me everytime I turn on my Wii...

I'll be visiting my cousin with a ps3 soon though. Thank God. Only Heavenly Sword to really choose from at his place.

So yes, I would very much like it if publishers stopped blowing their wad at the end of the year.

Think of all the characters they could be adding and balancing with the resources they're wasting on online. Mull over it for a while, see how it tastes.

Don't worry... in the worst case, you'll just be wishing in vain for a new character over the 3 additional months they delayed this game to add online. That's not so bad, right?

This game is pretty fun! Definitely up there with the older Marios, and my memory of those is tinted through glasses so rosy it's like luminously mortified baby flamingos puked pinkly into my eyes.

I'll spend more time on it once I've cracked through more of Fire Emblem first.

I just bought Fire Emblem 10 today. This update pleases me. Ike is going to be one of my mains.

I say it is. I picked SMG up at the same time but I'm more excited about this game. Haven't touched SMG yet.

Initial thoughts: mmm, Fire Emblemy goodness. This game seems harder than Path of Radiance... or maybe I'm just rusty. The opening cinematic is absolutely gorgeous. What's more, cutscenes have subtitles. There goes my biggest complaint about the last game. This one is better by default.

If you're buying this game, be aware there's a glitch where your clear data won't transfer if you have any easy mode (red) FE:PoR save on your card.

What, seriously? In all seriousness? Does it just not have enough vacuous online features for you lackwitted poltroons?

Has nobody else bought this game? I'm picking it up in a few hours...

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zack & Wiki: Buy it! (If you can find it...)
« on: October 30, 2007, 06:25:19 PM »
Oh dear God in heaven is there no retailer around here with a shred of taste in games? Where do all these philistines come from and why do they start up game stores!

How much longer must I wait...

Clearly Sakurai is desperate and shunting level design responsibilities for the blindly loyal fan community to deal with themselves, under the guise of yet another crappy online feature. And yet! And yet, everybody's eating it up, and asking for more.

Very well. While you all frolic in your communal mud, I shall keep my honor, and my dignity, and my head held high, and I shall salvage what I can of this broken, incomplete abortion of a game. But I seethe inside, and I rage... alone.

No, I am not the segment producer for a local news show. Why do you ask?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zack & Wiki: Buy it!

I'm buying this game as soon as I find it.

Oh hey guys.

I blame the baby rape on online?

You see? They're not even trying to hide it anymore. "We've crippled break the targets" and "we've added another imbecilic online feature" in the same update.

Is there no end?

God's wounds... stab me, Sakurai; stab me through the heart.

I'm also blaming online for the delay. I hope you're all satisfied. "But PaLaDiN, if they add an utterly useless online mode nobody loses out!"

Is there a difference between the charged Spin Dash and the Spin Charge? What's he mean by "there's no pop"?

Snake is fitting in better than I thought he would. That stage looks really cool.

Haha, Icecold you big kidder you.

That would never happen because my sudden hatred would be as a physical wall, crushing anyone at SSBB development who ever considered it, squeezing the life out of them as they lay writhing and gasping desperately and vainly for oxygen and their lungs collapsed and the light slowly went out of their eyes.

- Edited because I just realized we're supposed to be welcoming newbies in this thread.

Why my dear Bill, I'm afraid you've quite stumped me. I have been trying for a day to think up words to convey the hatred I feel for online gaming, and yet I keep coming up short.

So, hypothetical question. How would you feel if, say, this one random guy killed all your family and everyone you hold dear and everybody you have ever loved? Would it be slightly more okay if, as in this situation, everybody else was urging him on? Because words are useless and I think a more personal and tangible demonstration might be the only way to adequately express my feelings on the subject.

Matt's obsession with voice over text symbolizes everything that is going wrong with the game industry today.

Oh wow, is this thread still going? I remember this thread.

I guess I count as a newbie to most people here. I'm not a WoW player. I was a paladin before paladins were cool. Don't talk to me about online, and don't get me started on games without subtitles. I will hound you.
