Some would argue that "Letter Training" and other "games" like that aren't really games at all and don't belong in a video games sales chart. If you took all of those away then the DS's supremacy probably wouldn't seem so great.

Some?  Who?

And seriously, why not?  What's with all the definitionism all of a sudden?  And no, if you arbitrarily took away all the "training games,"  The DS still owns the PSP up and down the street, it's not even close, really.

I hereby rechristen all FPS games as "Twitch Training" titles, thereby rendering the majority of the XBox 360's American library void for purposes of sale domination!

At least the well done training games still include challenges and are fun so they probably deserve being called games, even if they are edutainment.

There was really no growth this week everyone dropped.  The Rising Star was Mario Kart and that was because it went up 1 rank and had the only positive momentum.  While the Falling Star dropped like a stone with a 30 rank drop.

No they don't.  DS has already secured its place in history as the bestselling console in Japan of all time.  The sad truth behind the PSP is that, yet again, some kind of mutant PS2 game is pushing sales, a game whose sequel is a Wii exclusive.  Other than that, the PSP's software sales remain terrible for any new effort.  Only those lucky enough to have a pre-existing popular franchise can benefit.

Besides, whenever Dragon Quest IX comes out, the Ds will go even further up.

Well for older game titles they're pretty good, since they add in together all the offical NPD data.  But for games that don't have any NPD data yet, yeah they're horrible.

That's why I don't trust VGChartz until a game has been out for a few months.

That's why I don't trust VGChartz until a game has been out for a few months.

Why so? Have they changed their policy and now factor in NPD again, or are they still trying to be "mavericks" and clinging to the idea that their methods are more precise and no longer account of the difference between them and the new NPD findings?

Once they made that announcement awhile back I pretty much gave up on them.

Why is the PSP selling less than half as many hardware units this month as its competitor, but manages to get 2 games in the top 10 but yet the more popular DS doesn't? That doesn't make much sense.
