It's getting a rerelease because it has a pretty dedicated following. It's still the exact same game (with godlike netcode). The youtube sharing is interesting...

E3 news roundup!

Two new Smash Bros games - one for 3DS, one for Wii U. Here's an interesting article about what's going on with it: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/06/09/iwata_asks_smash_bros/

SF x Tekken has been a big hit with pretty much everyone who played it at the show, apparently. Ono says to watch for characters you'd never expect to be announced. There's also an extra-comfy new model of fight stick coming out with it. Cole from Infamous is in the Vita/PS3. No comment yet on who will be exclusive to the 360 version, if anyone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0lzqcK-tVI

Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls Skullgirls! I hear Parasoul is the next character they're going to show in motion.
http://revergelabs.com/2011/06/e3-is-over/

SF3 Third Strike Online Edition:
New features: new parrying training and challenges. Youtube uploading feature! There will be a remixed soundtrack by Simon Viklund (who you might remember from BIONIC COMMANDO REARMED - that **** is godlike) featuring Adam Tensta (the rapper in the trailer).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0P0NS480FU
Oh yeah, one of the challenges is to do EVO MOMENT #37 exactly:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS7hkwbKmBM

There's some sort of Tekken game coming out for Wii U and 3DS where you can draw on faces, I guess. You could get a glimpse of this somewhere in Nintendo's press conference.

The original Tekken Tag Tournament is getting a rerelease in HD as a pack-in with a new CG movie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcS3VNf6Nzw
Yes, it includes Tekken Bowling!

Are they ever going to show FOOTAGE of Skullgirls?
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

They might show some matches again on the stream since the tournament lasts all weekend. Also if you just want to see some top players do their thing in a serious tournament in a few different games...

Here's an interview with Harada with a lot of info about Tekken for Wii U. The PacLand stage owns.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA-1X2hXzug

An interview with Mike Z about Skullgirls. He says they have designs for 30 characters and want to do all of them; the number in game at launch will depend on how far they are when they hit the deadline.

I can let you all in on a little secret: DoA Dimensions is quite good. The review should be going up today. I haven't played Street Fighter IV 3D, but Dead or Alive packs some content into that little card...it's just too bad the 3D effect it's that great.

I can back this statement up. Owning both games,   DOA is suited for the 3DS far better than SF43D.  The four button system in DOA leads to silky smooth game play.Whereas my experiences with StreetFighter on the harder difficulties gave me the feeling that i was going to break my hand helds flimsy little d-pad.   Furthermore the online is passable if you stay in your region.  Though it is impossible to get a friend match.

I still haven't even bought MvC3 because I didn't feel it had enough content for a $60 game and now I find out that the Third Strike re-release is coming out soon?! I remember playing the hell out of that game and VF4:Evo on my PS2 (haven't played VF5 as much) when I was in high school. I've been playing Mortal Kombat a lot lately but I've cleared through the story mode once already and online is kind of laggy (I'm glad I only paid about $40 bucks for it) but it does have the nostalgic MK feel (which is good and bad). Plus they're also releasing a digital collection of MK,MK II and Ultimate MK III this summer even though I get a feeling that those games will feel very dated after playing the new MK game. I've never been great at fighting games but this is a great time to be a fighting game fan.

I was mostly putting my time into SSF4:AE in preparation for a local tournament (which I won!) and now I'm gonna shift over to MK9 for another tournament next month. I keep going back to MvC3 though - I think it's the most fun game so far this year.
