Somewhat tempted. Would be more hyped if they remastered Tales of Destiny.

Though it is not technically in the series, if you liked Symphony I would recommend Bloodstained. It feels more like symphony than any other game I have played and it is pretty recent so has some QoL improvements.

Have they fixed the loading between areas on the Switch version?

Dunno why, but felt like playing Pinball FX 3 again. Despite having a few of the DLC tables the default Sorcerer's Lair remains a fav. A lil more Goosebumps than actual horror but it has its charm.

I fired up my WiiU the other day to play Bayonetta 2 again as a warm-up for Bayonetta 3. I'm a bit rusty when it comes to my post-fight ratings, but I'm going through enemies well enough

Dauntless has its yearly Dark Harvest event. May try to grab some spooky-themed weapon/armor skins once that kicks off.

I might get it eventually.

Wanted an Air Ride 2, but this will do.

Dawn of the Monsters - Was iffy on the sale price but had 400 gold points to burn so that made the price just about right. A kaiju-inspired beat 'em up & there's an Ultraman-like playable hero in there? Hell yeah.

Huntdown
- You'd think it would be a cyberpunk Contra, but it feels more like Castlevania had the Belmonts used guns since you can't shoot in all directions.

Mighty Goose - Got a week or so ago. Not a bad Metal Slug clone, but not quite as hard since it seems better geared for solo play. It has a 2-player option, but the 2nd player is taking over whatever AI partner the 1st player unlocked & not another goose.

Isn't that Cowabunga Collection coming out this year too? Gonna be a shell of a year...

TMNT tops my list though WrestleQuest is looking like a definite maybe.

Well, consider my interest piqued.

For me, it's Zombie Panic in Wonderland. Yes, it's on Switch now, but it's the DX version from PSP. The Wiiware version had motion controls for aiming, while this one doesn't.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: What do you use your Switch USB Ports for?
« on: February 27, 2022, 05:22:11 PM »
Mainly to charge my Switch Pro controller. I used to use my USB headset to listen out for enemy footsteps when I played Paladins. Now I occasionally use them when I'm late night gaming & don't want to wake anyone while keeping the sound up.

Any recommendations for eShop only 3DS games?

Gotta Protectors. It's like a hack & slash with slight tower defense elements. The NES look of it reminds me of Gauntlet.

The Deadly Tower of Monsters PC

Decided to dip into my Steam backlog & finish this one up. Decent isometric action game once you get used to the controls. My main gripe might be that the platforming can feel excessive at times, but there's a teleport button, so missing moving platforms isn't too punishing.

The director's commentary never stops cracking me up.

As much as I like this DLC I was hoping this one wasn't going to have any coin collecting. I swear there are times the other cars are actively blocking you from grabbing them.

Recently heard about the Senna Forever DLC coming to Horizon Chase Turbo so gave the already available Summer Vibes a go.

The Outrun style car handles pretty nicely & the unlockable skins change the drivers too. Black car gives you my fav, the Miami Vice duo.

Wild Arms. It was my brother's game, but I was into it more than he was & got pretty far into it. Guess he was jealous or something because he waited until I bought a new game & after a week or two of getting into that he suddenly traded in the game. Made no offer to sell it to me or anything & he has older games than that collecting dust to this day that he's barely touched.

Tales of Destiny This one actually is mine & I still have it somewhere. Took another break here, but I guess this one was too long. When I came back to it, I was hopelessly lost in some oddball over world map that connects a network of dungeons or something. Tried to muscle my way through it a few times, but the random enemy encounter rate is so high that I'd lose my bearings all over again. On the plus side, all that wandering helped grind my party up a few levels. Unfortunately, in one of my last attempts, I ended up back at the start of the entire map all over again.

Anyone here have Hardcore Mecha? I'm wondering if they ever patched the slow-down & crashing issues with the Switch version of that game. I did finish what I think was the final boss, but the game crashed during the big escape part of the stage afterwards, so nothing was saved.

Got frustrated & haven't gone back to the game since.

Sorry, no kids of my own. Closest I've done was play the gamer uncle role twice(nephew & then cousin's kid). It's usually them playing what they want & thinking they're hot stuff until they visit me, then I beat the pants off of them.

Once their cries die down, I usually try to give some tips. The only hurdle I can recall was during the N64 era when my nephew started finding cheat codes & believed using those was better than actually getting good. In Diddy Kong Racing he would just use the airplane & strafe from side to side, spamming endless missiles whenever I passed him.

Almost the end of August, but I've managed to finish one: Astral Chain.

Congrats!

Funny enough, I was at Game Stop yesterday looking for Astral Chain & they didn't have it. Which reminds me, I probably should move Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance & Nier: Automata up the "to finish" list, but eh. Maybe another time.

As for Horizon Chase Turbo just crossed the last finish line of World Tour. The map is 79% complete so not sure if I'll move on to another game or go back & get some more 1st place finishes.

May as well toss my hat in.

Horizon Chase Turbo: May not 100% World Race by the end of the month(or ever). But I want to at least finish racing on all the regions. Already unlocked Hawaii, but trying to at least get a bronze trophy in the remaining Japan tracks before taking that on.

Wasn't me. Though if anyone wants to invite me for a round, I tend to be the most open for lengthy gaming on weekends.

XC Golf has made me stop playing Adventure, so could use something else to do in the game.

Just I as I thought I was getting a handle on things, I reach XC Golf in Adventure. What the F was that?

That aside, I seem to be slowly getting better. I tend to do better avoiding the fancier spins/curve shots & just worry about my positioning when driving the ball straight.

Going for a putt on the other hand feels like a crap shoot when elevation is involved...

Been enjoying the game so far. I suck at it & despite wanting to try motion controls, I tend to do better with buttons. But I am enjoying it.

And yeah, I'd be up for some online games with folks here for the fun of it.
