I would like to know why my hit become nonexistant please.

Because you were put to sleep and targeted by the mafia. The mafia hit takes precedence over every other aspect of the game.

Okay, so seven items up for grabs, and the remaining six players are eligible to win one! Fair warning though, one of the items is the Processed Foods which will do damage.

NWR Mafia Games / Mafia LV: Mage's Mystery Day Five
« on: November 14, 2011, 10:15:23 AM »
The corpse that greeted the council in the morning was a strange sight. Not only did none of them recognize the body, the orb was eerily silent on the matter.

"Who in the name of the Inferno is it?" someone finally yelled.

"The prisoner..."

"The killer, Rogue, you mean?"

"Well then, justice has seen it course." another said smugly.

"Justice exacted by the hand of evil, is not justice at all. Look at his bloodless body! Only the demon, the demon we must kill to save Leoria, would have killed in this horrendous fashion. Do not call this justice, or I call you a fool."

"Who died and made you..."

A dread-filled silence came over them all as they remembered how their distrust and uncertainty had already cost them the lives of the king, and their strongest Guard.

"We must vote gentlemen. There are six of us now, three good, and three evil. It will take more than the vote to settle this, it will take our magic."

Be seated, and begin! The orb commanded, and so they did.

Silenced (the Rogue) was killed by a mafia hit, and the since the vote was a tie, no one dies. The person with Sleep is now in control of this game because they will pretty much be deciding the outcome, by cancelling one vote. Abilities happen before the vote, and hits after it, so it all hinges on them...

No pressure  :P: :

Oh, and I should have given the ending story before leaving, and I apologize for that. To make up for it, everyone has a chance at the items tonight, and I'll be making seven of them available; the five that were scheduled and two others of the hp replenishing kind.

Lastly, I let Mop it up get away with saying she was the king because I knew that there was nothing she could have done to save herself at that point. Even if she had known Stevey was Jamisson and he sacrificed himself for her, there was too much damage for her to survive. However, it is against the rules in this game to say what your role is.

"The one called Silenced, sleeps!"

"I heard him vote for Ceric, with my owns ears, I did!"

"But no one else did, and now he sleeps."

"Then the vote is a tie?"

"What now?"

"We wait for the orb..."

"What do we do with him?"

"Let him sleep, there is strong magic upon him, and moving him would do nothing to his benefit."

The council filed out of the room, so deeply mired in their own thoughts, that they failed to see that one person stayed behind. One person who was now taking on his true form as he prepared for the feast that Silenced's body would give him. The Globlin Demon moved slowly, taking his time with the kill, and savoring every drop of blood until nothing was left but a sinewy skin draped over dried bones.

NWR Mafia Games / Mafia LV: Mage's Mystery Weekend Break
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:21:55 AM »

So it's Veteran's Day, and my sister called me up this morning and asked if I would like to go to Virginia for the weekend. No offense, but between hosting this game and packing to go to Virginia, I choose Virginia.

I was going to break after today anyway, but Monday is probably going to be the decisive day, and obviously there is still hope for the townies because of the way ability uses went last night.

Sorry for the delay, today probably would've been the last day, if I wasn't going away.

Even though they numbered few, the darkened council room felt crowded with the king's mourners. The castle staff and the Regal Guard all somberly sat with the council in the darkness. The blue orb gave the only light, and expounded upon King Zaden III many accomplishments on the battlefield, in prosperity, and in charity.

"He was your king, and was willing to sacrifice himself for this land, and you must be willing to do the same."

The blue orb evaporated, and took the darkness with it, blinding everyone in the room with the morning sun.

Almost immediately the women servants began to weep. As their male counterparts comforted them, they also began to cry; loudly, and uncontrollably.

"Weep not!" One of the Regal Guard called out. "The king now rides in the light of gods, and will be given just reward for the majestic life he lived!"

"That is not why we weep!" It is was the brazen head chef again, but this time, the boy who had interrupted the meeting that started all of this stood with him. "We are not sad for the king's death, but for our own impending morality. Our fate is in the hands of fools!"

"What hope have we?" A woman called out.

"Who will protect us? The king and Jamisson are dead!" The boy called out.

"Listen you weak-hearted harlots!" One of the council erupted.

"CALM!"

"We cannot turn on each other now. There are two usurpers and their foul demon left. There are also three councilmen left. We can counter them!"

"What of Rogue? He is not in cell! We know of this council!"

"Yes... What of Rogue?"

The blue orb returned and expelled everyone but the council from the room.

"You have a job to do council. Get to it, and do it right!"

3 mafia, 3 townies, 1 killer. Yesterday's end story.

"I must be the only idiot in the history of Leoria to break out of a dungeon only to get himself locked inside the castle. Stupid band of thieves selling me out. So what if I slept with the leaders sister? I mean I'm sure sleeping with his mom didn't help things either, but the old hag looked like she could use a turn in the hay. If only..."

Rogue not only stopped his soliloquy at the sound of footsteps, but his body and breathing as well. All of his training returned to him as he calculated the risks of both flight and fight.

"There's only one," he thought to himself "and he's scared."

Before ThePerm realized there was another person in the dark hallway with him, his spirit had already left his body and looked down upon his cold corpse and the man who killed him.

"If only I could tell them..."

"But you cannot." A familiar voice answered his thought.

"MY LIEGE!"

"Yes, councilman Luke, it is I, Zaden III, the last of his line. The demon was too much for me and overpowered me in my room last night. I was already weakened and could not stand against him."

"But what of the Regal Guard?" Luke asked, holding onto some hope that all was not lost.

"As you know, the Squire Artois was killed on account of the vote, and I am afraid that the Knight Jamisson has met the same end, at the hands of that blast blue orb I created."

"Knights of the Inferno!!" Luke swore. "How deeply have the usurpers infiltrated our council?"

"I know not, and care little my friend. My love for Leoria fades more in each moment after death. We walk among the spirits now. Come, let us join the others."

Stevey/Knight Jamisson - Killed by vote
Mop it up/King Zaden III - Killed by Globin Demon
ThePerm/Councilman Luke - Killed by Rogue

When the council entered the room, there was a bloody body and a disfigured head floating before them. They recognized the blue robes the body wore, and those who aided in his death felt small pangs of guilt that were quickly erased by the king's orb revealing that the Usurper Stanos, a former councilman, was dead.

"The power of three is broken!"

"The power of three is broken" The orb restated. "But the king has been weakened, you must find him quickly if you mean to save him."

With that, the body, head, and orb vanished, leaving the council to once more question their decisions. Whatever confidence they gained from killing a usurper, was being subdued by the death of one of the king's protectors, and the knowledge that the king was weakened.

"What do we do now?" One of them asked.

"What else can we do? We must vote!"

Let the deliberations begin!!

OK, again, don't miss yesterday's ending story, PM me your ability uses, and good luck!

"Whoever this Khushrenada is, he spends all his time in this room sleeping."

"Someone, perhaps someone wishing to keep him silent, has been using their magic to keep him asleep."

"Why him?"

"How do you choose who you will spell each night? This blasted castles has reduced our magic to almost nothing!"

"Shall we vote then?"

When all votes were counted it was the one called Despicable they chose. He protested mightily, swore to the heavens of his innocence, but in the end, he was speaking to walls without ears, as the rest of the council filed out, one even pitying Khushrenada enough to carry him away from the ranting.

Rather than return to his room, the Usurper Stanos tried to convince his fellow Usurpers to save him.

"If we help you," the slow, almost unitelligible drawl of Globin Demon answered him, "we expose ourselves and bring down everyone's wrath against us at once. No, you are just as alone now as when you were born."

Losing his mind and ability to speak under the Globin Demon's influence, the Usurper Stanos began running through the castle checking every door and every window for a means of escape. Instead he found the one called Khushrenada with a deep sword wound in his chest, and the evidence of strong magic still coursing through his quickly cooling body. What killed him however, was neither the sword wound nor the magic, but the teeth marks in his neck that Stanos recognized as belonging to Globin Demon.

"Admiring your handy work?" A strong voice said directly into his ear.

"No, no, no, no! It wasn't me, it was..." Whatever magic had weakened Khushrenada had momentarily freed Stanos from Globin Demon's but that was temporary. He know hopped foolishly on one leg, as the means of his death was released from its scabbard.

Jamisson barely had to think about the cut that removed Stanos' head. His Sword of Beauty was sharpened to a point that could've cut stone, as were his skills with the sword. Stanos' head remained in its disfigured state, and Jamisson breathed a sigh of relief and vindication.

"Tomorrow, we will find out who you were."

The Regal Guard Knight bent down to examine the body of Khushrenada, who faced had reverted, but that same face was now marred by the evil touch of the Globin Demon's fingers. What Jamisson did notice, was the blue robe and curved Arakh of his squire, Artois.

Rage filled Jamisson as he thought of how young the boy was. How he would never feel the softness of a woman's pleasure-filled touch, he would never experience true battle, and he would never win himself any glory. A life cut short by evil within a castle would have been a much more honorable death if Artois could have died fighting rather than weakened by the council he was sworn to protect.

Jamisson picked up the body wishing to bury it, but the orb was still directing his thoughts:

"Rather than bury the squire, you must find the king."

The orb was right. Whatever feelings he had towards the squire he treated like a son, his first duty was to king and country.

"Zaden... Where are you?"

Voted out: Despicable (Usurper Stanos)
Mafia Hit/Attacked by abilities: Khushrenada (Regal Guard Squire Artois)

Guys, I'm a townie. How can I prove this to you? Other than, you know, getting voted out.

1. For starters, if MaryJane is following Khushrenada's rule template from his game, then that means that once again there are a couple of roles which could survive the hit. Yes this is unlikely, but, well, it happened last game. However, I searched through the rules and I didn't see it mentioned how much damage the hit does, so unless I missed it then I don't know if that's still the case.

2. Also, I checked the role listing, and unless I missed it I don't see it listed which Mafia member gets to make the hit. So which one is it? Is there a hit? And are there five Mafia members and a killer? Because that doesn't leave good odds...

1. The mafia hit is a final hit, it's immediate death. The Rogue's hit will be 12 damage. The vote is 10 damage + number of votes cast. It's possible for some characters to survive a vote out, but no one can survive a hit. And, the Globin Demon is the one who sends the hits, if he dies, Gero can send them. Sorry, I thought it was a general rule of mafia games that the mafia hit was absolute, and I forgot to differentiate from the Killer's hit. I'm trying :) but it's still my first time hosting.

2. There are 4 mafia members, the killer, and 8 townies including King Zaden, and the two Regal guard members.

I've gotten a few questions about ability to use, so let me just clarify a few things:
You can send your ability use to me at any time between my posting of the day's story, and 12am that following morning.

You can simply send me the target of your attack(s) as I have all your skills listed in Excel which is what I am using to keep track of everything.

For the most part, there will be no reason for me to respond to your ability use, but for those for whom it is necessary, I will.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U Must Bring it E3 2012?
« on: November 08, 2011, 06:36:09 PM »
What would be awesome from Nintendo, and would be the only way they could survive on 1st party only support, would be to have 12 original IPs and every other month, one game comes out. That would mean a new Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Earthbound, Donkey Kong, Kirby, F-Zero/Mario Kart, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and SSMB game every 2years, along with some "minor" original IPs filling in the gaps.

You know what else I'd love to see? How about WiiUWare games that are just one world in Mario? Like if a Goomba stole and hid the Princess it shouldn't take Mario 8 worlds to find her, just one. Or, a bounty mission for Samus that takes place on one world and she just has to solve a few puzzles, track a few clues, and kill countless armies of space pirates? A simple game with Link (at the end of OoT) looking for more clues about the Sheikah? Or how about marrying that 100 Marios game demo to a Pikmin level or two? Games like that would keep the anticipation up for the next games in those series, especially if we could expect them with consistency.

Councilman = Townie
Usurper = Mafia
Rogue = Killer

I was going to wait until it actually happened, but the faces of the Usurpers are going to remain disfigured after death, but the orb will reveal their former position as a councilman. But they would be referred to as "usurper Stanos" and never again "councilman Stanos".

And, I hope you all are reading the ending story at the end of Day One
