Nunchuk faulty?
« on: March 06, 2007, 07:07:34 AM »
I just noticed the analog stick on my nunchuck kind of "clicks" in if i push on it.  It continues to work normally, but i am worried this might be the start of a problem.  Has anyone else had this issue; should I send it in to nintendo or live with it?

By pushing to you mean pushing down like the L3 and R3 on the PS line controllers or the analog click on the Xbox/360 controllers. Or by pushing the analog stick to the end of the boundary octagon (nintendo line) or the circle for PS/Xbox line.  If its the latter then no problem since take any analog controller and notice carefully how the controller "clicks" or the analog neck hits the circular/octagonal boundary. If by pushing down as if you would press a button then its just normal analog stick wear and tear.

Its pushing down as if it were the L3/R3 button on a playstation controller.  I do suppose your right its just wear and tear.  It hasnt affected gameplay whatsoever yet so I dont think I will contact Nintindo about it.  Thanks for the reply.

Mine has done this since launch. It's just how some of them are.

Well if anyone is interested Thats how a Nunchuk looks like when its opened up. Notice how the analog stick we see on the outside is just a half sphere with a neck and a flat surface on the top for our thumb, notice on the small circuit board a square assembly with a white stick, thats the "real" analog stick that actually does something. And since analog sticks that we see outside are half spheres you can actually pull them up a little but I don't recommend that you do, thats why you can press down on analog sticks whether or not they are "buttons".
