It'll be just under a week before the battle royale classics resume - with something even older than Mario.

Nintendo have announced Pac-Man 99 will be available for play by Nintendo Switch Online members beginning on April 7 (tomorrow) at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. The app is available to download now.

Although the game will be free for members, there will be paid themes that can change the appearance of the game to that of other Namco classics such as Dig Dug and Galaga.

I honestly think this would be worse than Tetris 99; not in the sense of the subject (I like Pac-Man), but the fact that you are playing it with 98 other people (Tetris was fine for that matter) sounds atrocious.

I played a few rounds last night.  It was fun, but chaotic.  A lot going on on the screen and it's awfully small.  I need to play it docked and see if I can do better.  I did manage 3rd place though.

I played about a dozen times last night and it is refreshingly addictive chasing that #1. I got second place once but no pac-one for me yet. I like the inclusion of some of the trains from championship edition. Watch out for those red pac-ghosts!

I've never played a Pac-Man game before, so this probably wouldn't be a good starting point.
