I was just curious... what is the timeframe between a game launch, and when it becomes a "greatest hit"?

I don't know if there is a specific timeframe, but I think it's at least 6 months.   Virtual Fighter 4 is the fastest game to go to Greatest Hits I think.

I saw this some place and it said what it was. I think this is it: Game has to be out 9 months and sell 350,000 copies.
My systems: Jaguar/Jaguar CD, Saturn, 3DO, N64, Dreamcast, Genesis, NES, SNES, GameCube, PS2, Xbox.

9 months and **400,000** copies. So then why are we not seeing Final Fantasy X and Grand Theft Auto Three? oh yea because they are still selling well at $40 for FFX and $30 for GTA3.

it has to be out for 9 months and sell 400,000 copies to be in greatest hits. your right loserfish, gta 3 and ffx sell fine ate the normal prices so they wont put them in the program.nintendo should start to put more games in the players choice . sony has 27 games while nintendo has 3!! i know ps2 has been out for more time but still nintendo didnt even include all the launch games when they sold just fine. does anyone have info on how nintendo's players choice works? im curious.

Player's choice is just like greatest hits.  Games like Pikmin, and Luigi's mansion will retail for $29.95.
it was time for a change.

Well there not "Player's Choice", but Waverace, Sonic Adventure 2, Resident Evil, and Eternal Darkness can all be found for $30 or less.

And personally I don't want the games with stickers on them.
