Yeah, I saw that floating around in the GameFAQs boards.

Apparently the girl is Utada Hikaru, a very popular J-pop singer, who you may recognize as having sang the opening song for Kingdom Hearts.

I must say that I approve of NCL's apparently new focus on cute girls.

simple and clean is the way that i feel tonight...

I'm so glad they didn't replace that in the american version with some stupid britney song....
Hikaru may be the same type of thing in Japan but it sure doesn't feel that way.

Yea, she's kinda cute but I reckon its kinda stupid how most of the ad she just stands there stareing at the DS. I just dont get that, but then I aint Japanese. Good commercial though.

What's funny is that most of the song (Easy Breezy) seems kind of inappropriate for this kind of commercial, but whatever... ^_^,

Yeah, the song is not exactly the most kid friendly thing she's ever done, but In the commercial you only hear a snippet of it.  Its a smart move by nintendo, get a huge pop star icon for your commercials.  All they need now is to have gackt running around playing it and it is sold.

Does anyone have a link to a site hosting the commercial? (Not a direct link to the download, of course)

So what is the announcer saying?

I like the commercial, but I really wish there was more too it.  Like if they gave us a hint by her looking at a game playing or something.

Right now its just a real cute commercial of a girl touching her first game system.  *LOL*

The only translation I have found is when she speaks, she is asking:  Can I touch it?

Remeber this too, not all of that is the commercial.  That is part of a news report on Utada being hired to star in the commercial.  Notice the weather and time markers in the top left corner.  The last 15 seconds if my best guess as to what will be or at least included in the final cut.

I'm puzzled as to why her dress had a circular hole.  *scratches head*

Look outside, circles in shirts in peculiar places are all the rage.  As far as the commercial goes, I'm sure there's a lot more to it.

But that circle wasn't in a "peculiar place". That was just about the best possible place to have a circle!

Any superior places for it would probably be inappropriate subject matter for this message board.

Im pretty sure based on what I read that this is the first of what is basically a sequence of commercials.
This first one is meant as an introduction for the japanese consumer, parallelling the introduction Hikaru Utada is having to the DS.
In subsequent commercials, more and more of the DS and its features will be introduced and spotlighted.  Very likely, as the end of that commercial hinted, the touch screen will be the star of the next commercial.
I think its very clever....as opposed to having one commercial which is like ITCANDOTHISTHISANDTHISANDOHYEAHTHIS you have a gradual education of sorts.

Oh, and shes really cute. That is also very good.
