Of course you would like to know my source and so I can say a Ziff-Davis Memo sent to the office I work @. I'm security and I don't know who or what a Ziff-Davis is or what there company represents but I know Ea Sports and that's what caught my eye. Madden as a launch title is so very good. Feel free to ask me any ?s I'll be @ work until 12am est and maybe I can find out more from the folks upstairs( I work for an insurance co. Here in philly).

very interesting post man, thanks.

So....looking like 30-35 dollar price point for games. Right in line with the GBA games...

Heres the thing about it tho: DS games are significantly cheaper to make....but NOT significantly more expensive to develop, as stated by Nintendo in their conference call yesterday.
AND Nintendo seems to have smaller royalties on each DS game...so why arent the games themselves actually cheaper overall?

profit friendliness for developers.  If a developer can make more money on a system then they will be happier to develop for it.  More developers means more success, more success means more money, more money means happier nintendo, happier nintendo happier everyone, except sony.

Cd's are cheaper to make than GBA carts and I belive Sony charges less to make games for the Ps2 than Nintendo. I guess they feel $34.99 is a good middle ground for ds games.

Blackknight: This has been said over and over again: DS games are cheaper than GBA games. GBA games cost around 50 USD everywhere but in the US. The US just got em much cheaper. If they got the international pricing they'd pay 70$ for a GC game and 50$ for a GBA game.

HAHA, Narnia.
I'll call this a rumor.  If true, good, because apparently sports games sell horribly on the GBA, so strong DS sports support will be needed early on.
As for pricing, I think Nintendo will go with GBA-like pricing whether this post is legitimate or not, because people are used to paying that price for handheld software.  Why give up extra profits by making the games cheaper?  It also leaves more room for price cuts later on...Gameboy has never had to have "Player's Choice" titles because it never had any real competition.  A library of cheap, popular games will be a must for DS to combat PSP.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Plus, seriously, with EAs line-up, anyone could make something like this up and actually be right.  I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if those games came out, but I don't buy this story.

Madden as a launch is NOT a lie, I promise. Not that you know that what a promise from NileBoogie is worth but trust, behold and belive that Nov 21, Madden2005 will be on The Nintendo Ds with touch screen HotRoutes and audibles.

This is very very believable.

Look.  Its a very small list of games, and they are EA Sports biggest games.  They would all come from 4 different teams, and since EA is one of the largest 3rd party developers it is very doable for them.

Too bad they couldn't push SSX Twist out alittle faster, because that would of been a great game.

So we are looking at:

Madden NFL 2005
and
SIMS: The Urbz

As EAs big launch games.

I wonder if Goldeneye really is just a port of the Nintendo code if with Nintendo's help they can get that game primed and ready for launch...then we could have a 3rd EA game for launch.

If this was true it would confirm that DS games will be $35-$40, as reported back in July...

I understand that GBA games are more expensive out of the US...but thats the thing. Im talking exclusively about how they are priced in the US, because that is all I know and need to worry about. I gotta admit tho, its rather naive of me to expect games to be cheaper when it makes the most sense to make them pretty much the same price and just soak in the extra profit.

On this post's legitimacy, I cant really say either way, but touchscreen routes and audibles make sense. It would practically be more work to purposely not put them in than to just implement such obvious features.

I am looking forward to this one.  I hope we can play over the internet.   If so, then can we play other console owners?

"Madden @ launch just as I promised."

Oh yeah like that shows you really knew what you were talking about.  I predict it's going to rain sometime between now and the end of the year.  On January 1 I'll make sure to mention how I was right.

Anybody could have just pulled Madden out of their ass.  The odds of it being a launch title were like 99.9%.

I just got a memo on my desk that says the PS3 will launch with a Madden game and the Revolution will launch with some sort of Mario themed game.
