I'd stop my application if it were confirmed that Ian were trying.

But, since he isn't so far, what game should I review?

I thought about it, but I haven't finished it yet.  I've been playing it with a friend who lives out of town.  I probably won't complete it until sometime next year. =/

Oh, wait, is it ok to review games you haven't finished?  Technically, I know the answer is yes, but ethically, is it the right choice?  I mean, I do have a good feel of the gameplay, and I've played with a few different character types.  I might choose that one, actually.

Edit:  I've finished the application part, mine is a little long, but only because it goes the extra mile.  I still have to do the mock Hot Topic and Weekly Forum Round-up, as well as the review, obviously.  Good luck to others who are seriously applying.  I hope the best man wins!

2x Edit:  I've done some thinking, and I'd really like to write a review of the upcoming Namco Museum DS.  The bad news to that is that it would take a week from today to have the review written, since the game doesn't come out until at best Tuesday, and I won't have time to fully experience it and create a review until Saturday on this particular week.  I'll send an email to Windy to ask if this late date is alright, but if you see this, Windy, before I email you, let me know here if this is alright, or if I need to write something up sooner.  I can be finished with the rest of the application by late tomorrow.

I wasn't planning on starting comparing applications for the CM position until a week or two from now.  You should have time to prepare your articles, after all!

Then again, if someone gives me something that's really good really fast, don't you think that would increase their chances of being hired?  Just saying.

Aww...Can I write a placeholder review, then follow it up with a secondary one?  I'd rather review something newer.  I'll get started on an Alien Syndrome review today, and see where that takes me.  I've already done quite a bit for the mock Hot Topic and Community Round-up.

I don't care what game you review, whether you review something one week old or five months old.  I said that it would only be used to gauge writing skills.  Your review will not be published on NWR, so don't think reviewing an old game will disqualify you from anything.  If that was the case, I wouldn't have asked for a game released in the past six months!

Don't read too hard into this, people.

I know, I know.  I'd just like to take on something fresh.  I know it won't be published either, but after the you stopped accepting applications, I was going to copy & paste it into the reader reviews.  I'll just go with Alien Syndrome, since it's the game I've played the most lately, after Sonic 3.

I got mine in.  Wrote the Hot Topic and Forum roundup right after the email message body, but before the review.  That was more marathon writing than I've done in a while.

Actually, I've decided to cease creating my entry.  I didn't make a grade on a recent test that I wanted to, so I'm going to have to focus a little more on studying to make up for it.  Good luck to everyone else, now!
