Will this version finally include the FULL spanish option (voice and text)? I really hope so, but don't hold too much.

TalkBack / RE:Editorial: Don't Leave Me Now
« on: March 07, 2004, 06:31:10 PM »
I read the editorial and have to say that, since I don't have the knolegde necesesary,  I can emmit and un-biased, formal opionion. But I do agree that Nintendo needs to do something about 3rd. party support. I really was looking for games like Mortal Kombat or Burnout 3, but then, they leave (the publishers). This isn't really upsets me, since I always found something that replace the lost titles, but seeing how they lose games is discouraging. Personally, I think they should have a more aggresive aproach to the market. In the Super Nintendo days, they had ads in the premium time in open TV here in México, but suddendly, they stoped and only had ads on cable. And now, there are none, only for the FF:CC twice a week (during a mexican gaming TV show). Microsoft and even Nokia had (althought really shortly) ads in open tv.

Maybe the answer really relays in "having the example", release games in every posible category even when these titles be "garbage-ware". I know this goes againts the policy of Nitendo, but hey!, if everybody it's playing with mud, maybe it's time to get a little dirty.

Again, just my opinion.

Nintendo Gaming / Need for Speed Underground languages

Does anybody have an idea why NFU (or any EA games) for the GC doesn't have an "Languages" option? I have seen it runing on X-box in spanish, and I'm sucure that the PS2 version have this option as well.

Well, we know that the screens are one above the other like this:

--------------------------------

-------------------------------

so the developers are free to use them as one or separated.

So let's wait and see....

General Gaming / RE: The lifespan of your Gamecube.
« on: February 04, 2004, 05:21:11 AM »
My firts GC last from January 2002 to May 2003. I still think something get into the systems, since it still starts normally and the problem it's the "Can't read disk" message, but it is really variable (15 min. to 1.5 hours). I got a new one (Platinum) last August, so far only one freeze (in the baths area of Prince of Persia), but still knock on wood.... .

Exclusive or not, I'm still interested in this game. The "exclusivity" doesn't really means nothing to me, except perhaps that i'm the only one in my block playing that game.

Ok,  I just want a straight answer: I don't have any GBAs, and I don't know anybody that can play this game with me, so I'll be playing the entire game by myself, it's still worth to get it?

I hope this time they use "real" cars. It would be insteresting to go 120 KM/H down the street in a BMW or a Ferrari and crash againts some Bus o Truck (they may even use real Bus o Trucks!!!).

« on: January 18, 2004, 08:00:11 AM »
I have Prince of persia, and i'm really enjoying the game wiht the Spanish transalation. I saw in a tv game show calle "Atomix TV" (mexican, bad, and really lame, but it's the only) the "review" of Beyond Good and Evil, and in the scenes from the game the text was in spanish, and I think the voices too, but it was the PS2 version. Can anyone tell if the GC version it's in spanish as well?

Dev houses producing games that don't sell get dissolved pretty fast, though.

Well, you are repeating what I just say. If you as developer sees that a game in the PS2 is more likely to be published that releasing the same in GC, the most of the games would be developed for the first. And what makes that a publisher decide to go on with a game?, well, the security that the game would at least generate some money. If you know that even poorly-make games sells, then you publish all the games you can, so in the numbers be the safety of income. That easy. It's like the cinemas, if a movie is really bad, but still many people is willing to see it, they proyect it, even lefting out some other good movies.

Money talks. You can overlook these restrictions if you know that your 6 months developed game will sell at least enought to make profit. Besides, I think GC owners are much more selective on the software they get (i don't know why, but I still think GC owners are much more "hardcore").

Sounds dumb to mention it, I know, but like Shifty said....when the Cube was first launched I got more calls concerning that than anything.

"Thankyou for calling Nintendo. Have a great day!" (lol)

Ummm, I do this: when I put a game in, I just put in the center hub and then press the disc around the center until it fits. For removing, I just press the center button and then lift the disc, is this incorrect?, becasue it's my second cube. The fist one begin giving the "Can't read disk' error (the one that appears during gameplay).

The only thing that make doubt it's how the damn disk tray sinks (not much) every time you push that little button.

Sadly, bashing is always easier, it doesn't matter if the one you are ramping againts it's in firts or last place. Besides, you can always come with the hipocrital face of "I knew they'll do well, really". Faith, pals, it's all you need (even when I don't take it anymore).

About the violence and gore in games, none of you would belive the amount of people planning to get Manhunt just for the "violence thing" (heek, I even heard several guys calling it "the violence's game").

Even so, I think they need to make some changes. Online it's not attractive to me (or hardly anyone I know), but having it there could be a great difference. They also should keep "styles", and don't make any drastic change on games (graphics, gameplay, type) from one game to another, that just confuses no-nintendo gamers, and drives them away (no all of us can see a game as "art"). The way nintendo way is approaching the industry in this days may see wrong, but, at least most of us, we don't work there, so then, we don't know what crazy ideas they are having to climb up again. Let's just hope they are not that crazy.

I don't understand why you guys argue with each other for such an insignificant topic. Who cares if Nintendo is "inferior" to the Xbox. Why do you feel compelled to fight for a company in some stupid argument that's probably been brought up over the globe a million times. As long as you get to play great innovative games why the hell do you care about if a company's hardware doesn't sell well. Do you feel warm inside for having the Nintendo brand symbol by yourside, or do you prefer the manlyness of the Xbox instead. Is it becuase you've had a Nintendo since you were 2 and are OldSkool to stick with it. You guys need to stop saying your "open-minded" and really step back and see why people buy "fad" games. Maybe they want to play as the Terminator in Terminator 3, and what if they don't like the innovative new zelda.....are they automatically shunned as "stupid casual gamers." Am I the only one who understands that even if Nintendo stops making hardware, we'll still get the great games we always wanted. Or even if Nintendo stops making games, the people within the company well dispurse into other gaming companies....making the better probably. So why the hell are there fanboys, it makes no sense to me. Enjoy games period.

PS: I'm not hating, I just want you guys to realize how meaningless some of this stuff is.

Amen to that, I used to be one of those fanboys, until some day I find myself arguing how
much better was the N64 over the PS one due to Zelda, with a guy that changes systems like underwear. Since then, I decided to get the system with the games I wanna play (in this case GC because of Metroid, F-Zero and Zelda) and PLAY. The guy I was arguing with?, well he has a PS2 "because the 'cube has those little discs and the Powerpuff Zelda". He brouhgt his PS2 almost 3 years ago (before the cube even had a name), but he insists in the reason above, and when we see a GC game, he always find something "awful" (what almost made laught was when he said F-Zero GX was a crappy game "because the music sucks"), and just the last week, he keep saying that I-Ninja rocks, and we I say "Well, I suppose, maybe I'll get it too", he change his oppinion. This kind of fanboys is what generates this kind of arguing, useless by the way.

« on: December 08, 2003, 07:41:01 AM »
I just found the game totally inmensive. I think the gameplay it's ok, after all, is a Survival Horror game. The insanity effects where a really good idea, it's a shame nobody else tried. The game can be expanded further, if you know or look for some information about some of the events the game mentions, like Carlomagne or the Battle of the Some. Then the game becomes even more creepy!!!

Ps. If you look for "Cathedar Oublier" in google , you can visit the place where the fight vs. the guardian was held, I mean, the real Cathedral.

I think The Omen points out something true in his other topic. As you grow up, you have less free time, because you are tie to work, or because you have different interest. I know people, hard-core gamers, that finished games in a week, and now they barely play, and even then, they preffer open-ending games, or they stuck with one kind, mostly racers, strategics and simulators. I think that's appening to me, except that I prefer old-school games.

Yo.

That's right, back in the N64 days, I got wait even around 3 months to get a new game, due to lack of support and quality games (did I ever mentioned that I finished TLOZ: OT around 8 times and Castlevania 64 around 5)

I just got PN03 and Viewtiful Joe, and I really like both. But right now I have two months working, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., monday to friday, and I don't have enought time to play any, worts even, I haven't finished F-Zero GX, NBA Street Vol. 2 and Soul Calibur II, and to make all any worts, I still live with my parents XP (not because I wanted to, but becuse I'm planning my Master Degree) and can't play freely. I realize I'm an idiot while, going from work to my house, I was planning if I'll buy FIFA 2004 and NFS:UG or THUG or True Crime Streets of LA, when I remember that I have unfinished games (my only truly finished game is Eternal Darkness. Take this advice, don't buy games just because they are available and you like them if you don't have time to play, without forgeting other things.
