TalkBack / Re: Six Ways to Get Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby Demo
« on: October 21, 2014, 12:57:29 PM »
FYI, I received demo codes on my Pokemon.com account and both my kids' Pokemon.com accounts.  I activated my kids' accounts last month for the PTCGO PC game, but didn't opt-in for newsletters from them until last week when the demo announcement was first made.

I also talked to a friend of mine who's opted-in for the newsletter, and he hasn't received his yet.  So keep checking that inbox!

So, am I right to see that the only way you can spend real money on these cards is to buy physical packs and use the code redeem in the packs?  The listing on the iOS App Store says "Uses In-App Purchases" but for the life of me I can't figure out how to purchase PCoins or anything else.

Also, if you don't mind waiting to be frugal, but you'd like to buy some packs in-game, both Troll&Toad and CoolStuffInc will sell the code redeem cards for ~$0.39/each, which is a lot cheaper than buying physical packs that you may never use.

I'm looking forward to playing this w/ the kids (There's also a PC/Mac client for PTCGO as well.)

All I want to know about this game is:

When you Par/Birdie, does Wario still pat his butt and say "WARIO HOT STUFF!"?

If you want to discuss the Gamecube hardware you really need to include the Wavebird.  IIRC, it was the initial 1st-party wireless controller, had an incredible battery life (due to no rumble pack) and was an absolute tank throughout the years.  I setup our Gamecube for the kids to play SSBB and Animal Crossing on -- the Wavebird works just as well as my 360 controllers do.

NOOOOOO NOT MILON'S SECRET CASTLE

I might hate myself enough to put me back through that game.  I can still vividly remember all of the thrown controllers at JonnyNWR's house attempting to beat that game.  Horrible, horrible memories.

My only regret with X/Y is that it's going to be until December and the PokeBank launch before I can transfer over my living Pokedex to Gen6.

Fave game of the series (so far) would go to Diamond -- simply because it's the one I truly started with.  I had a copy of Blue that I bought on my honeymoon . . . but I wasn't about to be "that 23 year old guy asking 9-10 year olds to trade Pokemon".  So I shelved the series until they added online trading.  I mean, I GOTTA catch em all, right?

Nintendo Gaming / Problems with MySims for Wii?
« on: September 22, 2007, 03:19:10 PM »
I bought MySims on launch day, and while the game has been really good so far, I'm noticing a very very disturbing performance problem with the game.  All throughout the game it will pause/lag/hang for anywhere from 1-5 seconds at a time:  walking around the city, trying to prospect, rearranging something in someone's house, etc.  And while it's hanging, there is a God-awful disc-reading noise coming from the Wii.  If I swap to another game, it doesn't make the noise at all.

Has anyone else w/ this game had this problem?  The only other place online I've looked for a thread on the game was GameFAQs, and there's enough people complaining about it there to make it seem like something's wrong with this game -- be it a disc production error or something wrong w/ how they arranged the information on the disc.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,
DrHogie

Nintendo Gaming / RE: They REMOVED "You Spoony Bard!"
« on: January 09, 2006, 07:43:22 AM »
That's good to know  I'll try to power through a few hours in the game to see how it goes.  I thought I read the game was based on hardtype, which really confused me.

Thanks for the good news

I've got to get to the "spoony bard" comment before I can comment on it.

What I'm noticing is they'd dumbed down the enemies a RIDICULOUS amount so far.  Example:

I was running around the field around Baron in the very beginning of the game.  NONE of the Imp/Goblins attacked.  Even in a party of 6 Goblins, they all sat there without attacking waiting for me to pick them off 1 by 1.  When I saw a second party of 6, I defended over and over again to see how long it would take them to attack.  After about 15-20 defends, one of them finally attacked.

The MistDragon was similar.  This enemy actually attacked a few times, but she took sooooooooooo long to convert to Mist form all it took was a single attack afterwards to kill her.  I remember her turning into Mist twice normally.

Is anyone else experience this "all enemies are fighting in molasses" effect, and does it last throughout the entire game?

Sorry to threadjack,
DrHogie
