TalkBack / Re: REVIEWS: Super Mario Galaxy 2

I disagree with one of the breakdown points, the graphics, which I belive James should of given top marks too.

Also I kind of agree with some of the posters who were commentating about how the gravity wasnt really used to a greater effect in the first game. Before I played Galaxy 1 I thought that there would be varying degrees of gravity used throughout, but from what I remember and felt at the time the force of gravity was always the same no matter where you were in the game. I think some places should of made Mario heavier or lighter. Think basically mini mario from NSMB, for being lighter.

Ah Luigi's Mansion. It really is a fun little game that I have played through at least 3-4 times since I got it on the Australian Launch day. Although there is a bit of a funny story with how I ended up owning it. I was in EB with my family and was deciding on the second game that I was going to buy, I was contemplating Luigi or Star Wars. But my sister ended up just yelling Luigi and the sales person just rushed off and got it. So I had my mind made up for me.

Anyway, something that I dont think has been mentioned in regards to the games length, was at the time, people such as Miyamoto had been saying in various interviews about making smaller shorter games to have a quicker turn around time between first party releases.

Btw my sister became a fan of the game and was able to do quite well at the game, with no real prior gaming experience. Although I dont think she ever did beat the final boss. And your right Jonny the pay off isnt worth it..

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Time untill Nintendo Megaton Game Launch

I hope it gets delayed everywhere just so everyone else has to wait longer :P

If modding Wii's didnt brick systems I wouldnt hesitate. Damn Nintendo.

7
No PAL regions are just getting screwed again.. There should be no excuse for this, they should have it out everywhere by March. The only way this makes any sense is if its going to be delayed again elsewhere.

I had much more problems with the Mario 64 camera. I replayed it before Galaxy and sometimes the camera was downright terrible. There is nothing really wrong with Galaxy's camera, it works.

9
The game looks and runs much nicer on the Cube Collection disk than the original N64 version.

Yeah WW and TP were technically better games, but both had far less of an impact than Oot did. Mainly because it had already been done in Oot for the most part. Which is why neither received the same critical acclaim.

11
Oot was the innovator not WW and TP. It would have been cool for a new game to take the spot, but oh well.

I hope it is on the Wii disk. The PS2 version is getting the art galleries and interviews with the creators etc. Maybe if the original is on the new game it wont include all the bonus extras.

Nintendo should go out on a limb here and give every Wii owner in Japan a demo of it. Japan must just hate fun, there top selling games over there are more often than not boring grindfest RPGS.

Why do they need to re-record him for every game. They proberly have tonnes of samples of him going.

"HA..WOOP... YAHOOOO!"  or
"Here We GOOOOO!"

Or just raise the pitch a bit with an audio program.

Yeah the Tomb Raider series since Legend has been pretty excellent. Though having the original creator back since that game has helped immensely.

Although they didnt have to set it in space to be as zany as they wanted. Lots of people are saying this, but they could have made the levels just as insane and crazy without the space setting. Its Mario you dont need to explain it.

Ehh, i dont really see the potential. For how long its taken for this to come out its really not that great. But that said its constructed really well and is very easy to use.

Docking it for a couple of framerate dips is stupid.. Things like that should be overlooked if everything else is basically perfection.

Thing is its so easy to make another great Starfox game!

- New System (Sehii System)
- 15 planets + Debris fields etc
- Set it in the middle of a huge war
- De-age all the characters back to what they were in Starfox 64 (Basically set it before adventure)
- Make the ships actually feel like they are fast.
- Have different ship characteristics/Customisation
- Have a couple of larger battle sequences where you control the Great Fox. (Different characters could have different jobs like firing weapons etc)
- Blue Marine and Landmaster are back. Along with on foot missions, but they are now On-Rails. (Sin/Punishment)
- Levels are mostly Arwing On-Rails Shooting.
- All range mode comes back but is no longer limited to boss battles only.
- Branching pathways - System/Map Screen
- Branching pathways - Inside the levels themselves. Each stage has at least two bosses, although its hard to find the alternate paths you have to work to find them.
- Secrets such as warps and entire bonus levels.
- You can play as either Fox,Falco,Slippy & Peppy
- Voice acting in the style of Starfox 64 but with heaps more lines.
- You can issue commands, like in the Rouge Squadron games.
- Really nice graphics at 60fps with the ability for a lot of on screen enemies
- 4-Player Co-Op & Battle (Local)
- Online Battle mode and Co-Op

There Nintendo go make it! :P

Apparently this update stops PAL Wii's from doing the disk swap trick to boot NTSC Cube games..
