Well matt, good to know you gave it a good chance and it turns out you liked it. I can completely agree with you. Its definitely my favorite 360 game. Its very in-depth and I bet you'll go through it more than two more times. I have some info for you though since you've changed your mind. If you're extremely interested in the game, there is a book out about by Drew Karpyshyn (if you don't know who he is, he's written two Star Wars books and a Baulder's Gate book as well) called: Mass Effect: Revelation. Its a prequel to the game. And hey, there's a sequel to the game coming soon!

Might I just say, Stan, Dude! You have the greatest most contagious laugh I have EVER heard. And it totally doesn't match your voice to be honest, in fact I thought it was John the first time I heard it, but to know that its you...I cry in laughter every time you crack up. Thank you sir for making this podcast THAT much funnier.

I have seen this played and I am by far impressed at the textures and graphics in general of this game. The voice acting is top notch and the stealth moves of snake are awesome. Especially when he's lying on his stomach and moving extremely slow so it looks like he's doing the worm! The only thing I have against this game is the same I do for Burnout Paradise. In Burnout Paradise there's a music track that does not need to belong in it: Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend. You can look and hear music from Snake's iPod and Hooooooooly crap there's some weird japanese music you wouldn't expect nor should you hear in a stealth game. But does that complaint really matter? No so that makes my comment all positive. ^_^

I am the only one I know to actually have all the achievements for it and 100% the game over 6 characters. I know this makes me a complete nerd and yes I have over 100 hours logged into it, but I love it. Not to mention the DLC that came out for it. That was 90 more minutes of bliss in that game. I love it.

Alright I apologize for the double post, but I found the greatest thing on youtube for old commercials. This is a compilation of a bunch of N64 commercials for their time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADND53b8KMM&feature=related

To go along with the old commercials part of the podcast. I remember and found the old Super Mario 64 "got milk?" ad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1vM3xIUe9s

I hope the farting of Wario is more useable than in Brawl.

36
Well this is actually quite interesting to me because I've never heard of ANY sales of any system in South Africa.

37
Well I have to say that with Crimm here talking about it on the podcast and reviewing it, I'm seriously looking into investing some wii points and money into this game, now I won't buy the extra content, but I'm certainly interested in getting the game.

Ah okay. I don't have one and I didn't work on the one day we had some so far since it came out, so I had no idea, but now I know. Thanks for the info ^_^

Well I work at GameStop so I've seen the Silicon mats for the balance board. In fact, they were on sale like 2 weeks BEFORE Wii Fit came out, which I found to be special. I have not seen the battery packs actually though, though apparently as from what I've heard the batteries drain pretty quickly so they might be useful. What I'm really wondering is when they'll release the balance board as a singular accessory so multiple people can play with one game instead of needing two copies.

Nope, the Wii version of Rock Band just reeks of laziness in every single aspect.
I agree and disagree. It should have the songs as downloadable content just like the 360 and PS3, however, I can't see it happening with the current set up of the way the Wii Shop Channel is. Its a bit hard to explain from my head, but I just can't see it work. Now of course putting 20 songs on a disc for $30 may not be attractive, but if you're on the 360 you're almost saving money. Songs are $2 a piece on Xbox Live. You're buying 20 songs I believe it is for $30. So you save a little, but its a hassle and you won't want all the songs on the CD which is where the negativity stands I think. That's where the laziness comes in. Now I think they could pull it off with Wii Ware.  But that's a stretch for Nintendo cause as we know, its hard for them to grasp online at this point.

I think it'll be interesting to see how a third game does. To have 3 rayman games in what? 2 years? I think this kinda sets a precedent really, but after the first one being one of the top launch titles for the wii and the second getting a bit more than mediocre scores, I think a third one might harm them, especially coming out so quickly. Now the concept works. But I can't say how many more I've sold of the second game as I did see the first one being sold since I work at GameStop. But then sales at one store doesn't prove anything really. I honestly can't be too confident myself really though. I did enjoy the first one however.

Podcast Discussion / Re: PODCAST: Radio Free Nintendo: Episode 100
« on: May 29, 2008, 03:06:55 AM »
Alright I just got done with the podcast now. I've listened to it over a span of 3 days cause I had to catch up from episode 97. First of all, congrats guys on 100 episodes. *raises a pint* Here's to another 100. First off, great podcast. I enjoyed it all. There wasn't one moment that I didn't enjoy. I've been listening since episode 1 and though I could never remember all the podcasts on my own, every moment that was brought up or at the end that was clipped, I remembered. So you got one great fan in me. I only expected to hear one clip that I didn't hear, it was my own fault for not emailing you guys about it, but then I don't know if it would've made it as this podcast was clearly long enough for you guys. I expected to hear the clip where you guys were doing listener mail on the obvious fan mail Greg gets. And I believe it was James who said that there should be his own bobble head and he replied with "That's exactly what the world needs a ghastly, bobbling representation of my face." I believe it was episode 98. But that moment is by far one of the funniest things I have ever heard Greg say. I greatly appreciated hearing the clip from the night John got drunk during the podcast and was talking about Magic and he left to go to the bathroom and you guys bashed on him. That was by far one of the funniest moments. So again guys, congrats on 100 episodes strong, keep'em coming and on a side note, I personally, do not mind the length of the podcasts. Making it an hour or hour and a half to two hours long doesn't bother me at all. I love listening to you guys talk about nintendo and other stuff that comes up. In fact, I'll let you guys in on something, when my 360 broke back in february and I had to send it in, all I had was my Wii and a couple games and to pass the time I listened to your guys' podcasts over and over and over while I had the sound turned down on my tv and played wii while listening. You guys do a great job and hey, if you ever need a guest to talk on the podcast with *wink wink* okay I'm ashamed for my plugging of myself... My ranting is done.

Alright well my laptop's power cord broke 7 weeks ago and I'm catching up to the podcast by listening to them in chronological order and I just hit the part in episode 90 where he's in line and the guy at gamestop is asking for reservations and the comments of gamestop living and dying by reservations is TRUE! I work there and my manager quite literally forces me to ask for a reservation of a few suggested games on each system in EVERY transaction. Now of course I oblige because the more reservations I get = more hours I get = the more valuable I am to the company. Now of course, the other thing we offer is that damn subscription to Game Informer. That is why its always offered to you. Its all true. We try to get you to reserve things. Now of course there is a plus side to the consumer. This DOES in fact guarantee you a copy that day, regardless of whether or not your gamestop store will have extras. I mean arcana heart came out on the PS2 last week. We got 2 the day it came out. 5 people showed up to get it. That means we had to shoo them away because they didn't reserve it when we offered it to them. Now of course with big titles like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there were extras. I bet anything there will be extra Mario Kart Wii copies as well, but whether or not you get the wheel without reserving is beyond me. I have no idea. And Grand Theft Auto !V. I bet anything there will be extra copies as well. Its the smaller titles you may want to reserve because those are the ones we get very few of. If you're a harvest moon fan, reserve it because its a smaller game and there may or may not be too few to get all the people who want it on the day it comes out. And just so we all know, I don't favor gamestop because I work there. I think I've been objective. I buy games at other places. I mean I got my 360 and wii at a k-mart. Explanation/Excuse? None.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Drawn to Life coming to the Wii
« on: February 08, 2008, 07:58:36 PM »
I dunno how well it'll do on the wii honestly. I mean you're hand can draw steadily on the DS because you're basically using a pen with no ink, but how steady is your hand really, when drawing something on a tv screen with a wii-mote? I'd like to see it, but I can't see it being great.

My games are as follows:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
NiGHTS
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
Pokemon Colosseum
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2

So that's what? 2 out of 6? So 33% of my games are 3rd Party.

Whoo! 2 hours of fun! I wish all my podcasts were this long. And I can answer what control style some tournaments for brawl will use. I did put it up in the brawl discussion forum, but let me summarize: Working at GameStop I found out through my managers and District Manager, that GameStops will be having tournaments for the midnight release of brawl (at least in my area) I instinctively asked what the control scheme would be and they said the wii-mote and nunchuck and because of my disbelief of it, they showed me the official papers. So at least for the GameStop launch Tournament, it will be the wii-mote and nunchuck.
