Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this make it the first week Nintendo has held all of the top 10 spots in Japan in years?  I'm too lazy to go looking through, but I think the DS topped out at 8 or 9 of the top 10 itself, and didn't have any help getting those last few.  The Wii though has done that, or so it would seem at this point.

No.  I know for a fact I saw the top ten all DS this year but I'm not diving into the DS sales thread to verify it.

Parsed for my amusement. (and to test general famitsu parser...)

Actually, it's happened twice in the past year.

Weekly software sales for 8/21 - 8/27 - All DS
Weekly software sales for 1/1 - 1/7 - 8 DS, 2 Wii
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Sweet.  That's awesome.  So this is becoming a trend?  How can 3rd parties not want to make games for these two systems now?

No, third party games that don't recieve the same amount of attention in development as if they were being created for the PS2 don't sell on Nintendo systems. The fact that a large section of those games are ports or are dumbed down adaptations of Xbox/PS franchises doesn't mean that high-quality stuff created specifically for Nintendo (see Gyakuten Saiban 4) won't do business.

Looks like Nintendo takes the Top 16 of the Top 20 for a total of 18 of the Top 20 and 22 of the Top 30. Now that is what we call Nintendomination!

Lol, even the 360 managed to slip 2 titles into the Top 30 where the PS3 is no where to be found. Not bad for a dead system even though its direct competition is on life support as we speak.

Here are some more #'s from the week that didn't make the Top 30

Actually you said that last week was golden week and I was sort of waiting for this weeks numbers they normal come today or tomorrow.  You're just a busy person....

I'm glad MS finally made it on there.  Now I don't have to worry about them wigging something out.  With a 1st party to boot.

TO be honest I don't know the exact dates of Golden week, but it should have taken place near the last week of April or 1st week of May, and usually sales #'s are usually hard to come by at those times cause they aren't usually officially released. until the week after (2 combined weeks of sales).

And yes, these #'s are a little early, but WOW at the Wii 5 pack in the Top 10.

Actually I think the upcoming charts for the week after this weeks charts are for Golden week. SO we may or may not have charts for the next week until the following week.

Hardware Estimates for 04/23 - 04/29:

DS ~ 200k
Wii ~ 75k
PS2 & 3 ~ 10k

As we can see from the latest charts, the PS3 has just managed to outsell the PS2. Since previous charts have shown that the PS2 is outselling the Wii, it only leads us to the conclusion that the PS3 is outselling the Wii by the transitive property.

While the PSP sold 4,031 more units then everyone below it combined.  Making it the best selling non-Nintendo system for the week.  Meaning that if every week from here on out is the exact same as this week in ~11 weeks the PSP will sell more then everyone under it for the year.  If things stay the exact same as they are now it will take the PSP ~306 weeks or ~6 years to surpass the GBA's lifetime sales.

The Wii sold 38,833 more units then everyone below it combined.  The Wii has beaten LTD all Next Gen competitors except the DS and PSP if you want to include them.  It will take the Wii, if things stay exactly the same as this week, ~203 weeks or ~4 years to surpass the PS2 Lifetime Sales.

While the DS sold 89,852 more units then everyone below it combined.  So for every other system sold there was ~1.5 DSes sold this week.  Also it will take the DS ~16 weeks, if every week from here on out is the exact same, to surprass the PS2's lifetime sales.  If things stay exactly as they are now it will take the DS ~359 Weeks or ~7 years to surpass the lifetime sales of everyone below it combined, for the curious that would mean the DS would had sold 108,535,496 Units; which, according to projections, would mean that ~1.5% of the World Population at the time, ~29.8% of the projected North American population, or ~85% of the 2005 Japanese population.  Same disclaimer, it would take the DS ~54 weeks or ~1 year 2 weeks to surpass the Lifetime sales of all listed Non-Nintendo Systems combined.

For every Non-Nintendo system listed sold LTD there was ~1.42 Nintendo systems sold.  For the posted week for every non-Nintendo System listed sold there was ~5.76 Nintendo Systems sold.

Just for kicks:
If everything stays exactly the same as this week:
The PS3 will take ~263 Weeks or ~5 years to surpass the GameCube Lifetime Sales and ~94,701 weeks or ~1,821 years to surpass the PS2's lifetime sales.
The 360 will take ~1,276 Weeks or ~24.5 Years to surpass the GameCube Lifetime Sales

Yeah, those estimates have been a little off for about two weeks in a row now. But hopefully these Hardware #'s are the results of the increased production and not just because Nintendo was holding back systems for the last few weeks.

edit: According to NeoGAF, expect last weeks chart April 30th - May 6th charts to pop up this week too.
Software tonite, Hardware tomorrow, and we should be back on track for MC charts. I guess GW was the week of the 26th and I was so busy(and w/o internet connection) that I didn't really notice that a whole week had slipped past me.

Ceric:

Just for kicks:
If everything stays exactly the same as this week:
The PS3 will take ~263 Weeks or ~5 years to surpass the GameCube Lifetime Sales and ~94,701 weeks or ~1,821 years to surpass the PS2's lifetime sales.
The 360 will take ~ 1,276 Weeks or ~24.5 Years to surpass the GameCube Lifetime Sales

thats just embarrassing
