Title: Red 3DS Coming in September

Flame Red joins the lineup.

Nintendo 3DS will be available in a new Flame Red color on September 9, the same day that Star Fox 64 3D launches in North America. Currently, the system is only available in Cosmo Black and Aqua Blue. The new 3DS color will be available at the MSRP of $169.99.

This isn't the first time we've seen a flame red handheld from Nintendo: a color of the same name was paired with the Game Boy Advance SP.

Pretty much anyone, as long as you make sure to get plenty of blood on your current 3DS in the process.  It'll turn brown eventually, though, so I recommend you use paint instead.

With this and the price drop, Nintendo is sure to more 3DSs sold, although it would have been nice to have a launch, I do like my black one.

Red is a common color and the one to most likely follow the launch colors, but with the Price Drop and 20 Free Games and less than a handful of decent exclusive games I almost feel pity on the 3DS. It's getting to be like a date trying too hard to impress. I would rather Nintendo push the system features to be released ASAP or start showing some development screens or some word on development than a new system color. That poor system, they gonna trick it out to everyone on the block before it's 6 months old. This is an act of desperation.

A purple 3DS would just be amazing. Anyway this sucks for me since I already have a black 3DS, but that doesn't really matter because I love my black 3DS. Can't wait for Star Fox 64 3D.

They need a better Mario Kart maestro. The shredding guitar with drum and bass recycled from the 64 isn't doing much for me.

Didn't they show a purple 3DS at E3?

That may be my inevitable 2nd 3DS (for the Pokemans).

I don't know if it was E3, but yeah there's a purple and an orange floating around. It might just show up in Japan and never come over to the states. If the purple ever did come out I'd be tempted to get it because it's begging for a Decepticons sticker.
