So how about that Fallout 76 game?
« on: October 24, 2019, 07:27:59 AM »
Most bad games get slagged on for a couple of weeks and are than forgotten. The fact that this bad game keeps coming back into the spotlight is nothing short of impressive.

For those who don't know, Bethesda introduced a $100 a year subscription service for the game apparently. That has gone well.

Once Outer Worlds comes out, this should be its official thread. :P

*double facepalm*

For BMM: The $100 paid subscription service's unlimited item box currently destroys your inventory instead of saving it, and the private servers are not actually private.

Just...shut down Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda. Just publish games from now on. It's all you're actually decent at.

I'm currently watching through this 3 hour glitch montage.

for BnM

It's sad that for how good a job this video does at recapping everything it's now woefully out of date and it hasn't even been 6 months yet.

People are getting worried that this is a bad sign for Elder Scrolls 6. I'm hoping they realize how important it is to preserve that goose, but all they need to do is add multiplayer to it and I can see it going down the same path.

Even on Switch Skyrim still has a couple of really nasty bugs. Stay the **** away from stray dogs if Meeko isn't still alive. They can despawn while they're following you and than you can't get another pet follower. The only way to remove the despawned stray dog as a follower is to have Meeko follow you instead (for whatever reason it only works with Meeko) so you are SOL if Meeko is dead like he was for me. It triggered early enough for me to reload a save where the dog was still following me and dismiss it.

Honestly it's really frustrating to play these games on a console when half of the time, the only recommendations for when something goes wrong are "open the Console command menu that's only available in the PC version and type this command in to fix it" . The Stray Dog one was the only one that I felt was serious enough to warrant rolling back to an older save but there have been other things like the horse I'm riding just disappearing so I have to wait like 30 in-game days for it to respawn so I can ride it. I absolutely adore Skyrim as a game but for **** sake, play it on PC. You get mods that are supposed to be really good and you get the goddamn Console Command menu that lets you fix whatever breaks during your playthrough.

But there are good bugs too! Like some ways to get the Markarth Conspiracy quest rewards for each side, or the bug that gave me two Dawnbreaker swords so I could dual wield them in style. Hopefully they just give all versions access to the console commands to fix negative glitches in future games.

Apparently Bethesda violated some consumer protection thing with Fallout 76 and has to start issuing refunds. link

Well, they sold 1) private servers that weren't private and 2) an bottomless chest that deleted items.  I'd say that's a misrepresentation, lol.

apparently players who find bugs in the game and report them to Bethesda are getting banned now.

Apparently at least one of the dataminers they banned had a Fallout 1st subscription that they can't cancel.

So these days apparently armor loses half of it's defense when you reload and hackers started dumping leftover assets from Fallout 4 that were left in the game along with spawning legendary weapons for themselves.
