Nintendo Gaming / RE: August NPD sales
« on: September 20, 2003, 02:46:05 PM »
If you've played Nights the Billy Hatcher commercial is a trip down memory lane.

I'm suprised both Sonic games are in the top 10. Then again, it seems they dont have much competition, except Metroid Prime and Mario Sunshine (And Star Fox and Animal Crossing), why don't those guys sell? Jeez

To comment on what TYP said. Sonic Adventure DX didn't really get good sales. At least not compared to SA2:B.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Radio and Z Science, Gone but not forgotten.
« on: June 28, 2003, 12:55:45 AM »
While browsing some Zelda sites, I came across some sites that mentioned the illfated Zelda Radio and Z-science websites, two of the genius marketing strategies Nintendo did to make sure Majora's Mask was as successful as Ocarina of Time, which sadly, was in vain.

The sites aren't up anymore as of one year ago, but i've been browsing Webarchive and have found the oldwebsites, but stuff like the DNA Test and the movie clips from Zelda Radio seem to be lost forever.

A sad tale, I knew about Zelda Gaiden since its announcement. Somewhere along the way, I completely forgot, probaly when I got a Dreamcast, but I didnt know about the Majora's Mask thing until less than a month before the game actually came out, when someone posted a magazine ad, and nintendo.com put up the Majora's Mask site. And thus, missed all the commercials, commercials which, rank #1 among best Video Game advertisements EVER in my opinion, as well as those two websites. (Even though I heard stuff about Zelda Radio from message boards, but never really bothered to read it since it was after the game came out)

I'm just wondering is there ANY WAY to get Nintendo to put these sites back up? If not, is there anyone who had no life back in 2000 and mirrored everything?

You may say i'm suffering from Majora's Mask withdrawal, despite being my most favirote game ever, despite that I still listen to the soundtrack all the time, the fact that I still download stuff related to the game, I haven't played the game for almost two years. Except from one time about 2 months ago, but as far as i'm concerned I didn't play it this year, or 2002.

This may be against the rules or something to ask these kinds of things, but I'm just looking for hope that these sites have not been forgotten.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to actually go back in time to where I did follow the game since 1999.

howabout a port of Majora's Mask free with the console? Heh

If you're not sure about getting Pinball Party, I can say you can expect to have a heap of fun if you're a pinball fan. Otherwise, eh, you'll just find it decent, or just a time killer, or perhaps a bore.

I just managed to spot it today at Target, so I picked it up with the last of my allowance, most of which was already spent on a GBASP, GCN demo disc, and Wario Ware, which was a bit more than a week ago. I'm really enjoying Nights pinball though. And story mode is pretty good. But somewhere I see a bit of blandness. But I'm a pinball fan, so I still find it fun.. no regrets about spending my last $30. But, I wouldnt throw any 9-10 out of 10s just yet. Maybe a 7 or 8. But ive only played for an hour.

Also, theres lots of remakes of music in this game. Including (SPOILER)Super Sonic Racing from Sonic R, and heaps and heaps of Nights and Samba De Amigo music.(SPOILER)

I'll talk about more of it later..

1. Advertisting, rather than relying on Comedy Central and Cartoon Network. Look into advertising during big TV shows. In fact, they should do that right now.

« on: April 17, 2003, 08:43:14 PM »
This is a bit shocking, since i was thinking about PGC recently, and been pondering if you'd ever retire, and I was thinking "Naaaaah" but it seems that it's true. Farewell, though I never actually got to know you much in the chatroom, maybe ill read up on the stuff you do on GI. Or meet you in an E3 several years from now. But.. alas, if I dont, that's life.

Farewell.

Nintendo Gaming / NINTENDO FANBOYS
« on: April 10, 2003, 09:28:33 PM »
I'm not a Nintendo fanboy, just a Mario and Zelda one, one of the few people that thinks Sunshine, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker deserved all their praise from the press.

Nintendo Gaming / majora's mask
« on: April 03, 2003, 11:40:57 AM »
I had more fun with MM than OOT. OOT was still greatly awesome, and I wanted more to wait for the GC Zelda. So MM was my man. And I had loads of fun. If I had to pick one gaming world to live in. It'd be Termina hands down. The cool design of the Swamp, Great Bay, Mountains, Canyons.. and Clock Town is fun to walk around. And it was the only Zelda or any game at all that I explored every nook and cranny because I liked exploring the worlds. The music and graphics were all great. I'd say everything was better in this game than OOT except the music, which was equal. But I still must give alot of credit to OOT for inspiring this one. I was also scared noone really liked it. But come to think of it, all the later Zelda games (Oracles, Wind Waker, and even the non Zelda Super Smash Brothers Melee) had lots of MM references (Tingle, Great Bay playing field)

I would like a sequel that takes place in Termina, actually i dont know, of course it wont involve 3 day systems, the Moon or Majora's Mask, but it would be a nice revisit to check how everything's doing. Of course, that might just sound stupid..

Nintendo Gaming / PLEASE tell me the GCN is not dying in Europe.
« on: March 14, 2003, 07:01:54 AM »
Actually the 2 people even posted links proving it. Stores ARE getting rid of em. Im just wondering if they are really doing THAT bad, or are there some other reasons invovled with stores taking them off.

I got some Xbox fanboys trying to tell me stores in the UK are starting to "chant for the GC's death" and are stopping stock of GCN's in their stores. Can someone confirm this?
