I think I'll do better this week but, I really need the Titans to play well.

Ooh, tall order there! Are you a Titans fan, or are they just your wild card for the week?

I live in Nashville.  Was a fan when the franchise moved and for several years afterwards but, I drifted off.  Stat wise comparing the two I think they have a chance but, realistically probably not.

Insanolord, I'm calling you out: explain your team's performance! :P

They played pretty well for most of the game, but they opened up and especially finished poorly. McCoy looked good the whole game, as did Haden. The running game didn't play that well; maybe the Madden curse is kicking in for Hillis, or maybe it's because the right side of our O-line isn't very good, and our pretty good left guard is out for the year with a rookie taking his slot. Joe Thomas may be the best left tackle in the league, but that doesn't mean much if the rest of the line isn't up to snuff. One of their biggest problems was stupid penalties, which they got way too many of. At one point they got an unsportsmanlike conduct on a guy on the bench for knocking over an official.

I see. So do you think the problem will be fixed in time for this week's game? I've got them trumping the Manning-less Colts, but I'll admit that their loss makes me feel less comfortable with that than I'd like...

Speaking of picks, I'm going

SEA @ PIT
 OAK @ BUF
 ARI @ WAS
 TB @ MIN
 JAC @ NYJ
 CHI @ NO
 CLE @ IND
 KC @ DET
 BAL @ TEN
 GB @ CAR
 -----------
 DAL @ SF
 CIN @ DEN
 HOU @ MIA
 SD @ NE
 ----------
 PHI @ ATL

STL to win Monday, total score 41. The only games I'm not confident on are the CLE/IND, WAS/ARI, and STL/NYG.

My picks for Week 2 are: Buffalo, Green Bay, Detroit, Cleveland, Minnesota, Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, Dallas, Denver, Houston, New England, Philadelphia, and New York. I say 41 total points in Monday's game.

Going with some clear favorites (New England), a few upsets (Chicago), and some borderline hopefuls (Cleveland).
This is where I would write something witty or funny if I had any ideas.

I think the Browns will bounce back. They're better than they played on Sunday, and Indianapolis looked awful. Everyone picking them is making me nervous, though.

Buffalo, Green Bay, Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Jersey/B, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Arizona, Dallas, Cincinnati, Houston, New England, Philadelphia, and Jersey/A (45).

Hopefully I won't need a miracle field goal (63 yards? I know it was in Denver, but still....) to be .500 for the week.

Were you the one who picked the Titans? Well done: you might have been the only person in the country who called that one!

In other news, Neal has repeated as the week's champion, so congrats on that. Everyone who got their picks in did pretty great, though: it's hard to be proud of missing only three when no one missed more than four! I hope the two people who forgot to log on this weekend come back, though.

This week is going to be hard for the Eagles since Vick is hurt. Looks like I am in the middle of the pack so far.
Maxi is dead. I killed him and took his posts and changed genders.

The Eagles without Vick are definitely less than they could be (and I blame his injury for my losing the week!), but props to Kafka for stepping up like he did. Considering you're playing the Giants at Philly, I think the drop at QB isn't going to be near enough to stop you from winning.

I swear most years there is an injury to the Eagles QB. Thankfully we have good back ups in the position.

Hmm it seems that Vick can play this week versus the Giants. I'm pretty confident about the game now.

And the last of my minor concerns for that game vanish. Which is why the Eagles will now lose, 28-10. :-/

Speaking of picks! There's still plenty of time, but only three folks have submitted them as of now: don't forget to put in your choices everyone. Neal must fall!!!

JAC @ CAR
DET @ MIN
SF @ CIN
MIA @ CLE
NE @ BUF
NYG @ PHI
DEN @ TEN
HOU @ NO
----------
NYJ @ OAK
BAL @ STL
KC @ SD
ATL @ TB
ARI @ SEA
GB @ CHI
----------
PIT @ IND

Monday game is Dallas over Washington, 21-20. Lots of games I'm ambivalent about this week, and I doubt we'll be averaging 13-correct this time around. Also, lame Sunday Night game; when does NBC get to start choosing that game? November, correct?

Correct, November. Though to be fair, NBC called that game before Peyton went down and the Colts entered the "Suck For Luck" championships.

Kerry Collins is horse ****. Painter isn't all that great, but he should have been playing the entire game...and season. The Colts' defense was pretty amazing last night, but unfortunately, their offense was basically garbage.

How about Darren McFadden yesterday? That guy had one of best stat line's i've ever seen for a RB.

Also, the Bills are the ****! What an amazing game! **** the Pats!

The Texan's Saint's game was pretty amazing as well. Lots of crazy plays, but man...Drew Brees...if he knows how to do anything, it's to win.

I admit, I'm starting to Bill-ieve I'm so sorry...

If they were to start showing up for both halves, they'd be the most terrifying team in the AFC right now.
