That is really frustrating. Obviously it's not the first Mario clone (I remember something that was a mix between Galaxy and Spyro a few years back), but this is probably the first I've seen that directly copies tracks.

At least the mushroom springs don't work too well. And what on earth was that scary grey thing in Moo Moo Meadow?

Nowhere at all in the Northeastern US? Lame.

They could always announce more! Hopefully...

I don't understand how they're adding Rime to this, unless this is a remake of realMyst (which it isn't and probably never will be).

Unfortunately, this looks like another lost opportunity (considering this trailer). The sound again appears to be overcompressed, and for some reason the navigation is on the touch screen. I don't understand how this is "Myst in 3D" if they're putting everything that matters on the 2D screen.

TalkBack / Re: More Zelda Symphony Concert Dates Announced

This is cool, but we need a Northeast performance.  I live in Rochester, NY.  So if this could hit Cleveland, Buffalo, Philadelphia, or even if it came to New York City, I'd definitely buy a ticket and make the drive.  Watching videos of the symphony performing makes me absolutely jealous of everyone that's in attendance.  I wanna be a part of that energy too! haha

Same, I'd like Boston or NYC. Being in CT they're both pretty prime locations for me. However, since I go to school in Boston, that would be ideal. Good thing there's a train that runs between the two cities.

Do we know what outlet is selling tickets?  I'm fairly close to Atlanta and would definitely make the drive

Ticketmaster has them. Here's the link for the Atlanta performance: http://www.ticketmaster.com/Zelda-Symphony-tickets/artist/1623381

I'm still holding out for Boston. They really need to come to the northeast. I am excited that they're going to Canada though... too bad it's on the other side of the continent from me.

That remote is much snazzier than I was expecting! I can't wait to get this.

This is so exciting. Their Mario sports games were always so much fun (much more fun that Mario Sports Mix). Can't wait for this!

That was fantastic! If only they did things like this today (outside of the Nintendo Channel... but even with Dark Gary, Nintendo Week isn't nearly as exciting as this). Put up some cheezy promos on Youtube and I think people will love it.

Perhaps they could do something like the real SMB2 (eg Lost Levels). Take the original game mechanics that we all love, move them onto modern hardware (WiiU could be excellent for this), and add new and more challenging levels. People will complain about it not being innovative enough, but it would hopefully help retain the loyal players and attract new ones to the series.

TalkBack / Re: 3DS Sells 207,000 Units In First Week of Price Drop
« on: August 16, 2011, 11:51:33 AM »
Personally, I'm not even sure that the holiday season will be really kind to 3DS. Parents seem worried about the long-term effects of 3D content on their children's eyes... probably a valid concern when video games are played for hours without breaks and used as babysitters in some cases. Even though the DS wasn't just a "kiddy" system, children certainly were a significant part of the market that now might be missing.

This shouldn't even be a concern though since parents can disable it with a passcode through parental controls. Assuming they do their research, they'll have no problems.

I know of a few people who have gotten a 3DS due to the price drop (in multiple countries), one of them even saying they weren't planning to buy one ever. This was definitely a good move for Nintendo.

Maybe we'll get The Legend of Link's Distractions in 3D to go with OoT3D (it's made by CollegeHumor). Sure it's technically "NSFW" but damn is it funny and true :P

I don't know what some of you guys were watching, this trailer has put a lot of my fears to rest about this game.  It looks amazing!!

Agreed. As time is going on I'm becoming more and more confident about the game.

I have to say, watching that trailer backwards was really satisfying (both because of Zelda's Lullaby and because it was backwards :P ). At first I was really thrown by the art style, but now that I'm watching it doesn't seem so bad. Link definitely looks best when he has the tunic on, and I think this applied in Twilight Princess as well. I still can't get past the size of his lips though...

I'm also unsure about this whole "Zelda is a childhood friend thing." I've always kinda wanted them to be friends but, does this mean that she isn't any form of nobility? I always preferred it when she was.

It really depends on the Gamestop. Sure the one here smells kinda bad (mix of plastic and Cosi from next door), but they're never pushy like that and the pre-orders are always in stock.

Now, back when it was EB Games, there was one inexcusable offense. They were giving customers $1 for a used N64. What kind of crap is that?

I was 30 coins short of platinum this year, but I suppose it isn't that big of a deal. The pins would be nice, but they would have just collected dust.

Ah how I miss this game. It was one of the first ones that I owned myself (I always played MK64 at my cousin's house) and I remember the amazing feeling from when I placed first in a race for the first time (it was Peach Circuit).

And I must say, the remakes of the GBA courses just never felt the same as they did in the original game. They're lacking that speed and precision that was required on the original (the remakes always felt larger and more forgiving). Plus, I can't think of any other Mario Kart that had so many secret passages and shortcuts.

Yeah, they even have that figurine on display at Nintendo World Store.

And that DS pouch is perfect. It holds my stylus (I don't have my DS styli anymore and I far prefer the one I have now from my old Palm Pilot. Much more ergonomic), my DS, my earbuds (which was handy for when I wanted to listen to Okamiden music while people were watching Enchanted on the bus), and some games. AND it zips shut too. What more can you want?

Eek, I do not like the sound of this. I tend to rely on those surveys for when I need the extra coin boost. For example, this Club Nintendo year. I haven't even made it up to Gold status yet and I usually reach Platinum.

It's amazing what the economy does...

You know, it's a shame that I couldn't make it over to the Best Buy. I was in NYC for a school trip yesterday to go Behind the Emerald Curtain and see Wonderland, however the farthest we could go was to Rockefeller Center. I settled for the Nintendo World demos and was extremely impressed. They had giant AR cards on the floor that actually worked if people didn't stand on them :P

Now I just need money to buy one!
