Nintendo Gaming / Re: Fragile - Namco ARPG

You should space your games out, like, with hobbies.

No amount of spacing games out could have made Fragile enjoyable, and I do try to spend some time with various animated series/movies but my time's pretty limited and stuff I want to watch lately has grown scarce.  I have about 3-5 hours a day of just free time to spend, so that's pretty much my gaming time.

I agree, I have almost NO free time these days, and I don't think I would recommend this to somebody who is short on time like me. It took me like 3 weeks to beat this 10 hour game. XP

Oh okay. that makes sense. I hear that Blockbuster is going out of business, that might account for the closing stores.

Netflix is leaps and bounds better than Blockbusters mail service (yes, I have both)

Why on earth do you have both????

n/m

YOU'RE A MASTER OF SUSPENSE!

Who is playing the game? What do you think of it? Are the controls really as bad as people that complain claim they are or is this another case of ****ty players (like the ones that couldn't handle Shinobu's platforming boss fight that was EASTY)?

I'm playing it at this point. I got it from Gamefly. The Controls are pretty bad, especially in combat. But the music, voice acting (at least for the Japanese version) visuals, and atmosphere are great. There was even a moment that genuinely scared me. I jumped pretty bad. haha
Mind you I'm only an hour or two in.

Okay. I just put it in and activated it and I agree. It's streaming beautifully! I am christening it with the Animatrix.

What a disappointing christening title...I hated Animatrix. It only solidified my distaste for the main trilogy. And it seemed to start off decently enough too.

It's alright, not amazing. I wanted to find a better christening title but didn't have much time before i left. If only Captain N was still on NIW. :(

Wow! I didn't know it was so exclusive! I got mine yesterday but I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet. I feel I've wasted a beautiful gift... haha

Sounds great! One more thing. Is the Online mode stuff just as robust in Heart&soul as it is in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum?

37
So you can get the newer pokemon in Heart&Soul, not just the ones that were available in the original Silver and Gold?

38
Okay, so I haven't had a Pokemon game since Yellow, but I have a Walmart Gift Card and I want to get back into the series! Are Heartgold/Soulsilver superior to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum?

Three words: Mario Kart Wii. Not only is it a great multiplayer game, but it also has one of the best online components on Wii.

And hey, how about giving your brother a link to this site?  ;)

That's not a bad idea at all. Then we could play online. Also, I totally told him about the site and showed him the podcast. :D

Thanks Maxi for the list of RPGs, and that Youtube Channel is awesome!

Walmart Exclusive Wii Deal
http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=3847.msg591530#msg591530

I don't know if they are still selling though.

Wii Console w/ Wii Sports, Wiimote, Nunchuck packed in as usual
+ Wii Sports Resort and Motion Plus bonus included for $199

Doesn't look like they're still offering it. But thanks anyway!

41
What is the wii sports resort bundle exactly? I haven't hear anything about it.

New Super Mario Bros is pretty grandios, I'm working through that one right now.

I might get him Brawl, since that's what the rest of us have been playing online (but yes, it really is laggy. haha)

The Conduit and No More Heroes are both games I've been planning on picking up myself, but haven't gotten to yet.

Now, I'm sure he'll be interested in the Last Story and Arc Rise Fantasia later this year (or maybe next) But are there any notable Wii RPGs out now? I haven't really played any.

42
Hey no problem Hero of Time.
If your Bro wants some titles for the Wii that might interest him let us know I am sure we can think of titles that go with his interests. :)

Well on that subject... haha
I'm going to get him Metroid Prime Trilogy, and my extra copy of Twilight Princess. Any other suggestions?

And since it's on the PSP it's portable, so now you can take it with you wherever you go.
Like the bathroom or behind that bush in the park?

Or the Bus, or School, or Church...

44
Well. I think that just about decides it. My brother is getting a Wii! Which is not to say that the 360 is inferior (Mine has been on all day, damn Halo) Nor is the PS3.
Thanks everybody so much! I would never have been able to think of all of those pros and cons on my own.

45
Judging by the response you gave I would go with the Wii. There is lots of retro games on the VC and Wiiware is a place to try out new ideas.

I think with the Wii your friends girlfriend will be able to watch and maybe help out with games. Zack and Wiki is a good example of games that can have local multiplayer without having to play against others.

I'm definitely starting to lean that way.

And here's another reason. Somebody mentioned that he must have a PC, and another person mentioned that most PC shooters are released on 360 (Sorry I don't remember who, I rather expected this thread to die before it started, but when I got out of class and checked it, there were tons or replies)
That reminded me that not only does he play a lot of those shooters on the PC (most recently Bioshock) But he and I had a discussion about how he actually much preffers PC shooter control over dual analog. In other words, almost all of the games he would want on 360, he already has access to in a setting he prefers. Where as the wii has the fore-mentioned exclusivity of the first party franchises.

I should've received an email from Gamestop by now regarding the complaint i made about my preorder not coming in with the soundtrack and the employees lack of knowledge of said sountrack, but i haven't. Time for another stern phone call?

Until I know for certain I'm gonna be compensated for ****ty customer service, this game is staying unopened. I just hope after i return it to this POS store I'll be able to find it elsewhere. Until then, I'll continue finishing my backlog of games, starting with MUSHROOM MEN that has some real control issues if you ask me.

That's probably the best way to go about it. If I come across the soundtrack (In other words if Gamestop ever sends the damn game) I will send it your way in ways that only the Internet can provide. haha

47
This could open a whole other can of worms, but I have to ask: why isn't the PS3 being considered?

Firstly, I'd like to thank Pale a ton for letting this stay, and thank EVERYBODY for being so cival and helpful.
Now,  In answer to insanolord, the reason that the PS3 is not in the runnning is the simple fact that ALL of the Groomsmen have wiis (And insane as it sounds, we actually do play online) And half of us have 360s (Myself included) where as none of us, nor any of is other friends that I know of, have PS3s. It's just that dumbly personal.

As to Netflix, I had COMPLETELY forgotten that Wii would be getting it. Thanks for the reminder!

My sister and his Fiance have an interesting relationship when it comes to games. Though she does not tend to play them herself, she DOES often watch him play. So on that note, I see a big pro for both. The 360 is obviously more graphically impressive, though I have no idea how much she would care. And the Wii has games like Zack and Wiki with its much more casual "multiplayer" mode that is actually pretty similar to watching it.

Another factor is the Virtual Console. My Brother is a HUGE Retro-Gamer.

48
Hmm very true, maybe I put too much trust in the internet. haha

49
So my brother is going to be getting married next month, and as a gift for the bachelor party me and the other groomsmen are going to buy him a game console. But which one??
They both have many pros and cons, and I want to get him one that he'll really use.
He's a huge Nintendo fan, especially of the Metroid and Zelda series. But he also is a big fan of shooters.
And this is kind of an aside, but he uses Netflix instant watch a ton.
Any suggestions?
