NES - 2D that looks like ****
SNES - 2D that looks great and therefore is all you need for 2D graphics
N64 - 3D that looks like ****
Gamecube/Wii - 3D that looks great and therefore is all you need PERIOD
This is what I've always thought and still do.

I hope it won't be so dark as the Wii Epic Mickey - I mean physically dark - I like my Disney with bright colors and all that drabness got a bit tedious.

Monster Tale was a pretty, bright, colorful game and I hope this will be too.

I have to admit I actually like the slightly rough translation of the Phoenix Wright series. It is not over-localized like many games and one still gets some of the Japanese flavor of the use of honorifics and other cultural elements (the psychic village for example would be a horrible hash if it were too heavily "Americanized"), and while this does mean the translation is not always idiomatic, in my view it is better than overwriting chunks of what makes the story what it is by putting them in a false American context.

I know they are doing this "by mistake" and it goes hand in hand with quite a few other typos, errors and infelicities, but I think it is a price worth paying in that series. I am glad they don't have a super-efficient localization team.

The elementary errors you point out in RE Revelations, though, are just ignorant and rather sad. They are just adding to the ignorance of the growing numbers of people who just don't know these things because they read wrong versions of them all the time, even from people who should know better.

I love your Reve-Laytons picture by the way!

DLC is potentially a great addition to the functionality and possibilities of games. And yes it also has the potential for being abused by cheap nickel-and-diming publishers - but let's not jump to the conclusion that all DLC is like that. The best protection is for customers to be discriminating and avoid dishonest DLC. And yelling "rip off" at ALL DLC is NOT discriminating and doesn't help at all.

Actually this seems a good example of GOOD DLC. Plenty of content in the first place and, frankly we are not necessarily going to want our systems clogged with EVERY song, so we get to choose which ones to add to the original 80.

One question: is DLC like downloadable games - ie do we own it once paid for whether it is on our local system or not? It could be good to keep the system clear of large amounts of extra content while being able to re-download it whenever we want it.

Which one is questionable? Freakyforms? I LOVE Pushmo, Mighty Switch Force and Zen Pingball.

Uh, mainstream is where the money is. Nintendo, being a company, has this bizarre preference for making money over looking "cool".

Gao! Gao! Gao! - WHY is this not coming to NA this year. Reggie, you are doing a BAD JOB. You hear? BAD.

If Mr. Reggie does not bring this game to North America, I will put a BIG PIN on his CHAIR!

I had a big trouble with the pointer spazzing all over the screen last Christmas. As soon as I turned of the flashing Christmas lights it was fine.

Just to clarify - the female friends I was talking about with DSs are American, not Mexican. I don't know any Mexican geeky girls!

I think 3DS's success depends a great deal in getting the very young demographic. This has always been a BIG part of Nintendo's handheld success - and it is an area where mobile devices aren't really much competition. Here in Mexico, most the kids have DSs, GBAs or even GBCs. 3DS penetration will probably lag by years as is usual here.

I believe 3DS will be hugely successful, though probably a bit less so than DS, which probably represented the peak of the dedicated handheld gaming device market. DSs strengths were in the child market, the pre-teen and early teen girls market, the casual adult market and the "serious gamer" market - especially the female sector of that. Most of my female friends have DSs. Most of them have played Dragon Quest IX. Very few of them own a console - even a Wii. Most of them I suspect will not (unlike me) be early adopters of 3DS. They will go on with DS for some time, but they will switch eventually.

Of these markets, I think Nintendo stands to lose quite a large portion of the casual adult market. This is where portable devices will hit hardest. The other markets, I think it will largely retain. The "serious gamer" market - mostly the male sector, faces competition from Sony as it always did. For the other sectors I mentioned, Nintendo is still the only game in town.

1 Ocarina of Time 3D 36:13
2 Nintendo 3DS Sound 22:36
3 Delbo 20:01
4 Let's Golf 3D 18:46
5 Super Monkey Ball 3D 14:18

I now use Nintendo 3DS Sound as my main music player - I plug the 3DS into my speakers, close it and put it on its cradle. I guess 22 hours doesn't count all the time I am playing it - just the time I am fiddling with the music!

Delbo is a $1.99 match-3 game (like Magical Drop). Hard to believe that until recently we paid full retail prices for games like this! But they're as addictive as ever! Let's Golf 3D is another really nice download title.

Super Monkey Ball I got with my 3Ds and is my only other full retail 3DS game.

Yes, considering there is so little retail software, I am having a lot of fun with the system.

The battery life doesn't bother me. What they need to announce is Pokemon Gray with all the lovely 3D models used in the free Pokedex. That would REALLY sell 3DS!

Iwata-san is wise and noble. I feel happy that Nintendo is in his hands.

Strange that they picked a showman like Reggie to head up NoA - quite the opposite. I guess they thought that is what Westerners like, and sadly, it seems they are right.

"Does it censor song titles like it does messages?"

I certainly hope so. I want to be able to use Street Pass without vulgarity and ugliness appearing on my 3DS.

I know this is a 2D puzzle - but does it use the 3D effect at all?

21
I agree the animation isn't as fluid as in those others. Just LOVE Maleficent though. I mean in a hatey sort of way.

22
Maleficent is the best villain EVER - even when she isn't in dragon form.

23
There are good movies without monkeys. There's King K… no forget that one.

There's Sleeping Beauty.

24
Beauty and the beast is good too. I hardly ever see recent movies but I saw Sucker Punch 'cause a friend thought I would like the action scenes and I did.

The rest wasn't so great though, although I liked the layers of reality thing.

I've never played Mafia.

25
Disney's Sleeping Beauty, of COURSE. Isn't that everyone's favorite movie?
