Nintendo Gaming / RE: Is there any way to play import games?

Shouldnt that tell them something...People shouldnt have to wait, if it were region free they could release it the same day everywhere.

Well I guess this confirms that the VC Oot is inferior to the Cube version in terms of framerate and proberly graphical quality. I also doubt it is the original release with the red blood and the different fire temple music..

MM never locked up on me, but I find the slowdown hard to bear inside clock town and at great bay. Apparently the Cube MM is running without the expansion pak.. I hope its fixed to be at least as good as the N64 version on VC.

Ahh.. well Im pretty sure it would be the version where all that was changed. Im pretty sure it was the fire temple aswell that the music was changed in. Its too bad because if it was that version I would actually buy it! It also looks like it isnt the version that was released on cube aswell, the hud looks like the N64 one apparently..

I suppose it is still a bit too early, but do we know which version of OoT the VC version is? The original or one of the modified ones (like i'm guessing)?

It should be the updated one.. But who knows with Nintendo. I put in the actual N64 cart today and it looks so much worse than the Cube version, so I hope for the people that are downloading it that it is the cleanest sharpest steadiest version

I wouldnt say the Cube versions or the VC version are inferior to the N64 cart. The Cube Oot looks better because it runs at a higher res, it looks much cleaner and is easier to look at than the N64 version. I also find the Cube controller fine for playing N64 games, but I dont think the VC controller would be very good for Oot.

I dont think its neccessary to have channel organising really. I actually like having all the VC games out on the top level, and you can always organise it a bit by moving channels to where you want them to be. For instance I have all the 'Application' channels on the very top row and that will continue along all the pages. I am then using the other rows for VC games.

Hmm..I am kinda worried that Nintendo wont make another console cel shaded Zelda. I like the TP look but I dont want that to be the only style they go with from now on. A land based cel shaded Zelda could be amazing.

General Gaming / VC Games not working when Component Cable in.
« on: December 11, 2006, 11:30:12 AM »
Ok my VC games dont display properly through the first party component cables. It goes to a blue screen and says Mode not supported..

Sonic = Didnt work at all, then for some reason did until I turned the system off and on again. Sonic does work when I set the Wii back to 60hz 480i.

Donkey Kong Country = Doesnt work at all in any Wii video res using the cables.

Turbo Gfx = They both work fine through component.

Any idea anyone?

Im from Australia so this is a PAL system.

Thanks

I was in EB a few weeks ago and a Dad and his son came in, they wanted to pick up a new PS2 cause there other one died. The sales rep then started talking about the Wii and how its really fun, cheap and is coming out on Dec 7. This rep wasnt a Nintendo fanboy either, its been a long time since I heard a rep talk Nintendo around here. When the Cube was coming out, every store I went to tried to talk me out of buying it and to get an Xbox instead.

I remember when Metroid Prime 2 was being reviewed, and at the same time Halo 2 and I think GTA vice city. It went something like this.

Halo 2 a great sequel which surpasses the original etc
GTA vice city is an excellent addition to the series and one of the best games this season
Metroid Prime 2, its too much like the first game.

Prime 2 was proberly the most changed out of all of them :S
