Although it looks like Boreout 3 will take the honors at the end, I can't wait to post this on Gamespot forums. I'm currently banned for having an offensive signature.

So what have been everyone else's favorite games this year and what games have had the biggest effect, good or bad? How do we not have a 2008 retrospective topic yet? Maybe I'll reformat this post at a time that isn't 2am.

My favorite game of the year is Metal Gear Solid 4.  It kills everything else by far.

As usual I'm hardly qualified to talk in a GOTY thread because I rarely game outside of a nintendo machine. Last few days I've been hitting Chrono Trigger hard but if that's eligible then I might as well say my GOTY was Prince of Persia Sands of TIme which I recently played through. I played this Half Life 2 mod, Insurgency, it's extreme but I hear it's technically a 2007 game. Wow thi post is worse than my first.
