It's about 1 block = 128KB. So 2,982 blocks is about 372.75MB.

The formula is blocks divided by 8

2982 / 8 = 372.75 MB

I'm pretty sure the formula is:

blocks = utterly useless data capacity descriptor

It's funny that Nintendo still measures game size in Megabits, they just changed what they called them.

The stupid terms like "mebi" and "kibi" may be the official terms, but almost no one in the real world actually uses them. Most consumers and companies use "mega", "kilo", etc.

Those "stupid" terms exist because megabyte can mean two different things depending on how you use it. In most of the cases those terms are used, accuracy is more important than aesthetics.

I know I am not alone, those terms have existed for about 14 years and almost no on uses them.

They use "blocks" so that people without knowledge of the usual terminology have nothing to get confused over.

In fact, even us users who do understand the terminology don't need to know the technical file sizes.  How many blocks is the game? 2000? How many free blocks do I have? More than that? Good to go.

Plain. Simple.

Baloney. So how many blocks should she ask for at BestBuy when grandma goes to buy an SD card?

First I've heard of Fractured Soul, I need to start paying attention. I did find these interesting videos on Youtube:

Fractured Souls 3DS:

I always find it interesting to see Graphical differences between platforms.

It still beats Nintendo's pages and notes system from the Nintendo 64.
