It's the Monster Hunter. The Japanese LOVE monster hunter enough to buy a system for it.

Watching the slots is a joyful experience, if a bit hands off. As for the controls, I wish the shoulders acted as a shift, rather than as a menu selector.

Anyway, the game is nice and simple fun and lasts for a good fifteen hours if you blast through the story. Speaking of which, I was there was more to the story as some characters don't get fleshed out as much as I would like.

People will be buying it anyway. I mean, they got Guitar Hero, right?

This is good news. Though, Treasure is a bit shaky on 3D last I recall.

Oh hey, I recently watched an episode. I hope the game represents the show's wacky artstyle well. That would be sweet.

Ah, I wish I had a Wavebird.

Still, nice of Nintendo to make some more GCN controllers.

I see it as more of a step to the side than two steps back.

An addiction of anything always has social consequences so it's not like this is unexpected. Besides, I don't think any of us here could be diagnosed as addicted to video games, right?

How about LucasArts not being jerks and giving us a Monkey Island pack?

Will never happen.  LucasArts has had an obsession with just releasing subpar Star Wars games for this last decade.  Which is really sad since during the 90's, LucasArts was a great company with a lot of great titles all over the board.

Quite true, but they did give us the first Mercenaries game. Then Pandemic hooked up with Bioware later gobbled up by EA. But Mercs 2 looks like a nice sequel!

As for Sam and Max for the Wii: Yay! I hope the game becomes a success so that more like it will come.

Monster Hunter has turned out to be quite a hit in Japan. Shame that I couldn't get into it, but maybe I'll try again some time later.

Doesn't sound as awesome as Blast Processing though.

Here's to hoping it will turn out well. The Rivals games didn't look good despite them being on a 2D plane, but there were other problems. Also, at least the trailer made it look like they are on a good track.

Ah, good 'ol Pachter. Always pleasure for me to see him on Bonus Round.

Anyway, whatever the cause and reason, here's to hoping the prediction comes true. I've yet to get my Wii :(

There's plenty of attention for every entertainment!
Okay, not really :(

Up to five years in prision? That's harsh, and makes one think games are like cigarettes or liquor. Though... do they have a similar punishment if you sell a violent or pornographic DVD to a kid?

The Namco-Bandai internal team assigned is Project Aces.  They are known for their work on Ace Combat 0, 5, and 6.

Yay! And they're using their favored Geo Eye to texture the landscape. I really hope this turns out well and gets a localization.

Heheh, nice one there, Jonny.

Out of curiousity, I peaked around to see who made Star Fox Assault since it didn't seem to be Project Aces (at least explicitly, then again Project Aces seems to be more of moniker than a concrete dev team from what I can tell). After clicking around some names, alot of them only has Assualt as a credit. Hmm...

After thinking about it, the article doesn't say who exactly is on the project. Guess finding out who will have to wait. Anyway, the screenshots already look quite nice. I hope this game turns out well.

EDIT: Ah, there is a name. Now if only I could read Japanese...

Ooo a video interview with a tiny bit of gameplay in the beginning. The game certainly looks like it's on a good track.

EDIT,EDIT: Hmm, well if NWR and Wiki (er...) say the Ace Combat team is working on it (whoever exactly that might be), then shame on me for doubting!

Well, a million and a half units is nothing to snuff at either. That's probably a nice profit for Nintendo. If anything, it means that there is a healthy audience there for all sorts of games! Yay!

And whoa ho at Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! racking in sales. The Japanese takes kindly to playing as Miyamoto Musashi.

Mm, a Ghost Recon lunch box.

Seeing as how The Sum of All Fears movie wasn't recieved all that well, I wonder if Ubi expects much out of the movie side of the deal. The books will be a nice bit of pocket change seeing as how I see Splinter Cell books on shelves from time to time.

planetidiot: I assume they have been doing that. I guess there's a chance that they consulted with Clancy for ideas on Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, R6: Vegas, and EndWar.

I'm hoping for a new IP game. Nintendo and more sequels go hand in hand, but, given what Reggie said, it might sound like Nintendo has something new and big to show. Well, better not get my hopes too high.

As an aside: I think Rockstar made Smuggler's Run Warzones for the GCN as well?

Yes they did, I have that game :)

You have my sympathy.

Ya thanks, my prayers are with me.

Hahaha.
The game's fun, right? The idea of racing across the border wastelands and wilderness to deliver contraband sounds like a good and unique concept. If it weren't for Borderlands and Rage, I think a sequel to scratch a dune-buggy-running itch would be more than welcomed.

If its any consolation, I vaguely recall EA saying that ProStreet didn't end up being a good direction for NfS and the next will bring back the sandbox city and police pursuits. I think we're going to be stuck with the tuner cars, though.

As for EA turning hostile in its Take Two take over, chalk me in at being interested if EA gobbles up another one. I'm guessing EA looked at the big Activision Blizzard merger and thought they would need more than Bioware and Pandemic under its label.
From the way I see it, it looks like EA is trying to take a turn for the better with its efforts. Granted, they have their games with annual installments, but I think that they're really trying to bring new experiences for the player (Army of Two, Dead Space, and Spore come to mind). Also, they're giving the C&C Renegade formula another shot with Tiberium which I think is a nice upcoming effort. I think Take Two would, in the end, benefit from tapping the resources EA has.

Oh, the sports games...
Bad luck on how I think that will turn out if EA takes over :(
