Ian, you should watch Mr. Brooks. Not only is it a fantastic movie, but Costner plays the role of the father perfectly.

Their age depends on the source you use. For example, when Smallville started they were in their early 40s. Some have them middle aged, some have them elderly.

eh i think Costner is the right age where his age could be stretched in either direction. It only matters if Mrs. Kent is past child bearing age, men don't have that problem.

God, I haven't even seen one super hero movie this year, but I'm sick of them. Most costumes look like they came from a halloween store.

Maybe it's just the lighting! They may look neat with the proper lighting. While there is certainly a lot of superhero movies that generate a lot of pre-release attention, I'm sure there plenty of non-superhero stuff coming up. "Super 8" and "Cowboys & Aliens" for starters.

The next time I go to the theater it will be to watch this and maybe Thor. Too bad they aren't playing at the same time so that I could just theater hop.

SFX look good with the face mapped to a scrawny little body.

I believe it is cannon that Tony's father designed the alloy used in Cap's shield.

No Bucky? On the one hand, sidekicks in movies are kinda "meh," but on the other hand, Bucky is a pretty big part of that story.
TVman is dead. I killed him and took his posts.

1 step forward, 2 steps back.
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/20007/story-details-on-further-x-men-sequels

Step forward: Deadpool will be just like the leaked script and rated R.

Steps back: X4 leads right into another sequel... X5

I'm not sure why I'm bothering to open this can of disagreement, but I'm very glad to hear that not only is there an X4, but that it follows the events of X3.

Like every X-Men fan out there, it was hard for me to accept the deaths of some of the X-Men, but X4 and 5, could possibly be the vindication of those deaths. I've always been of the opinion that a movie or T.V show can alter its source material as long as it doesn't damage the over-arching story (though it's still a little tough for me to watch True Blood despite the fact that it meets those requirements) so I'm interested to see what the X-Men universe looks like without Cyclops. Jean and Xavier might come back (Xavier for sure) and there could be some interesting storylines yet to get from this particular iteration of the XMen universe.

It looks a lot better. Cyclops is a complete prick in every incarnation of the franchise. His death was the only good part of X3. :P

Y'know, after watching Wolverine, X3 doesn't seem quite as bad...

I don't mind there being an X4. After the blow out the series took with X3 along with the evolution of the comic-to-film genre these last few years I think it could turn out very well. Plus I'm kinda getting tired of studios jumping the gun with reboots (Hulk, Spiderman...) One little hiccup in the series should not force a reboot and I feel these constant 'remakes' are allowing hollywood to cop out int he creative department and recycle the same crap to us over and over.

As for X5...I'll wait and see how X4 turns out before giving that a second glance.

My only hope is that Nightcrawler makes a return.

I really really wish Disney would renegotiate those contracts Marvel handed out so that there has to be a legitimate sequel with major theater release over certain periods of time (no more than 3 years between releases) and all stories must be continuous (in other words: No Reboots)

This will force the studios to either build a popular and successful franchise with the Marvel properties or give them back so that value of the property doesn't get run into the ground and damaged beyond repair.

I know it might be too expensive to outright buy the rights back, but they have to be able to atleast re-negotiate since Marvel is now a Disney studio.... you think that might have some sort of influence over the term & conditions of previous contracts.

It should give some influence. And who knows, they may be doing that as we speak. I'm sure lawyers on both sides are duking it out and dragging things out for long periods of time. (why is spell check not accepting the word 'duking')

I think there should be reboots allowed, what about like Ultimate Spider-man, or the X-Men in Cable's universe, or an alternate take on the Avengers. I think the movies should be like the comics with confusing alternate storylines and multiple origin and death stories.

Reboots are fine when the property has been re-licensed, but for a single studio to license and then run a series into the ground, reboot it and then run it into the ground again and then reboot it again only to run it into the ground again is damaging to the license and they should just give it back to the owner if they have no meaningful ideas on films they want to do with the property and/or don't have the time and money to devote to making it good.

Marvel has to protect it's properties and X3, Wolverine, Spider3 and GhostRider where not doing it any favors. They can't even have any cross overs at this point thanks to the greedy milking of their top franchises at this point. and I'm talking about how they wanted Spiderman for The Avengers movie or how they can't make a Wolverine vs The Hulk.
