If that game list is true, even if half of it is true.....*tear*.  Its just too beautiful for words.  If half of that list is true then good luck getting a Revolution as they're going to be flying off the shelves faster than excited mexican jumping beans!

However, I'm going to have to find time to stop playing Mario World, Mario RPG, and Link to the Past to play the glorious new Revolution games (i.e. Online Smash Brothers!!).

Thank you Nintendo! (If that list is true)

Some thoughts glancing over the list:

-Wouldn't all those Fire Emblem games need translating? If Ninty is porting over old Japanese only games then WEEEEE.

-Sin and Punishment. FINALLY!

-World Cup Soccer. Excuse me while I go crap my pants (one of my all time favorite games).

-OMG DIE whoever said Uniracers sucked.

Now all we need is some add-on device to play old GB/C/A carts....

195. Riqa

I thought that this was supposed to be Nintendo's Tomb Raider challenger that ended up getting cancelled?

If I remember right, it was supposed to release in time for christmas 1999 (I worked at FuncoLand at the time) and I was waiting for a store copy to open to see if I wanted to buy it or not.

here is a link

On the link I think it said this is the japanese list.  I'm not really sure though.  But anyways this means that alot of these games should be coming over here too.  But what would it matter if people couldn't read the games or not?  It's the option of you being able to have them.  And since it'd be a server based thing, it'd make it easier if the server only had one version of the lists rather than multiples.

And I agree Uniracers is awesome.

Too bad there's no WCW/NWO Revenge, World Tour or WWF No Mercy stuff.  But I guess that'd be asking for too much.

Somehow, I doubt they would've been able to sign on that many third parties this quickly. But man, if those Fire Emblems are for real, *drool*.

"Doki Doki Panic"

Super Mario Bros 2 without the Mario makeover?  Neato!

I don't think this is any sort of real list.  It's just a list of games Nintendo owns the rights to.  So while the possibility is there for Nintendo to translate some Japan only games like Fire Emblem for North America, there's no proof they will.  Plus this list has light gun games like Duck Hunt.  Unless the Rev controller has light gun functionality or they release a light gun for the Rev those games wouldn't work.

And whoever said that Uniracers sucks can go to hell.  That's easily one of my top ten favourite games ever.

"Too bad there's no WCW/NWO Revenge, World Tour or WWF No Mercy stuff. But I guess that'd be asking for too much."

I imagine there would be issues with licencing.  There are wrestlers in those games that are no longer contracted to the WWE and they might not legally be allowed to use them.  Plus they would have to alter all of the "WWF" logos because of that stupid lawsuit from the World Wildlife Fund.  Plus by offering the WCW games Vince McMahon would have to admit that WCW was actually GOOD and we can't have that.

I imagine we'll see very few licenced games on this download service.  The whole appeal of it to third parties is that they don't have to do any work.  Changing things for legal reasons just wouldn't be worth the extra cost.  That probably means no Goldeneye unless EA and Nintendo make a deal.

BS Zelda is actually quite crappy.  Link doesn't look like Link and Hyrule is shrunk and simplified.  The only thing its good for is making you realize how much you miss the original.

an N64 game?  This was a GC game. I don't put too much faith in this list, and I seriously doubt the downloadable games will be free.  There may be several versions of the George Harrison interview going around but these are the ones I found first.

Gamespot 05/26/2005
Quote

GS: Do you plan on having like a per-download pricing model along the lines of the microtransactions that will be used in the next-gen Xbox marketplace?

GH: Well, we can use it in a variety of ways. We've used some of the older games already as little bonuses, either as bonus gifts or hidden in levels of games. Certainly for the first-party titles we'll be making some of those available. We haven't really talked about whether we would sell them. The third parties can make their own decision whether they want to sell them, or maybe they will add it on as sort of a free benefit when you buy a current version of the game.

GamesRadar 05/27/2005
Quote

In a recent interview with US website GameSpot, Nintendo of America vice president George Harrison answered some burning questions, finally giving some kind of clue as to how Nintendo plans to play this generation.

"People sort of picked on us for not prematurely jumping into online or internet gaming," he mused, going on to point out that now the company has more to offer besides online gaming. Harrison then confirmed that past-gen, Nintendo-created titles will indeed be downloadable for free.

Obviously someone doesn't know how to read, and/or took the info provided to them and put their own little spin on it.  I think its safe to say that Games Radar got the story wrong and mis-quoted the GameSpot interview.

Probaby a fake list but the first few I'll get, in order

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Wave Race 64
SimCity 64 (??!)
Star Wars Episode I: Racer
Pilotwings 64
Super Metroid
Star Tropics sounded good
Earthbound

Kirby's Air Ride >This game never came out for the 64 what're they smoking
Hey You, Pikachu! >What's the point of it unless the controller has a mic OR... DS can hook up to the Revolution?
Tetris for NES, SNES, and 64? Wonderful.

Edit: Is it just me or is there a sucky journalism bug going around?

Ive heard this wild rumor that Nintendo might release some of those cancelled proyects in the Rev... but yeah, Perfect Dark on the Rev? I dont think so. Does someone know the legal side of things for this one? The perfect dark licence is owned by Rare, but Nintendo published the game, Im really ignorant if that would allow them to release the game or not...

"Do you guys REALLY think Microsoft would let RARE go anywhere near Nintendo with that?"

Actually, it would be a brilliant strategy for Microsoft to employ. Allow Nintendo to use it, then let people download it and remember how good it was. Then, BAM, release Perfect Dark for the 360 and watch people flock to the stores to buy it. Perfect Dark 64 won't sell Revolutions, but Perfect dark 360 WILL sell Xboxes.

RE: World Cup Soccer

Famicom, I think you're my new best friend. If that's the game I think it is, it's the game where you could stand at midfield, call for the ball, and press A+B together make your guy do a special (backflip if you're using Brazil, as you should be), light up the ball and make it go through the back of your opponent's net every time. I LOVED that game. I don't know why, but I just did. I was young when I played it with my cousin and once, after beating a particularly tough country, it gave the code that we would need to carry on after this point if we switched the NES off. We had written down all of the other codes before, but had lost them, and we were going through the game again. Anyway, we couldn't find a pencil or paper (summer holidays) and we needed to go out somewhere and my parents were in the car. So we found my mum's lipstick (don't ask) and wrote down the code on a napkin. OK, I think I've said just a bit too much lol. Anyway, the point is, thank God it's available to download (hopefully)

According to the poster, Nintendo is able to use those because they're using Nintendo PUBLISHED games rather than one's they just developed.

I don't know if this is true or not, but the poster also says its in the Famistu magazine maybe.  So you might want to check there.

How are they going to get Yoshi Safari to work? You need a light gun for that game, same question applys to Duck Hunt as well.

I'm excited by a lot of the titles here, but don't want to get my hopes up incase this proves to be false.

Some of the Games Listed Like Mike Tysons Punch Out is not likely to be availble. What is it With Nintendo and some Sports Celebs having Scandals down the road like Kobe Bryant as well. I dont need to explain you know what I speak of. I think Ken Griffey Jr. Is the only good boy there was they made a game out of. On another note I hope Capcom joins in, I really miss My Super Ghouls N' Ghost Game. I sold on Super Nes. Man Im so full of regret selling my Super Nes. I did so cause I was so hyped about the Cube that was about to be released that I sold my SuperNes. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. Atleast It may be possible to gain some of my games back via download on Rev.

"No, it's not official. I'm looking at the page in Famitsu right now. It justs adds up the Nintendo published titles on the NES (79), SNES (54), N64 (45), and GC (43) to get 221. Then wonders if all 221 could be playable. Please stop spreading false info."

From that topic, looks like this list isn't panning out at all. The source it seems saw the 221 number, and then just tried to find 221 Nintendo published games. I don't see anything in that topic to add any credibility to this list either, sadly.

there just all the offical nintendo games copy'ed and pasted, thats why there are a few errors with cancelled games and such

example:
The Legend of Zelda DD (Ura Zelda) (Master Quest in America)

I highly doubt the launch list would be that huge
anyway "Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey" would be a awsome download, still a fun game to play on N64

There's one game missing that I really want, I don't remember who published it or developed it, or the chances of it coming to Revolution, but it was called "EVO: The Search for Eden" and it was an action RPG where you started out as a fish and had to evolve yourself as a fish, then an amphibian, reptile, etc...  It was a TON of fun.   I think im going to go look up info on it now. lol.

I am an old school gamer.  I enjoy the older style gamers much better than the current generation games, so I am enjoying this whole idea.

The funny thing is once I start downloading SNES games I really can't see playing anything else.  This whole idea is a huge idea for Nintendo, but you can only do it once...the next generation will just have to continue the compatiability, but I will already have all the games I want.

How will I ever have time to play REV games?

Pretty much any classic SNES game on any list I am downloading.  I will get a few classic NES and Nintendo 64 games, but SNES is where I am going to go nuts.

Someone tell me how that is possible? Unless the Rev controller has an infra-red gun (I forgot what Nintendo called their own gun) gimmick I don't see this happening.

EVO was an Enix game, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo did the publishing in the US (as they usually did).
