Nintendo Gaming / Re: Fragile - Namco ARPG

I pre-ordered this game from Gamestop because of the soundtrack. However the game came out DAYS ago and they still haven't even shipped it! Is anybody else having this problem? I was so excited for the game, but now I'm hearing other peoples impressions and the wait is really killing it!

I had forgotten that this was announced awhile ago. I will probably watch it, although I am not sure how good it will be.

I have generally been pleased with the quality of PBS's Concert Programs (When they're not destroyed by pledge drives every 15 minutes that is)

Zeldas music is absolutely tremendous! And hearing it orchestrated is amazing! (Eh Nintendo, Eh? How about it?)

The Chrono Trigger soundtrack is another one of my favorites.

General Gaming / Video Games Live on PBS
« on: March 15, 2010, 05:08:37 PM »
So this may be old news to some, but this June PBS will be airing VGL on it's concert series.
I am so excited! I have tried so many times to see it live, but it just never works out. Has anybody seen it?

I have been watching crappy youtube videos today and I had forgotten how much of an emotional reaction it elicits in me. I almost cried watching the Kingdom Hearts one. (probably not good, as I am currently on campus surrounded by people.)

Thoughts?

Geno! Please Geno! haha
But really, the great humor that all of the MRPG games have shared.
The beautiful style of the Galaxy games (Maybe even stylized a little diferently).
A fully orchestrated soundtrack.
I'd be sold!

Square and Nintendo should collaborate on a sequel that has the graphical out put similar to that of the Mario Galaxy games.

I absoultely agree! In fact, when I started playing that first part of Galaxy, the narative and feel reminded me a lot of SMRPG.

General Gaming / Re: Why do you still play games?
« on: February 21, 2010, 02:12:53 PM »
I have been playing games since about 1997 (I would have started earlier, but my dear parents thought they were "of the Devil")

I play because of the world it takes you to. I very rarely play games set in the hear and now because, well, that's where I'm allready stuck!

If I can be pulled in to a story and a world, get attached to the characters, and become emotionally invested in the cause, that's an incredible feeling. And I can't wait for the day where a game makes me cry.  ;D

Though Windwaker is my favorite Zelda game (and one of my favorite games of all time) I agree that Majoras Mask made a much larger impact. There is simply nothing else like it.

I play all of the time. It's one of the few reasons that I actually put up with Steam. Of course, I really, really can't fathom playing it on another platform... I like receiving loads of free updates though.

I still smirk when I think about some of the dialogue from Portal. :)

Yeah... I found out a few says later how much more full the PC version is. But whatever It's still loads of fun. haha
And yes! I played most of Portal in one sitting and I was chuckling to myself for quite a lot of it. Very clever.

I got my 360 a few months ago, and the other day I picked up the Orange Box. I've been having a bast playing Team Fortress 2 and I was wondering if anybody on here is still playing it?
And also what everybody thinks of the Orange Box as a whole.

This is one of my favorite games ever. The way that the story is presented, the music, and characters make it so endearing. The battle system is really great with the timing playing such a big part, almost as if it's a rhythm game. More games should have that system, though a good one to check out is Eternal Sonata which has a Blocking system that is similar.
I really wish that the characters (especially Geno) would make an appearance in another game. I would love to see them in the next Smash Brothers Game.
All in all, this is a great game, and I'm stoked that it's the RetroActive this time around.
