Why was Nagoshi in the Switch presentation?
« on: September 19, 2019, 09:23:28 AM »
The producer for the Yakuza series got up on the January 2017 switch presentation to talk about how he wants to make an interesting game for switch, but nothing came of it.

Do you think it was cancelled, still in development or he was just speaking on behalf of Sega?

Best guess he was probably there cause he's pretty high up Sega's ladder.

Wouldn't be the first time a developer from a third party talked about being interested in Nintendo's new hardware but didn't deliver anything for it.

The difference is that Switch is kicking names and taking ass. Ken Levine, for example, talking up Wii U left fans skeptical at best.

It may be kicking butt now but, at the time, Nagoshi may not have been expecting it to have this success and didn't really have anything planned by betting on it having a Wii U / GameCube type sales life.
