Topic: Mafia X: The Rules, The Roles and The Sign-up

Nyladrin is my younger brother.  I talked to him while we were playing Mafia VII was it?  The Pokemon themed one.  Anyway, he liked it, and wanted to join.  Well, this is my next game after Pokemafia, so I called him up and invited him.  We live 60 miles apart, and there is no way in heck we'd share information.  I have to much fun to have it ruined like that.  I figure, the more people the better, right?

Yeah, bad news. Something came up and I've been out for the night. I had the roles ready to go but wasn't able to start sending them. Not sure when I'll be home but hopefully I can still send them out tonight. Still, I think this means the game won't start now until Sunday evening. I'll start it a little early then. Unless, I'm home sooner than I think and can get all the roles ready, then maybe there's a chance the game will start around mif\dnight Mountain time. But we'll see what happens.

In the meantime, Knowsnothing can join.

MattVDB, your brother is welcome. You weren't here last game but Windyman played the game and used a dupe account also and sort of spoiled the game soon. So, we're being a bit more careful with new people we don't recognize.

The mole wins with the townies. He can't win with the mafia. There is something else about the role I'll mention later.

I was just about to start sending out roles when I saw you're message Spak. Give me a moment. It won't take long to recalculate roles. However, I think this will be the last entry I take. Sorry to anyone else but you are welcome for the next game. I'll start sending out the roles in 10 minutes.

The roles have gone out now. I'm waiting to find out who the corrupted townies will be. Legends mafia has actions on odd nights. MaxVelocity has actions even nights. Note: On the third day, Legends will have a mole and MaxVelocity will have a mole. On both this day, any person on the townie side may recieve a new role. The blackmailer.

The blackmailer know the role of the mole. The blackmailer will not reveal this role unless wanting the mole dead. As long as the blackmailer is alive, the mole works for the townies. If the blackmailer is killed, the mole has the option of either working for a townie win or going back to the mafia. The rest of the mafia will not know this choice and if they don't know who the mole is, may never be sure of one another. Wandering had asked me long ago about the mole blurting out all his mafia members and this seems like a good check and balance. It means the mole works quietly or his role will be revealed and he has a chance to reconnect with his mafia if he chooses. The blackmailer role can not be switched and it can be investigated. The mole does not know his blackmailer unless the balckmailer reveals their identity to the mole. That should about do it.


The game will now begin around Midnight Eastern tonight. So, you have achance to read up on your roles and prepare yourselves. Plus, I'll have a chance to finish sending out avatars and assigning racers. And I can answer any other questions that may arise. So prepare yourself. This willshould be a hard fought mafia battle. And if you make it to the end, be proud of yourself and all those you had to beat to get there. It should be a challenge.

Actually, I asked for one yesterday. I should check if it's done. But yeah. The person leading it all is the last to get an avatar. Maybe it's been all the invites I've been sending. Or the personal messages to everyone while handoing out the roles. A tip for future mafia hosters. If 34 people are playing. Use form letters.

And I'm still waiting for a certain mafia to tell me the candidate they want for the corrupted townie. I need it before the game starts.

Hey guys, if you signed up, you are pretty much obligated to play.  The only chance the townies have of winning is if every player actually plays.  It would suck if half of the townies died the second night due to a lack of voting because they thought being a townie sucked.  Please, everybody that signed up, play.  Is that too hard to ask?  Cool cool.  Resume.
