Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2 Release Date Revealed
« on: September 06, 2017, 07:53:39 AM »

We've got details about the port to the Nintendo Switch.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/45348/resident-evil-revelations-1-and-2-release-date-revealed

Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2 will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 28 everywhere except Japan (where it will come out on November 30) according to publisher Capcom.

The Switch version will use motion controls, such as gyro aiming and shaking the Joy-Con to remove attacking hordes. Revelations 2, making its Nintendo debut, will include a co-op mode in which each player will be able to play with a single Joy-Con each via split-screen local play. Capcom has also confirmed that an online Raid Mode will be available as per the original release.

As previously reported, the physical version will include the first game on a game card while Revelations 2 will be available with an included download code. The dual pack will be available for $39.99 and both games will also be available separately on the eShop for $19.99 each.

I played the first one on the 3DS and enjoyed it so I'm looking forward to playing number 2.

If they had made number 2 a physical game I would have gotten that version, now I don't know.

Odd how they split up one physical and the other digital. Perhaps this was to reduce production costs as it allowed them to use a smaller game card. Kinda makes me want to go all digital.

I'm all digital and I love it; thouhh at the rate I buy games I'm going to have to shell out big bucks foran even bigger SD card before too long. I'm already down to 150 GB free on my 200 GB card. f

how does one upgrade the SD card in their switch?

...and not lose all the data?

I'm pretty sure all save data is stored on the internal memory, so that wouldn't be lost, but I'd probably have to redownload all the games.

I'm in the same boat. I liked Revelaitons 1, but I don't think it was good enough to triple dip even with added gyro controls. I've barely played Revelations 2 on a friend's PS4. I'm only interested if it ever gets a physical Switch release, with or without the first one.

I wouldn't be surprised if more third-party games did this (in fact they kind of are, see: NBA 2k18), it's sort of like the N64 situation where third-party games required a memory card because it cost less to not include on-cart saving.

Well they just opened up pre-orders for the 400GB XDSC cards, so you are in luck.

Yeah, I figure at this rate I'm going to need one of those by the end of 2018.

Couldn't you just copy the SD card via computer to another SD card? I thought the encryption was in the files themselves, not the SD card file system, they should still work on the Switch that the data originated on. Or was that only on the Wii?

That's how it works on 3DS, I'm not sure if the same is true with Switch. I know on Wii U when you plugged a hard drive in it formatted it in a proprietary system computers couldn't read.

I was more basing my assumption on how the Wii handled it, since it used SD cards as well.

It appears that you can transfer via PC if this Nintendo Support post is to be believed.
