NWR Feedback / PlanetWii
« on: April 29, 2006, 02:09:43 PM »
I know Jonny's gone on record as saying it's not happening, but come on. Reconsider.

www.planetwii.com should really be where we're going around 3 years from now... think long-term, think of the children. It actually looks pretty cool as a site name, and it's shorter to type out as an added bonus.

General Chat / Serenity
« on: October 03, 2005, 08:24:48 PM »
So, anybody else seen this movie?

I loved it. I'm no browncoat, but it's kinda sad to see the low ticket sales... Serenity deserves sequels. Loved the acting, the characters, the action, the ship; wouldn't mind seeing more of them.

Although... ouch.

Nintendo Gaming / Burnout Legends, Marvel Nemesis

I remember Burnout Legends being on PSP was an example of how third parties were still in Sony's pocket.

Oh well.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario & Luigi 2
« on: May 17, 2005, 10:17:40 AM »
Say what you will about the rest of the conference, but this is one title I'm buying a DS for. I loved the original...

I'm wondering what role Baby Mario and Luigi play in this one... with 4 controllable characters, seems like things will get a lot more chaotic.

Maybe there's a wifi coop mode?

Nintendo Gaming / Megaman EXE 5 DS: Twin Leaders
« on: May 13, 2005, 09:55:43 AM »
First pictures.

Due 21 July in Japan.

Pretty cool... I liked the first Megaman EXE, hopefully with a new platform they'll give it a fresh start.

Although the Twin Leaders thing doesn't inspire me... probably two versions of the game again.

Nintendo Gaming / Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Why isn't there a thread for this game yet?

Anyway, I bought it yesterday and I love it... my arms hurt now.

I never actually thought it would be this fun... reminds me of Tony Hawk back in the day when it was still fun to play. Stringing together combos is awesome.

General Chat / Where PGC readers go to bitch about everything
« on: February 26, 2005, 07:02:24 PM »
I've noticed quite a few people here seem to harbor a little bit of pent-up frustration and anger against Nintendo in general and their GC tactics in particular. Maybe because there's no specific outlet to bitch about anything and everything Nintendo does wrong, people are letting their nitpicks pervade threads that have nothing to do with their nitpicks. Now, I'm no psychiatrist but I'm sure this can't be healthy so I thought we should have this thread before one of us dons a headsack, brandishes a chainsaw and goes off on a killing spree.

So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I give you a place to bitch about things that don't quite fit anywhere else, a place to voice and discuss your fears and complaints without fear of being seen as a negative nancy. This is just a place to vent. Your rants don't have to make sense. I'm not arrogant enough to suggest that you limit them to this thread, but this is the perfect place to put them. Shall I start?

1) Not enough DS game software. I'm a broke college student and I find myself agreeing with the people who say the DS doesn't have enough games at the moment. They barely fill up one shelf at my local EB. I can't bring myself to drop $190 on a DS and game yet because I can't find any game I must have that's worth that amount of money. I'm fully expecting all this to change once Zelda or Metroid DS come out, but until then... what's taking so long?

2) Not enough new franchises. Aside from Wario Ware and Pikmin, Nintendo hasn't really made any new franchises this generation. Don't get me wrong, I love playing Metroid more than any other game out there, but at the same time I can't help but think of what Nintendo could do if they held an interdivisional brainstorm session to come up with a completely awesome new franchise and recognizable main character. Or better yet, if they founded another division to come up with new characters under Miyamoto's watch.

I'll come up with more if this takes off. Somebody mention online, just to get it over with.

Nintendo Gaming / Smash Bros., Mario Kart?
« on: February 25, 2005, 03:04:42 PM »
Go to IGN right now and read Reggie's words. Humble yourselves before the might of Reggie, for it is awesome and full of glory.

One line in particular stands out:
"As you know, we also have had several award-winning top-selling games and several more, including Zelda, Smash Bros., and Mario Kart are yet to come."

I'm thinking this has to be a mistake. The ramifications are just too good to be true. IGN must have arranged the sentence wrongly...

But then why does the article's picture include Mario Kart, the Master Sword and SSBM characters? And why does it say "Readers don't want to miss this one"?

I just wet my pants.

Don't anybody come in here and ruin this for me. Let me dream for once.

Nintendo Gaming / GC News!
« on: January 15, 2005, 05:13:36 AM »
This is all from Jeux-France... among other things such as screenshots of SFA, Donkey Konga 3 and such. JF is pretty reliable by my experience. I'll also be translating from French so they may be errors.

1) http://www.jeux-france.com/news7816_sonic-.html
According to an interview with the official UK Nintendo magazine, Sonic creator Yugi Naka has let slip a few details about a new Sonic for the GC. While Sonic Heroes was released on all consoles, GC owners might actually have their exclusive Sonic. In effect, Mr. Yugi Naka has declared that he is currently working on a new Sonic for GC that will hopefully see the light of day before the end of 2005. While waiting for more concrete info, we can probably guess that we'll see more about the world's fastest hedgehog next May at E3.

2) There seems to be something about NES games being included in SFA. Can't access JF right now though, so if somebody could copy and paste it here I'd translate.

General Gaming / MGS3
« on: December 31, 2004, 03:18:21 AM »
What do you guys think of this game?

Personally I find it to be the best PS2 game so far, complete redemption after a disappointing part 2.

I'm up to the Sorrow now, but I can't play it again for a while... so close and yet so far.

General Gaming / Half Life 2
« on: November 15, 2004, 09:27:14 AM »
If you haven't seen the reviews at IGN and Gamespot yet, go and check them now.

Anyway, I'm thinking that with this and Metroid Prime 2, I'll be getting the best of what the current generation has to offer.

Just one problem though. Does anybody know if it has subtitles?

Nintendo Gaming / Tales of Symphonia Ending? (spoilers, obviously)
« on: September 09, 2004, 09:37:34 PM »
Could somebody tell me what they say in the anime ending to ToS? It's the only part of the game without subtitles and I have no idea what Lloyd, Colette and Martel are talking about.

I couldn't find any other topic to put this in...
