this is actually a pretty amazing thread. Kudos to the person digging up these numbers and making those charts, lots of real effort and useful information.

I am happy to see Nintendo doing well in their homeland despite their failures here.

I guess we should put the NPDs in here too:

1.) Halo 5: Guardians (XBO)
2.) NBA 2K16 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3) [Note: Second Month]
3.) Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (PS4, XBO)
4.) Madden NFL 16 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3)
5.) WWE 2K16 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3)
6.) FIFA 16 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3)
7.) Destiny: The Taken King (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3)
8.) Yoshi's Wooly World (NWU)
9.) Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (PS4)
10.) Rock Band 4 (XBO, PS4)

Apparently if you go by separate SKUs, Mario Maker would be on the list again.

Halo 5 actually has me very interested in the Xbox One right now. I am waiting till after Christmas to see what money I have left over but I am 90% sure I will be getting one soon, if I don't get a new PC instead which I have been on the fence for a while.

Get a new PC instead.  Way more practical and all the games on the XBO are likely to be on the PC.  Halo 5 you can play on it in a year when the XBO drops to $150 with the rate they are going.

Considering how small Wooly's World sold in Japan, I wonder what the numbers were for it to place 8th in NPD's.

According to leaks it did around 165k at retail in America which is really good for it's first month.  Considering Nintendo games get a good boast during the upcoming holiday, Yoshi should end have a much stronger legs in America then it did in Japan.

Animal Crossing amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash both failed to chart in the top 40's in the UK. I'm guessing that means they sold less than 1000 units for the entire territory.

Star Wars: Battlefront takes the top spot in a deluge of new releases. It's followed by the latest Atelier game and Omega Labyrinth. These are followed by Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival's first week which Famitsu reports a 0-20% sell through rate. Splatoon still refuses to exit the top 10.

In case you were wondering whether Omega Labyrinth for the Vita was a non-booby game or a booby game:

Among the schoolgirls brimming with curiosity, the rumor continued spreading. The Holy Grail’s hiding place is said to be a cave there since ancient times. The cave, which is usually off-limits, is opened only on the anniversary of the school’s founding… and…

Today, November 8, is the anniversary of the founding of Anberyl Girls Academy.

And somehow or another, it seems that this year students have come along in search of the Holy Grail of Beauty.

Her wish: to increase her chest size, which is smaller than the other girls’, in a big way…

But will she really be able to find the Holy Grail and have her small wish granted?

It is so booby.

Oppai Appraisal
-The items you obtain in the dungeons will appear as "Unidentified Crystals" their name and effects are not known. In order to reveal these items, you can appraise them by using Omega Power. To do this, you place the crystallized item between your character's breasts and shake. If you stimulate the crystal enough, filling with Omega Power, the item will steadily expand. Shake it to it's limit and the item will be revealed.

Perhaps the boobiest thing I've ever read.

I'm curious what made Happy Home Designer a smash hit and amiibo festival a disaster day of crisis mega-bomb. They are both fairly shallow games that don't offer nearly as much value as the main series, of course due to install base and price, the 3ds game would always outsell the Wii U game, but even percentage wise amiibo festival is still awful. I think ND Cube missed the mark on what makes Animal Crossing fans excited and the messaging behind amiibo festival was all wrong.

Happy Home Designer came first.  Maybe it wasn't well received which soured interest in another Animal Crossing spin-off.  Though designing your home fits the general theme of AC better than a party game.  What about Amiibo Festival is particularly AC-like aside from the graphics?

Gobs of flavorful text.

Happy Home Designer makes sense as a spin-off that laser focuses on one major aspect of Animal Crossing. amiibo Festival is the flavor and atmosphere of Animal Crossing applied to a game that bears no relation to the Animal Crossing games.

No numbers to show, but Target says Wii U was the best selling console online for Thanksgiving/Black FridayThursday. Not sure if they were doing the $299 Xbone/PS4, but if they were that's pretty impressive...even if it was only one day.

Man, Monster Hunter X sales numbers in Japan.  I never could figure out why this series is so popular in Japan but it continues to sell well with every yearly installment.

Nintenod's deal with Capcom really gave Sony's Vita a major death blow.

Man, really glad this game bombed.  Whoever "greenlite" this project should have been canned, seriously, an AC board game + forcing people to buy amiibo's too.  God awful.

--------

Splatoon sales continue to impress.  Wouldn't be surprised to see an sequel by 2017.

--------

Minecraft vita is another evergreen title that continue to sell well even in Japan.   Wonder what the total sales are for the region if you counted PC and phone?  Might be the highest western developed game published in Japan.

Xenoblade X debuts at 28 in the UK charts however the game also sold 73% more than the original Xenoblade did on it's launch day in August 2011.
