« on: April 09, 2003, 11:28:59 AM »
Ok. I feel really guilty asking for help. Up to now i havent looked at a strategy guide once. I still havent, but i need YOUR help! *uncle sam points finger* I have seached HIGH and LOW and in the MIDDLE even, but i cannot figure out the first task the pictographer wants me to complete! He says he wants a picture of someone who writes love letters non-stop and never learns love's cruelest lesson: rejection. i dont know who he's talking about. PLEASE help me SOMEONE. its driving me INSANE! i got enough of that from Eternal Darkness...

Nintendo Gaming / Tetra's Stone

Ok. I wasn't sure if I should put this in the Gameplay Help Forums so feel free to move it if you think it does belong there. Anyway, my question is: Is it possible for Tetra's Stone to give you enemy descriptions? I'd kinda like to know the names of all the baddies I've been sliceing up. Thanks for your help.

Nintendo Gaming / WARNING: Do NOT open the newest Nintendo Newsletter!

Ok. I'm glad I'm not signed up for this lil' shin dig. However, I am a subscriber to NP. My question: is this notorious spoiler pic in the next issue? If it is, I'm gonna burn it the moment it defiles my mailbox.

*Warning! Possible plot spoilers*
I just wanted to point out a thing or two I just remembered. The yellow magick was the alignment of the cursed scroll that was to be delivered to Emperor Charlemagne. Also, the relic that Pious used to lure humans as food to the guardian of that relic was called the the "hand of St. Jude". In Catholicism, St. Jude is the patron saint of hopeless cases. Very appropriate for such the seemingly hopeless destinies of the chosen one's in the plot. Oh yeah, one last thing. It's pretty obvious but I don't think anyone has mentioned this lil' secret yet. *whispers* Roivas spelled BACKWARDS...is SAVIOR!!!! Way to go on that one Dennis. You thought you could trick Berny, but we were to good for you.

I love you, Dennis. If you wanna come to my house you can see my DENNIS SHRINE. Admission is...OK OK! I lied...it's free. ANYWAYS, whatever game you're releasing next, I will love it (assuming you have the same geniuses [perhaps genii?] working on it.) But I'll drop $50 for it guaranteed. I don't suppose, if you're still checkin in on us over here, that you could—oh i dunno—drop a HINT as to what the next game is its general plot and planned release date? That'd be REALLY cool if you did.

TalkBack / Teens Still Controlling Game Market
« on: March 06, 2003, 05:52:41 AM »
Oh, where to begin... Ok. First of all I agree that there are some SERIOUS insecurity issues with teen males not looking manly enough, and so naturally they dont want to buy a PURPLE-possibly THE most effeminite color in existance-video gaming system with "kiddie" games like that stupid cel-shaded kid in the green tunic. Seriously you'd have to be a total [insert "lockerroom" derrogetory comment here] if you bought a Gamecube. But...wait....I own a Gamecube.... Yet I am a 16 year old male (who by the way owns a PURPLE Cube. I like it. It's different than black. That's all you get with xbox and ps2. black. although I think Sony is making a pink PS2. Is being different becoming a trend?)
And as for the Gamecube being kiddie, that is possibly one of the BIGGEST dissillusion in the video game industry. To anyone that bashes my poor little "kiddie" Cube, I ask them if they've ever heard of say....the now EXCLUSIVE RE series. Or if Eternal Darkness is Mature enough. There's enough blood and gore in those games to keep Dracula happy for a year. And then there's the smash hit Metroid Prime. Calling the Cube kiddie is absurd. Not only is Nintendo NOT kiddie, but they are becoming more mature without games like the crass GTA. That game is despicable. It has no point (other than running people over), it has no story (other than picking up hookers), and it has no value (except that now our youth can steal a car in 5 min. or less with only a coat hangar and a pair of plyers).
OK I guess I'm done ranting for now.

Nintendo Gaming / Pre-E3 list, (not confirming list)

Ok, WHAT did I miss???? Why is Harvest Moon under Ubi???? I thought it was made by Natsume. Did they go under? Their games are so great!

Nintendo Gaming / Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
« on: March 05, 2003, 02:37:13 AM »
Harvest Moon is great. It's one of my favorite games on the 64. My wife is Ann, the farm girl. She got me drunk at one of the village gatherings and I passed out. (She was drunk at the time too)

Nintendo Gaming / Sega was rumored to be bought by Nintendo?
« on: February 28, 2003, 02:21:11 AM »
Mario, I heard the same thing. I was listening to the radio this moring (it was a news radio station run by CBS). They reported "Microsoft is working with Electronic Arts to buy all or part of Sega, the Japanese video game company famous for its Sonic the Hedgehog franchise." At first I was worried, but now I don't think it'll happen. Sega doesn't want to be a part of an American monopoly, righ? I mean who does?

Thought I should mention that they also reported that Billy Gates is only worth 40 billion as opposed to 100 billion in 1998. Poor guy. He might only have 20 million in a few years and be living in an AVERAGE mansion.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda bonus disk boxart.
« on: February 27, 2003, 10:40:34 AM »
OOOO! I love the new box art! Just ONE question though. Can I print it out on the back of the original, or should i get some "special" paper for it. I really wanna print this thing out so I'd appreciate some help on this one. Thanks!

I too heard that the Fire Temple music was changed in later versions of the game on the N64. I think it had something with the music sounding like a Muslim prayer and I guess someone complained to Nintendo silently changed it in later carts. Now that I think about it, the old mirror shield/pushable block design does resemble the crescent moon design I've seen on top of a  mosque near my house. (I think it's a mosque. I'm not a Muslim though so I couldn't tell you for sure.) Well, I've put my two cents in.

Nintendo Gaming / Camcom vs. SNK 2 EO question
« on: February 22, 2003, 06:29:30 AM »
Alright, NOW I'm confused. According to the Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO box, the game is a GCN exclusive. However, I was leafing through a Circuit City ad and my eyes were scorched by the sight of that game on the xbox! How can it be a GCN exclusive and also be on the box? I thought Nintendo had really good relations with Capcom. Could some body fill me in?

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto interview! Heaps of news!
« on: February 21, 2003, 02:05:47 PM »
I think he may have hinted at the new and original game he's supposed to be making in the interview. He said at one point that he had recently started a garden and gotten involved with gardening. End of last year, we are graced with Pikmin (I think that there was rumor of that game's layout being based on his actual garden. I don't know if it's true though.) Anyways, he also said in the interview that he had recently gotten a dog and been talking to a dog specialist and had an in-depth conversation on the meaning of "dog" or something. Could it be that this new game he is creating has something to do with a dog? I don't see what he could do with a dog, but then again I didn't foresee Pikmin either.

Nintendo Gaming / Do you think Majora's Mask deserves a special edition?
« on: February 20, 2003, 02:02:12 PM »
Good idea theaveng! I would buy that as soon as it came out! Or (just to keep on the topic of zelda) they could put all the Zelda games (N64 and earlier) on one disc. That would make me happy in ways only emoticons can express... For instance, I feel better now.

Nintendo Gaming / Finally! Zelda Commercial
« on: February 19, 2003, 01:47:33 PM »
Yeah, Nintendo can no longer rely on the Zelda franchise name alone to make the game a success. Too much of the video game industry is based on the casual buyer. If Nintendo had a better advertising campaign, WW would probably be one of the best selling games of the year. It's already doing well, but Nintendo shouldn't settle for second rate. I mean, Lord of the Rings did better than METROID last month.... sad....

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda is converting xbox fanboys!
« on: February 18, 2003, 01:10:49 PM »
amazing but true. I was looking through some xbox forums (dont worry. i dont like the xbox. i just wanna know what goes through those fanboys' heads.) and i this guy was saying how he thought the new zelda was going to suck major @$$. Then he went into babbages, played around with the zelda demo and immediately fell in love with it. He then reserved a copy. I was in tears. (ok no I wasn't but still...) If a demo can change the mind of an xboxer, this game is gonna ROCK!
