This is basically one of those issues that is impossible to please everyone with.  If they kept every single secret then all I would be hearing is the complaints that this is only a port of the 3DS title or "just another Mario game with nothing new".  But with showing these things they can change that...at least for SOME of the ones that will even listen.

And I really doubt these are the only secrets that will be in this game.  Some will open the moment you turn your game on depending on game saves you have, while others can help show who you can be which can help someone be interested if their favorite character is making an appearance (I was personally hoping for Nabbit lol).

But in the end they still haven't shown much of the story because we don't know why or how this connects to previous games even though references abound...I for one want to know how this works out and look forward to playing it.

I would pick this up with no problem.  I love having a physical copy of a game for the longevity of it, and I can share it between myself and my family who all have 3DS's.  You just can't do that with digital since you have to give them the entire system and lose the ability to play any other games.

I know some people prefer digital, and that's fine...but some of us prefer physical for collections or whatever.  I would gladly pay a premium for an actual boxed copy of a game.  ;D

Will be looking forward to this coming out :)

And as for the whole "hate" issue, it is one person out of a company.  If that is how you feel about it, I can tell you now to stop watching all movies, tv shows, eating at restaurants, or basically leaving the house because there will always be people that feel differently than you on issues out of a group that works on projects and if you want to burn them all because of one person, your going to just have a crappy time all around.

A few of us will be there at the Pensacola Fl event on Saturday.  Bringing a few 3DS's actually lol.  We have most of the pink pieces from events like Comic-Con and just working together to get them so hope to see some people there!

These things are pretty damn poseable and come with a huge amount of accessories for variable display.  $49 seems fair for everything you get and the quality.  $99 for the larger statue seems a bit high, but I would have to see it more to really make that call.

And this is perfect evidence of why EA shouldn't be allowed to have a monopoly on the NFL.  They get upset because they didn't get their way and now they LITERALLY take their ball and go home.  They spent that money because the last time this happened, Sega made a football game that was sold cheaper, and played better, than what they had been doing.

I love that with this announcement other sites have already ignored it and started complaining that you can't open Miiverse through the browser on the Wii U itself, or on the 3DS.  Some people just have to complain about everything Nintendo does.

TalkBack / Re: Hyrule Historia: A Timeline for the Trash

He may have been involved in putting the book together, but I honestly doubt they would not consider Miyamoto for the timeline as he was the one that started the series in the first place.  The timeline makes sense to me as you are looking at two worlds that are created if you succeed, and then the story of what happens when you die.  I love the fact they actually went with that because not every story has to end happily and this goes to show the consequences of that final failure.

I just find it odd that a series that deals with everything from time travel, multiple universes, magic, etc is ok, but as soon as you put in a possible timeline people freak.  So the games are put into this line...does that go back and destroy your enjoyment of them anymore?

Heck, Zelda II can be taken the same way because if you beat the game, great, but if you die it says directly that Ganon has been revived.  It's just that in OoT you simply did not live through the final battle, but the sages were able to seal Ganon away along with the Triforce he now possessed.  This lead to the wars mentioned in the beginning of Link to the Past as well as its telling of the Sages sealing him in.  With the Triforce, he was able to bend the Darkworld to his will which is why it was so twisted and changed anyone that went there.  This actually makes perfect sense to me because while he "won", he still lost by being sealed away in another dimension.

Now as for the witch sisters, I went back and watched the fight and the conversation at the end.  The sisters don't "die" like any normal character where they burn up or explode...they simply get "halos".  They are completely aware of what they are doing and as they go up, they say they will come back and haunt you.  Being 400 year old witches (or 380 depending on which was right lol) I could see them finding a way back or just haunting new bodies later on....but honestly characters show back up in later games in a series all of the time so I wouldn't let it mess up your enjoyment.

Now I will agree that "forced" was a bit powerful for a choice of word.

So as for titles being cheaper in retail than they are in the eShop I am speaking directly in the US.  You can get New Super Mario Bros 2 on the eShop for $39.99 while I can find it locally for a bit lower and still get a copy that my entire family can share.  For that same cost I can get the digital release, and tough on sharing.  There are 3 3DS's in my house so far (4 but one was stolen) so games get passed around quite regularly.  Because of the physical copy not only do we have individual game saves, but we can compete against eachothers street pass Coin Rush scores as well.

The games they are wanting us to buy like Crosswords Plus and Art Academy are already matching their price locally but do not allow us to get the donkey kong in any way, shape, or form.  I still would rather, if the prices are the same, get the physical copy especially if I can drop it even lower via either sales or other promotions that retail stores can run much more often.  Even Sony is at least trying harder by offering a 10% discount on their digital releases vs the store bought.  Value is based on the user, but this just doesn't seem to have value to me other than having me pay for a game 3 times for us all to use it.

Now as for Zelda, I understand that it was for the 25th Anniversary of the Zelda franchise, but when you give away a multiplayer centered game to early adopters for free to help entice more players, what is the point if your friends are not getting 3DS systems or waited for an XL if there is no way to play with them on this great game?  We have it on 2 of our 3 3DS systems, and one DSi, but can't get it on the latest system or the one we are getting to replace the stolen one with.  So in a home where we regularly break out the GBA's and play Four Swords or FF: Crystal Chronicles on the TV, we can't enjoy that same game much easier on our new systems simply because Nintendo has decided to ignore it.  How much fun is it when we play one person has to sit out even though the necessary hardware is in their hands and this digital game is being forced to be unattainable when I make it my business to track down "rare" physical games.

As much as people want Nintendo to move into the internet age, I am really unhappy with the change they are making in regards to try and force people into buying games full price (more than retail sometimes) while locking other games away (possibly forever - looking at you Four Swords) if you dare spend the same amount on the physical copy.  Things like the extra play coins were a nice bonus for making the decision to go digital to some people, but locking out a game is a bit underhanded, but sadly not their first time.

I'm a collector that treats his collection as a library and a history of our heritage as gamers.  With over 2000 titles in my house right now, I obviously prefer to make my purchases as physical while trying to maintain their viability for later generations to enjoy (damn online passes that lock out single player content).  Don't get me wrong, I understand people's want for a digital library since my movies, my wifes hundreds of books (she really loves that damned Kindle), and my music all went that way, but games and comics just need to be physical in my case.  They should exist together...not one or the other.  Nintendo would ease alot of frustration if they just made the game available to purchase AT LEAST to individuals that register the said titles physical copies to their Club Nintendo accounts.  I would pay a few dollars for it along with the physical games I will be buying from their list regardless (Layton!)

This is a topic we have covered a few times on our show, and I always enjoy the discussion that comes from it.  I'm just worried that in Nintendo's attempts to play "catch up" to peoples expectations for an online system, store, and community that they will overdue it and burn their older minded fans. (Also give us the option to buy Four Swords so my youngest can join the rest of us in the game!)
