Everytime a major story develops I always check the main page here first. So I can read what Ian Sane has to say about it.

Hahaha. Gotta immediately find out what the dissenting opinion on the news will be, huh?

Of course lol.

Back on subject a bit. These old GCN threads are just fantastic. I've been reading through a lot of them.

God I was such a try too hard douche nozzle poster 15 years ago...

With Rancid Planet, Arbok and Rodney Dangerfield posting, this thread has shown me that even though we may not see a lot of the famous residents and posters of the past making many comments here, these users are still around and haven't necessarily abandoned us. They're mainly just lurking now. But knowing they're still around and out there and checking in from time to time is some solace.

I've def been lurking more lately. But yeah I'm always around brother. Once you find the best nintendo fansite and the only group of real Nintendo fan boys you'd ever want to hear from, you don't forget it.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: F-Zero AC/GC Discussion
« on: August 31, 2018, 03:35:56 AM »
F-Zero GX is basically the F-Zero franchise to me. I can't get into the 2D versions and the 64 is alright for the time but compared to the leap GX makes in, well, everything, I'd just rather play GX then the 64 version. The game should be in everyone's GC library. It's as much an essential as Melee as far as I'm concerned. A perfect blending of Nintendo and Sega. Yet to ever be repeated.

Recently, Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi did an interview in Edge Magazine and some sites quoted a few highlights from it. He talked about his time in developing F-Zero GX and had this to say:

Quote
After it released, I got a call from Nintendo. They said they wanted to see all the source code for the game, and wanted me to explain how we’d made that game, in that timeframe and with that budget, in detail. They were wondering how we’d done it – they couldn’t figure it out. We were able to achieve something a lot higher than what Nintendo had expected.

Maybe they didn't show them the source code and that's why we haven't seen a sequel yet. There's a couple things to take from that. Nintendo obviously considered F-Zero a lesser franchise back then based on the low budget and short timeframe they expected Sega/AV to make the game in and the fact that it turned out a lot better then Nintendo was even expecting the result to be. There's a reason why so many fans of the game would just be happy with an HD version of it and maybe online added if possible. I wish Nintendo had made some kind of arrangement with Sega for them to keep working on more F-Zero titles going forward but instead we got Mario and Sonic or some exclusive Sonic titles and AV has since disbanded. With the Super Monkey Ball GC games and F-Zero, I feel like Sega did some of their best work ever while working on the GC. That glorious cube.

I totally remember that feeling back in the Cube days that Sega partnering with Nintendo was such a beneficial deal and such a positive thing. It was two former rivals teaming up to bring us some great games.

Looking back it really is sad that the relationship never again felt as special. I guess I didn't notice with the Wii because there was so much love from other developers early on in it's lifespan.

But I feel it now.

I want an F Zero that rivals GX. I think we all deserve it.

I'm honestly surprised about how little posts this topic has considering how much content the game has and how it is the best F-Zero game there is.   I think we can fault this forum for not having another F-Zero game since.

I can never get enough of this game. I dusted off the Cube a few months ago (literally dusted. It was dusty. I dusted it) and was surprised by how fun it still is and how amazing it still looks. This game creates a feeling of speed unlike any other racing game I've played. To the point of it making me a little sick at times.

I'd put it right below Double Dash and just above Burnout 2 for my favorite racers I played on the GCN.

Bumpasaurus Rex!

Nintendokid probably worked for Sony and was paid to make Nintendo look bad on as many forums as possible.

Clearly he is the reason that the GCN lost the war.

Well played Nintendokid.

Well played indeed.

Talk about a blast from the past!

Yeah. I wound up working on a euro nintendo themed fansite which totally sucked upon the balls of a donkey. It basically worked me to death and ruined being a Nintendo fanboy for me for a long time. Well that and how successful the Wii was.

It is so much more fun to care about something when nobody else does.

Hobo Pill is back to hypnotize me. Just when I thought I had my free will back...

Shy guys don't have free will. Don't blame me. Blame Wart. Stuff a vegetable in his mouth and shut him up. Plus his eyes look like aspirin tablets.

Thanks guys, glad to be back. And to think if I hadn't had such a fun experience on the night the GameCube launched I never would've found this place while looking for a forum to express my joy at how awesome Rogue Leader was.

I think it's worth pointing out that what largely made RE4 so damn great was it's insistence on gidding rid of what didn't work and adopting anything new that did. I don't want a return to the old RE universe in all honesty. I mean that in regards to both gameplay and storyline.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Party 8
« on: January 24, 2007, 12:27:20 PM »
On the basic concept of Mario Party for the Wii I'd just like to say I think that this is exactly what the franchise needs. I'm wure we're all in agreement that the series is getting a tad old-hand and I'm of the opinion that the series has been in complete downhill mode since Mario Party 4 which still pwned but not like the N64 incarnations.

But having said all this I'd like to point out that one of the main problems with the series as of late hasn't had anything to do with play control or mini-games. It's been about depth and the board map in general. They've just been less epic over the last few games and it sucks. Mario Party 2 and 3 blow the newer games out of the water in this regard. I'd like to see more attention paid to the environment of the game this time. Although I know I shouldn't get my hopes up. Nothing Nintendo has shown me lately on the presentation end of things, great as they might be as games (Wii Sports) is bending my mind these days. What I'm hoping for would go against the controversial Nintendo philosophy of "great, small games" that make Nintendo a fortune by saving them huge bank in the development arena.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wii demand slowing? Or is Gamespot full of crap?

Of course the demand for the Wii is down. It's after Christmas. The demand for everything (including a good way to get rid of my Christmas tree in a legal fashion that doesn't involve the words "gasoline" or "Grandma's house") is going down. Mostly because of the fact that everyone is broke now (and because I figure it looks good sitting in the back yard turning brown next to a garbage can that is oddly enough rusting to the exact same shade of brown).

At the end of the day though it's about how much the Wii is dipping in demand and if that amount is justifiable. Which I think, by the way, it is. But to expect the Wii to be on demand like it was pre-January would be as ludacris as fried chicken and beer. The whole gaming world is on fire with hot sales during that part of the last quarter of the year.

- That's the time of year that hardware and software developers and publishers make all of the money back from the other ten months of their huge, miscalculated failures.

The rest of the year just can't be as nice.

HUZZAH! In fact...HUZZAH!...once more because there are far too few HUZZAHS these days by my reckoning.

Thousand Year Door was one of those totally undervalued masterpieces that graced the GCN. The fact that it and games like Tales of Symphonia that actually try and give you something new with adventure/rpg gameplay aren't bigger success stories simply makes me sick.

I am SO putting money aside for this game. I absolutely cannot wait.

I'm not saying that this is what's happening but could you really blame Nintendo, after all that's gone wrong with their last two home consoles, for holding back on Wii production because they're still waiting for the other shoe to drop?

I can just imagine a board of directors meeting at NCL or NOA. Everyone sitting around going "I just KNOW it. Tommorrow morning on the front cover of every gaming magazine on the planet it's gonna have a big headline that says "The Nintendo Wii: For Retarded Homo Babies?" and then that's it, we're done, over, FINISHED!"

Screw the battery life. You aren't playing with your Wii enough. Now go back in your room and don't you come out untill you've played with it for at least three hours. Don't worry you won't go blind but you may get hand cramps.

Actually that was about as serious as I get. Take that for whatever it's worth.

What I described to you are ideal situations for you to be a pimp in. Those situations might not always occur and of course if you've already boned up and "acted like yourself" around her then none of the pimp stuff would work to that large of a degree anyway. Save the pimping for a girl you don't know. Someone you can fool...then nail like a piece of wood. Trust me it will work.

As for your current situation you still need to be a pimp. Women aren't complicated and neither are men. Men want a girl who acts interested in them and women want a laid back, super confident guy. It makes them more relaxed and that's what all women are after in the end, comfort. So make her comfortable, get her relaxed, use some pimpatude...then ask her to go for a ride on the old baloney pony. You'll be in like Harley Quinn in no time.

Oh, but even if you're confident and STILL get shot down, always remember you have to  KEEP being confident even afterwards. You know, adopt the attitude of "You know you want me". I know it sounds like it would be irratating and it would be to another hetero guy that was around. But forget those clowns because you're not trying to get THEIR panties off are you? But I assure you that if there is one quality that works for wooing all females it is confidence.

So use your skills and if it doesn't work out then just show her your pimp hand and walk. If you walk away at the right moment under the right circumstances you'll have a better than average shot at her showing up at your doorstep and being all like "I messed up. I really wanna be with you" then the panties will shoot off so fast you'll think the elastic snapped.

50
All I can tell you is be a pimp. Act like a pimp, think like a pimp...uhm don't DRESS like a pimp because she'll just laugh her ass off. But everything else = PIMP.

--------------------

Scenarios for your pimping skills:

1.) She says "You're so great" or "You're so funny" = You say "I know".

And say it stone cold. We're talking like Han right before he gets the carbonite bath in Empire. Say it cold. "I know".

2.) She asks you about an outfit and how it looks on her, asks how her butt looks in her pants, asks you ANYTHING about how she looks = You should always first seriously answer her and then tell her how much better she'd look naked. Then smile so you don't look like a stalker or something. She'll laugh and say how funny you are = you say "I know".

3.) Anytime you get the chance, rail on every guy she knows. Her dad, her brothers, any guy she works with, any guy that ever dated her, hell anyone she went to grade school with. Slam them at all costs. And then remind her of why you kick way more ass then them. Do it in a cute way though. This is when you want to be clever. Remind her that you're also smarter than them too.

4.) If she asks for a favor of any kind = YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SAY NO. Always. You aren't her "freind" and you don't want to be. You are a PIMP and pimps always say no...at first. Make her beg for your assitance. Then you can say yes. But establish a condition. Anything. Tell her she has to cook you dinner in exchange for picking her up after work or helping her move or whatever.

And when you finish helping her out and she says "Thanks you're so great!" say "I KNOW" and then turn and walk away.
------------------

Follow these examples ONLY if you want her to rip your clothes off and devour you whole.
