Title: Epic Game Store
Post by: ThePerm on October 07, 2021, 05:21:25 PM
They have a free game every week.

Anyways, some weeks I forget to get the free game. Please people bump this weekly.

I missed Europa Universalis IV, which I wanted to get. Sigh. It seems like the weeks I forget about the store that's when the really good games pop on.

That store is such a laggy mess though.

Everytime you claim a free game, a small portion of money wasted on v bucks is sent to a developer in need.

I have a lot of games in Epic Store. Its actually been good/bad for my Switch because I get a lot of the indie games I would have gotten on Switch so I'm just not buying half the games I am interested in anymore.

Got both Playtonic not-Banjo games, Celeste, Civ 6, Jurassic World Evolution, and dozens more for free.

Most I'll never touch I bet, but I claim them all anyways. Not missed a week in like two years.

Will try to make a habit of posting here to remind people but no guarantees.

I remembered to redeem my freebie this week. How about you?

Just logged in to redeem it. Sometimes the store logs me out and so I drag my feet on getting in.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse

&

Paladins Epic Pack

And apparently I have 176 games in the Epic Store and not a penny spent there.

I've only spent time in like 14 of them and of that only about half for multiple hours or more. Its basically a gaming retirement plan as thats probably the only time I'll get to most of these.

looks like Shenmue 3 is the current freebie and there will be a new freebie every day until Christmas. (https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/p/shenmue-3?purchaseIntentId=5d582c08e31a43128a61093a2c3ff7f0%7C30e0d1b99ced430b825239b395ff140c)

I missed Shenmue but then I'd have to buy the other two so maybe its best for now. I've noticed they will repeat games sometimes as this current one Remnant from the Ashes is already in my library so it will probably come back again some time, especially since it is published by Epic.

I barely caught Shenmue 3. I told my friend about it over the phone and he was like "awww" I didn't have time to tell him about it. I figured he was probably sleeping. I already have Shenmue 3 for ps4, but I didn't mind snagging a pc version.

Today's Epic freebie was a game called "The vanishing of Ethan Carter" which is a game I've never heard of before.

I couldn't even remember what it was an hour ago. I woke up this morning. Clicked a few times. I have it now. I might play it.

Did I miss yesterday's game? Possibly. Today is an early access game called Second Extinction. Looks like you shoot dinosaurs so could be fun.

Current free games are the new Tomb Raider trilogy including all DLC. Will be available until 1/6 so extra time to redeem.

Still got a few days, but anyone interested in Daemon X Machina can get it for free on the Epic store on PC. Worth a try if you never got around to grabbing the Switch version.

Unrailed is free this week and I highly recommend it. Reposting my comments on it from another thread here:

Quote
Goal is to build a railroad for a non-stop train by gathering resources to build the track the train runs on. Over time the train speeds up, but at checkpoints you get to buy upgrades to the carts that make tracks, buy new cars that help you, and upgrade the train to progress to new levels and slow the train back down.

Has a bit of a Minecraft aesthetic but plays like Overcooked where it is easy to learn but progressively gets harder to master.
