The key is lower than expected earnings, the still made money from the video game end, it was the movie side of Sony that lost all the dough.

Keep dreaming, Sony aint going anywhere, at least not yet.

Job cuts and huge financial losses are bad news for everyone in the company, including SCEA.

I predict SCEA will be the next arm of sony to post huge losses.

And let me just say this; if the rumors are true that the PSP is having serious production and design difficulties, well, the future doesn't look good for sony....

They are still spending over 700 million dollars on game development, give me a break. They are fine.

Spending money and making money are two entirely seperate things.

Also here's a great quote from Perrin Kaplan:

"When we increase our market share, it's not from Microsoft. It's from Sony." says Kaplan.

Many people "in the know" predict that sony will lose at leat %60 of it's current installed base during the next round of video game wars. Ouch!

So let's get this straight, first sony posts an enourmous financial loss, then they cut 20,000 jobs, psp is having serious production problems, and every day sony loses more of their market share. Seriously, it's not looking good for soon to be former, no#1.

As for the psp info, sorry I can't post a link. What I know, and what many others are starting to find out, can best be considered "insider information." The kind that get's people sent to jail on wall steet. I'm just here to spread the info you can't read elsewhere.

How come whenever someone posts a "Nintendo is going under" thread or something like that you get on their back, Yuji, but you can post these "Sony is going under" threads? Kind of a double standard.

Well, logcially, if one believe Nintendo was not going under and Sony was, then it would seem natural for them to disagree with people saying Nintendo is going under and to tell people how Sony is- just my view on things. I don't really want to get too much into this since I don't need entangle myself with another AgentSeven, regardless of whether or not it actually IS him.

let me say this AGAIN for the slow people, I can not provide a link to the information reguarding the PSP and it's major production and design difficulties.

do you people honestly think I get all of my video game industry infromation from the web? seriouslly, the web is the biggest tool of dis-information there is. somethings you have to find out in person...

although, if you do a search for info reguarding the psp and it's problems, you may find a tantalizing clue here of there. there was the hint miymoto dropped about the "problems," among other things....

How does that answer anything about PSP?

That is Sony Ericsson, which is concerned with building cell phones, and all that basically said is that they would move away from CDMA to the GSM, as it is a faster growing coding for Cell Phones. How does that say anything about PSP?

I don't question whether sony is losing money, for the last 15 years sony has been losing money, thats a given. What I question is when you say psp is having major issues and then say you can't give any stories and even if you could the internet is stupid.

I didn't mean anything by it. I hated AgentSeven, but I don't hate Yuji. If they are one and the same, I still don't really care. People can change.

I'll hate Yuji if he does something to make me hate him. He just better not turn back into AgentSeven or I will...be.....sad....or something.....

I dont give a crap if he is agent7 or not, the point is he makes outlandish claims and fails to back them up with any links or evidence of any kind, then gets pissy with people who question what he writes.
Who he is is irrelivent, what he does is what bothers me.
