Topic: Mafia 87: Harvest Moon - Seasons of Mafia Town. Year 2.

Mop it up did not like the sudden influx of new people moving into Shady Village. Having lived in the village her whole life and having gone through its infamous Mafia Town period, she now distrusted everyone new and as well as some of the other longtime residents whom she suspected as having collaborated with that early villainous element. If the mayor wasn’t going to do anything about it then she was. Thus, she began a campaign of trying to alienate all those in town and make life difficult for them in the hopes they would leave.

She definitely succeeded in alienating the people (her suddenly flipping off the mayor every time she saw him was a real shock to his system) but it didn’t cause the citizens to leave. Instead, some of the citizens decided they had taken enough abuse from Mop it up and swayed others to gather up their pitchforks and march down to Mop it up’s property to confront her. Mop it up heard the growing din of the crowd coming to see her and looked out her windows. She saw the people march over her prized purple pansies and pink dahlias, trampling them under their boots. This caused her to fly in a rage. She began looking for a weapon to use to attack the crowd with.

As the crowd chanted for her to go, she stormed out to meet them and said “If I have to leave this place then I’m taking some of you with me!” It seems that Mop it up decided to take on the strategy of a suicide bomber and she jumped towards the crowd with some lit sticks of dynamite. The people began to scatter but there was hardly any time to get away as some large explosions suddenly filled the air of Shady Village. The end result is that Mop it up took out 8 other people with her.

Or at least that’s how Mop it up imagined it playing out in her mind. Unfortunately, the rage caused by the trampling of her flowers caused her to have a stroke as she was getting ready to confront the mob. She collapsed to the ground from the heart attack after coming out to face the mob dropping the lit candlesticks she had been carrying with her. Her mind and eyesight were also failing her at this time of her life which usually happens for someone who has just turned 28 in Shady Village. The sudden death of Mop it up was a shock to the crowd and they left mostly subdued and saddened that their behavior had caused the death of an old lady. Even if she had been ornery and crotchety to all she met, Mop it up was just a regular old townie and didn’t deserve to be killed for it.

Meanwhile, one winter’s night over at Joja Mart, pokepal148, who was the GM of the Shady Village franchise, was getting ready to close up for the day. He had been working hard at trying to get lettuce to stick to the heads of different types of cats but wasn’t having much success as they kept finding ways to shake it off and remove it.

Suddenly, a shadowy figure entered the store.

(Also, it hit me after I ended the Day 1 thread that I should have called it Year 1 thread as going by years is a better fit for a Harvest Moon game so Day threads are now Year threads. And not just because they feel like they last as long as a year.

As for the results of the day I guess I got my wish on Mop it up being voted out for what she pulled last game but it was unfortunate she wasn't a mafia member.   Also pokepal getting killed by the Mafia is interesting as I was planning on voting him out on day 3 for not trusting me about Mop it up and MKBungle in our townie alliance . So it seems whoever is godfather caught up with what I was going to do with my votes.

That being said pokepal messaged me on Day 1 and said that he didn't trust Crimm and thought he was suspecious.

 I was planning on voting for MK. Bungle today but I think for now till I have a better option I am voting for Crimm since it is the best lead I have.  If folks want to join me they can and if enough votes are there I can switch to MK. Bungle just to feel some sort of satisfaction over last game.

11/21 9pm est is a good amount of time for me to comb through the posts and really analyze everyone. I'm not sure if I've ever been the detective in the game. Even if you don't officially have the role, it still feels like you are. But that would be fun if I was. I have really fond memories of my first game with the f-zero theme. It felt like a Cyberpunk detective novel.  If only Cyberpunk 2077 was actually that engaging. That f-zero game also lasted for 11 days. I think I might binge-watch the rest of True Detective after this is over.

I also have to figure out how this harvest stuff works, because I have never played Harvest Moon. I was told it was like animal crossing with more farming. I do a lot of farming on stronghold kingdoms.

ThePerm the harvesting is a matter of just selecting any item in that list that hasn't been taken yet and that gives you a chance to find Jamie and have them join your side if they accept your proposal.  At the moment you can select 5 items at once but you may decide to wait to obtain them till later on in the day so you can select more items.   A lot of folks are using it to roleplay and it can be fun that way.

I'm afraid your selection was just a bit too soon before the second 12 hour period began. Look at the time stamp of your post and the time stamp of when the thread was created. About 30 minutes too soon. If you still want this selection than you can post it now that we are in the second 12 hour period of this Year.

Some might even say the first 12 hour period was Spring and now we are in the 12 hour period of Summer. My gosh, I had seasons for the "Years" in this game and never even saw it until now. The sheer brilliance of it all... it's incredible!!

Not really feeling the LuigiDude vote.  It seems like a vote on someone not very active in the game and as we already know the Mafia is active and so I would think a more active player would be the better vote.   Also why is Crimm and TOPHATANT123 latching onto Nickmitch's inital LuigiDude vote.   

The way I see it is Crimm is not acknowledging my vote on him and trying to make it so that he isn't being noticed as he makes the 3rd vote on LuigiDude.

If folks want more evidence well here it is.  Pokepal and I were discussing the love letters from day 1. and Pokepal told me that based on the writing style and cadence it seemed very suspecious.  Very Mafia like.  Now you may ask how is that relavent?  Well pokepal said that he listens to Crimm on RFN a lot and figured out that the style of talking is the same as the one in the 2nd letter.

One last thing on Day 1 he voted for Mop it up after she voted for Crimm.  The final tally was 3 for Mop it up with several other players at 1 and  yet Crimm decided to unvote Mop it up after Mop it up moved on to another player when an unvote wouldn't of mattered in the vote totals either way and didn't put up a new vote.  Why?   Was it because he didn't want to vote out a townie on the first day.  Possible but also that he knew that any vote on day 1 would get attached to him for the whole game.  Next day comes and Mop it up is a regular townie.   Townies take risks on day one and don't remove their vote if it means that a Mafia member could be removed on the 1st day.   Crimm Mafia.

I voted for LuigiDude because he was also at 2 votes. It was purely defensive. I needed to advance the number on someone else.

I unvoted Mop It Up for the reason I said I voted FOR Mop It Up: she voted for me. She moved her vote and so did I. Early voting is completely nonsense randomness so it seemed as good a reason as any.

I don't know if this is the right choice.  It's very likely I wont be up before 9am. This is the problem with being a night owl. We're still in the crapshoot phase at the beginning of the game. I'm suspicious and weary of everyone. Beautifulshy could be scrambling. Wah's absence is suspicious. Luigi dude hasn't done anything to make me weary. But that itself is suspicious. But all that could mean nothing. I just don't know enough to make a good informed decision. Some people are acting suspicious, but not to the extant that I really want to see them go. But then again there is what happened in the last game. We should have got Mop_it_up out and we didn't.

It's 1:50ish my time in Arizona, and 4:50ish forum time. I just fed one of my cats.  I think I'm going to go turn The Thing on and relax. I usually wake up at 10:30am to 11am Arizona time.  I might wake up early and change my mind. I might change my mind in an hour. I don't know.

I'm about halfway through The Thing and I thought "vote for active players and they'll rally a crowd and vote you out before you wake up and then you'll be out of the game" I've done this a few times: where I went to sleep, I thought it was a good idea. Turns out it was a a bad idea. I've been out so many times day one or day two that it's got me wired.

vote for inactive players and you might remove the godfather, or usually the killer(though there isn't a killer in the game). I'm not really buying Luigi Dude or Crimm theories.

Here is the thing stevey that info about Crimm could have come from anyone in the game.  Aside from pokepal and a few others nobody has contacted me talking about any hunches or anything of the sort.   
Had someone else brought that info forward I would have used it because guess what it is a lead and players use information to get a better grasp on the game and to form ideas on who is Mafia.  If anyone else did come forward with that info I would of used it but nobody did.

So for now I am using any leads to form a better knowledge on figuring out who is on the opposing side.

As for me siding with pokepal to be honest I was least upset with pokepal of the players in last games alliance.  It is Mop it up, MKBungle and then pokepal in that order.

Q: If Jamie waits to pick a letter and the suitor dies in the meantime, does Jamie still die or will they move on to the next suitor since they haven't met and made a connection yet?

Jamie does not die because they did not commit to a partnership yet and is therefore uncoupled. Jamie loses the option to match with the eliminated player and would have to select a different eligible choice if any are still available.

Mayor Khushrenada is at the local tavern one night and he seems to be jollier than usual. When asked about it, the alcohol in his system helps loosen his lips faster.

"Well, I let you in on a little secret," he says, "Turns out the romantic interest towards Jamie by a couple people in town has caused Jamie to do some soul-searching. As a result, Jamie has asked me to deliver a letter to their long-time crush in the village. If their crush accepts then we'll have a big Wedding Festival. If not, then at least Jamie knows that it is pointless to keep pining after that person and should focus on one of the other villagers that have come forward with their love.

In fact, let me show you the note Jamie has asked me to pass on to their crush:

Hey, Love. 

It is nice to see you again.  I missed seeing you around and it was making me blue. There are times that I grow green with envy of us not being together.   I know we can work together to paint the town red. I know that we have such good chemistry and such a strong bond that we can fight through anything that gets in our way and we already have the knowledge to fight back against anyone who would try to separate us.  I red that there is a rumbling of an alliance and I would love nothing more than to be joined with you on the road heading into each other's loving embrace.
