Well, is multiplayer mandatory in order to finish the game?

I didn't really think LBP was a game you "finished" as such.

I thought it was more of a creating tool that comes with a fairly hefty amount of premade levels.

Well, most people aren't terribly creative so all they get is stuff made by others.

There probably wont be an end is my point. There will be a constant flow of user created content. So you wont "finish" the game.

Well they said that there is an adventure mode so I think the co-op adventure mode has an ending while theres a open ended mode where you make your own stuff.

I think what puts LBP over the top is the crazy multiplayer aspect to it.  You can do 4-player co-op in virtually every aspect of the game.  You and three buddies can visit other people's levels, you can play through the main game 4-player co-op (both online and offline), and I know that at least 2 people can collaborate over PSN to design levels.

Whether you can really finish it or not is beside the point, I was more or less asking if it's mandatory to play with multiple people to solve the levels.

Nope, you can play it as single-player only if you so desire.

Today I pre-ordered LBP.
Got home.
I tried to peel off the sticky to see my promotional code, so that I could get the Kratos costume.
I sent an email to Media Molecule, and I asked what should I do.
I will wait for a reply. Any kind of reply. Hopefully a helpful reply.

I think you were supposed to scratch it off with a coin.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Hah yeah, i'd say scratch off is a safe bet.  Is best buy giving away the Nariko codes yet?

LOL! Thank you, vudu and Pale.
It's funny because the Socom beta code was a sticky and it looks exactly like the LBP scratchy, so I thought I was supposed to rip it off too.

Pale, you can.

I finally pre-ordered this from LameStop.  I hated the fact that they had the pre-order bonus that I wanted, because I HATE THEM.

I'm very close to pre-ordering this but I just have the fear the "core" game-play won't interest me long, similar to Blastworks.  Anyone else feeling this way?  Is it too muck to ask for Sackboy to punch other puppets in the face?

I think D_Average just said he doesn't like classic Mario platformers. ;)

True, that is one way to look at it.  However, the jumping and shell throwing in those games was so quick and responsive.  The jumping in LBP reminds me a bit of Lost Winds, kinda of sloppy and tricky to get just right.  Who knows though, it may be perfect for the game and a new experience I'll surely enjoy.  I really hope so, cuz the visuals are quite impressive.

Are you talking looks kind of sloppy, or based on your playtime in the beta?  I need to know how to weigh your opinion. :)

I'll agree that the jumping does appear floaty, but i've heard only good things from the podcasts and articles I've seen of the people that have played it.

Either way though, I can't wait to make some levels WITH other people.  That's the feature I think will be awesome.

By, "sloppy" I was referring to Lost Winds specifically.  Though LBP has some similarities w/ it in terms of floaty, I would expect a lot more accuracy in LBP given that there's no motion controls.

But unfortunately no beta for me, all based off videos.  I actually just picked up the PS3 last Friday, w/ this exclusive representing just another weight on the scale to shift me to Sony instead of MS.

Even if the game-play doesn't pan out to be all that stellar, I'll probably get it anyway just to get my wife involved as she's an artist and could do great things with the tools if she put some time into it.
