If I didn't already have a PS4 pre-ordered I would grab that Wii U Zelda bundle. As it is the investment in the Wii U, extra controllers, games.. it's not going to happen until tax time at this point.

I do have to agree that they should have just kept Nintendo Land bundled into the system and added Zelda.

The problem here is that Nintendo announced a $50 price change almost a month in advance. So now they are going to have sales drop to practically nothing for a month, and anyone who does buy it wasted money.

Can't find the edit button! Here's the information about Zelda being delayed for Wind Waker HD:

That's not to say a new, radically different Zelda Wii U title isn't coming. It is. His teams are currently developing the next-gen title, but unfortunately it's not at a point where there's anything relevant to show. Progress on the title's also being held up by Nintendo's development resources, or lack thereof. Right now, Aonuma's teams are spread a bit thin across A Link Between Worlds and Wind Waker HD, with priority going to that latter title. So before Nintendo can make any serious headway on Zelda Wii U -- let alone make the title's existence public -- WindWaker HD needs to be completed.

Nintendo also needs to expand so that they can pump out more great games especially with all their talk of how HD games have taken longer to make then they expected I hope they expand their current studios or buy 1 or 2 more studios.

That and where Nintendo said the real next-gen Zelda is delayed because the developers are working on Wind Waker HD. That's a big concern to me. HD remakes are generally side projects that you can throw a few developers at. To have your team devoted to that and delaying a real new Zelda game just doesn't seem right.

I don't think it's entirely about price, but it's not entirely about software either. Am I going to buy a $350 system for Wind Waker HD? No. Would I buy a $250 system for Wind Waker HD? Probably.

I still think Nintendo has an easy way to solve the software problem that they just don't seem capable of exploiting: The Virtual Console. If the VC was your one-stop-shop for classic gaming and was loaded up with games (we're talking all the Wii ones moved over already), and as a bonus the games could also be played on the 3DS with a single purchase, I think a lot of people would snap up the system for just that. I know I would.

Not only did they drastically cut back on how many stores are doing this but they are only going to have ONE demo station? This is embarrassing at this point. And still no word on being able to download demos to play at home for people who have Wii U's?

This excuse makes no sense to me. There were two first-party launch games right? Nintendo Land and NSMB U? If they have that few developers that helping with two titles caused delays on the rest we are all in trouble

I never actually purchased DKRC, probably because my Wii has been gathering dust. SO, I will be buying it on the 3DS to play! I'm glad they are releasing it there

I love Fire Emblem and the demo was great. I'll be getting the game on the 4th.

One question though - with all the setting changes you can do, can you turn off the grunts and other noises the characters make in the cut scenes? That really bothered me in the demo for some reason

That would do it, I'm sold. Thanks!

Now if only more people had 3DS systems so Gamestop had a reason to sell this at midnight D:

I guess I'm still confused on what makes it "packed with content" and worth the $40 price (I'm poor right now!).

You mention even collecting the stars you can finish each level in 5 minutes or so, and there are 8 worlds with 5-6 levels a piece. So at 6 levels, 8 worlds, 5 minutes you're talking about 4 hours to finish the game.

Is the extra content the bonus levels? How much overall do you feel that adds to the time it takes to completely finish the game to make it packed with content?

« on: October 27, 2011, 04:43:13 PM »
I stopped buying Virtual Console games a long time ago. There are tons I want, I just didn't want to spend the money until I found out how Nintendo will handle future consoles/handhelds and iterations of the store.

Not well is the answer, apparently.

Will we be able to transfer our Wii VC sales to the Wii U? Why can't we play purchased Wii VC games on the 3DS? It really should all be one store. Ok, MAYBE there are problems running N64 games on the 3DS. But the NES/SNES games?

I would love it if the Virtual Console was one store where I could buy things and play it on the Wii, Wii U and 3DS. But that's not how Nintendo operates, and probably never will.
