Well, I was going off the *updated as of this post* numbers. And the official tally hasn't been added up for the weekend yet, but yeah, it passes it today whenever those numbers post.

Apparently IW may even cross $1B International w/o China, so adding another $4-500k from China + the US Gross... $2B is looking real likely.

edit: And who are the 3 people that voted and didn't pick IW as one of their 3 choices!? o_O

IW was the 1 gimme vote though. We all knew it was gonna be the #1 gross movie of the year.
I didn't want to make things boring though by saying "Other than IW.... chose the next 2 highest grossing movies". So to not pick IW was to gamble that for some reason is was gonna bomb.

But there were no stakes, so no loss to be had.

X-Force/X-Factor (they're interchangeable to the general public) are like the X-Men JV team. New Mutants (Generation X) are like the JV bench. They're just the left overs nobody cares about. I didn't even know they were getting a movie and they're one of the X-books I read.

Going to go watch DP likely this weekend. I would have done so already but it is a good excuse to give a mate some free time away from home and work.
What was the budget on IW? TLJ looked like it did well but was so stupid expensive it is barely breaking even.

Comes to think of it with these movies being so expensive I don't see the results on the screen. Black Panther got visually worse further in and the fighting was the same like it was some TV special. Watson flew the laziest flight sequence in a while and I am not sure how his character got into the airforce.

As someone who was a BIG fan of the 2011 Thundercats series, Cartoon Network can go **** itself.
I'd be fine with this thing existing if they also revived & completed the 2011 series, but instead we just get the latest Teen Titans Go knockoff.

All I will say is this art style doesn't seem to be that different from Muppet Babies or A Pup Named Scooby Doo, both highly popular shows enjoyed by many of the same folks complaining about this.

I must confess, though, I never watched the original so I have no stake in this reboot.

DP2 Box Office Update:

I think it also set the record for Biggest Opening day (Thurs+Fri) for an R rated movie.
I think IT had the record ($48M) or it could've been DP1, but I think DP2 came in at 52-53.

Deadpool is also the Highest International Opener for Fox

Thundercats Roar has me not super interested. The art style doesn't lend itself to great action sequencing to me. Like Steven Universe is a similar style, and that has action, but the show is much more focused on story and character. And I think having a sillier vibe for the show take away from the gravity of any violence you depict.

I'm not really a fan of these newer animation styles. Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Rick & Morty; I dislike all of those. This new Thundercats falls right into that style.

Incredibles 2 is probably the most asked for sequel from Pixar. They teased the damn sequel at the end of the 1st movie and then made us wait till we were all great grand parents to finally bring the sequel out. Hype on this one is low key I think, but certainly not Fake.
