Apparently he was sicker than was let on. Such sad news, he was a legend and will be missed.

Yeah, so some history was made today and I'm going to brag about my high school basketball team. For the first time in the school's history we made it to the final 4, and claimed victory! Lebron James' old school is in the same division, too.

@bustin98 I've just never cared for the whole superhero genre. I can't suspend disbelief enough for it.

Says the guy who can suspend disbelief long enough to get hooked on Animal Crossing... Maybe he's just a furry... ;)

Nintendo Gaming / Darksiders 2

Been playing the game for a bit, and I'm enjoying it. One feature I stumbled across is how sound is treated between the main character and the rest of the world. If you turn off the tv display and turn it back on, the game will leave Death's sounds on the gamepad, along with his horse's. Even cut-scenes are treated this way.

What I like about this is the effect creates a more effective atmosphere. It brings the action of the game closer. I don't know if this info will influence anyone's decision on getting the game, but it does seem a unique feature.

NWR Feedback / Java plugin required?
« on: June 21, 2012, 11:55:34 AM »
Recently I had some issues logging into the forums and even reading the pages of the site. I was told that my session was expired when logging into the site, and there were Java related error messages on the rest of the site. I was able to duplicate the problem on multiple computers. I cleared the cookies and cache to no avail.

I updated my java plugin and everything went back to working. No issue logging in nor reading content on the site.

Is there a reason for this? I like to read the site and participate in the forums through my android phone, but there is no mobile java so I am locked out. Is there a remedy? Am I the only one experiencing this? Did I miss a memo?

If you have a PS3 or Xbox, download the demo and lets play. This is a great game that emphasizes team work and upgrading skills and weapons. Only one map and 2 difficulty levels, but I've been addicted to it. You also max out at level 10.

Who's playing? Beast Mode is a change of pace, some changes to Horde, and 4 player online (2 offline) co-op makes the game worthy of putting time into it. Tons of unlocks too.
Look me up on Live.

My XBLA is bustin98 for anyone who doesn't know. I'm down for any team play, though I'm not a big forge fan. I can only take so much goofing off.

NWR Feedback / Problem posting in IE8
« on: August 11, 2010, 09:55:05 AM »
When using IE8 I get the following error:

The following error or errors occurred while posting this message: Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.

Not sure what is causing this. As far as I can tell I am still logged in. I can't log out using the logout link, but I did delete my cookies and restart the browser. To no avail. Did something change? This started about two days ago. I was able to post once after having this issue, but its still happening.

Edit: You couldn't resist, could you? For my needs, IE8 fits the bill. We all have our reasons for what we use to browse the web, and after using Firefox, Chrome, Safari, I still prefer IE8.

General Chat / Another request for the gang
« on: July 18, 2010, 04:08:43 PM »
Sorry if it seems like I'm turning this into a shopping center, but its just the way things kinda fall into place. Its not like I'm asking for people to do something for me that I wouldn't do for anyone here though.

I was at a Hot Topics Saturday and saw this cool Batman shirt, had him reaching up and the word 'Rise' was on the upper corner. It's a Blackest Night tie-in, I believe the image is a Black Lantern Batman. But they only had it in Large and I take a XL. I have searched the Internet up and down and have not been able to find it.

If you guys could keep this in mind next time you're in your local mall, or even comic shop, I would appreciate it.

« on: July 18, 2010, 12:14:58 AM »
Any one going to the San Diego Comic Con? I wish I could but being out east its just not feasible. Graphitti Designs has a booth and will be offering a limited Batman Arkham Asylum (video game) Battle Damage figure for $20. There are only 4,000 being sold. If one of our wonderful community members can swing this, that would be awesome and payment details can be worked out if its a success. There is also a limited Hal Jordan Black Lantern figure that would be great to add too.

General Chat / Good bye, Frank Frazetta
« on: May 11, 2010, 01:28:11 AM »
Frank was the the most awesome painter ever. He died today at the age of 82, and served to inspire pretty much every other fantasy artist since. I found great inspiration in his work too. He will be missed but he made a lasting mark.

General Gaming / Halo Reach
« on: May 06, 2010, 01:15:13 AM »
I feel like I'm cheating on my Monster Hunter pals, but Ive been playing the beta... It's so much easier to get into, and the matches don't take as long. What can I say, I'm a casual player and take my gaming in 10 minutes chunks.

It is just Halo, more of it, but I haven't played it in a while and I'm getting caught up with what I missed. The powers are interesting, and the new assassination moves are cool to watch. Once, I was saved during an assassination. That was really surprising and if they would have just did the normal rifle butt I would have been dead.

Anyone else play it yet?

24
So, I picked up Tats VS Capcom and yadda yadda, played it for a while, took it a friend's house to play, played it again, and it finally hit me.

It has a full color print disc!

Say what? Since the Gamecube, Nintendo has refused to to allow more than at the most 3 colors on disc art, usually 2 colors. Third party or first party. Pretty boring compared to the discs of other systems.

So I look at some recent games. New Super Mario Bros Wii has full color too! The Metroid Collection? Nope. Dead Space Extraction?... oops, lent that to a friend, don't know.

This could be a new direction of Nintendo making baby steps to appease Third Party publishers, or just late to the party. Any speculation on the significance of this change in policy? It is at least interesting to note that they are willing to change, though what the driving force of this decsion is a mystery.
