Are these the first real apps on the DSi then? All I've heard of before are the clocks and doodads that are nothing more than desktop Widgets.

Yes yes but we don't count Japan :P.

The maps are lame though, apparently there's only 5 cities per volume and it's only the capitals so unless you're traveling to a capital it's pretty damn useless. I'd have preferred per-country editions that cover ALL public transit. Hell, you can get complete information about public transit in several countries just from the german railroad homepage!

Shockingly, no releases in Japan this week.

This weeks PAL releases:

Phantasy Star for SMS on VC

3-2-1, Rattle Battle! (known in Japan as Atsui 12 Game: Furi Furi Party!) for WiiWare

Europe and North America both got the Flipnote Studio App for DSiWare this week, I didn't mention it in the previous post because it North America did not get it on Monday.

10 versus 5 versus 3.  Gee, you think Nintendo of America has given up trying to get more Wii users to go online?

Third parties haven't really given the Wii a fair shake. - Dequello

Since I started tracking in late May, Japan has gotten 4, 10, 5, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 10, 6, 12, 18, 0, 10. That is an average of 7.28 games per week.
North America has gotten 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 3. Not counting this week (to be fair to the average), that is an average of 4.72 games per week
PAL regions have gotten 4, 3, 2, 4, 3, 5, 5, 5, 4, 5, 4, 2, 4, 5. That is an average of 3.93 games per week.

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay for WiiWare

So far, I'm liking this even better than the first one!

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

This weeks European release:

Contra ReBirth for WiiWare

There is also a App for DSiWare called "6 in 1 Dictionary with Camera Function". This lets you translate a word from on language (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese) into another and lets you use the DSi's camera to translate a word.

Edit: After more research, it seems like only Europe got Contra ReBirth. Australia/New Zealand did not.
