Next week will see a critically acclaimed adventure title hit the Switch, with some unexpected co-op play.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which debuted on the Xbox 360 in 2013, will release on Switch next week for US$14.99. A preorder discount (10% off) is available now for the game.

The Starbreeze-developed, 505 Games published adventure game stars a pair of brothers named Naia and Naiee, who attempt to save their father from a potentially fatal illness. Brothers is perhaps known for its "single player co-op" play, in which the two brothers are controlled with separate analog sticks and the game's director Josef Fares (A Way Out) allegedly claiming he'd rather "chop his arms off" than have co-op support. Despite this, the split nature of the Joy-Cons means that the Switch version will feature local co-op.

It's a cool game and creators refusal to implement local co-op makes sense if you actually play the game.

This game should also have one of best uses of Switch's gimmicks.
